[font=tahoma,geneva,sans-serif]I am 37 years old, married, mother of 3 and I have been overweight my entire life. Like many, I have tried every diet out there and have been successful at losing a few pounds but never have been able to keep it off. I have been on cholesterol medicine since my late 20's and have been borderline hypertension for the same amount of time. I have always thought about checking in to the surgery but did not know how my family would react. After speaking with my husband and my mom, they were both very support of my decision. I made an appointment for 4/25/13 and the Dr. told me I was a candidate so, the ball started rolling from there. I was lucky that my insurance did not require any supervised diets or waiting period and I was approved within a week of my papers being submitted. I now have a surgery date of 6/24/13. YAY! I have a pre-op appointment tomorrow, 6/7/13. I'm so excited to start this new journey not only for myself, but for my kids too. I want to be healthy and be around to watch them grow up, I want to be able to participate in their sports activities and even run a marathon with my best friend! [/font]
