Essence33 got a reaction from Lanie Hardy in Nov 2020 Bypass Peeps?
Hi everyone just had a revision. Five yrs ago I had vsg and now 1 week out of having an rny bypass. I can't really say which felt worst. But I'm blessed to have come out of it alive and well. The gas pain still awful but the keeping faith alive. But so far so good. I'm still happy.

Hey everyone I’m currently recovering in the hospital from bypass this morning. Not nearly as bad as I was expecting. Actually the hernia repair & surgical gas hurt more then anything else. No vomiting, tolerating Water & Protein Shakes and walking unassisted. For anyone nervous about the process, I’m here to say I’m on the other side and it’s already worth it. Good luck to everyone!!

I have finally reached my goal at 148 pounds after losing 230 pounds, 2 years after sleeve operation with Dr.Ortiz @ OCC in Tijuana Mexico.
I also had Arm and Breast lift and skin removal in November . Followed by a belt-Lipectomy in March and Exstended Thigh lift and Upper Eye Lid Surgery in June.
All Plastic Surgeries were done by Dr Medina Sanchez at Ariel Center or OCC in Tijuana, he is the Chief of Plastic Surgery . My Results are amazing and I had no complications. There are before and after pictures in my profile Gallery. If you are looking into Plastic surgery After weight loss, I highly Recommend Dr Medina.
After dramatic weight loss you are faced with Loose skin. Yes, I will have scars, but they are worth it. And they become a very fine line that you can almost not see anymore. Well worth the results. The surgeries were painless for me.Your mobility is limited for the first 2 weeks and you find out how hard it is to get out of bed when you cant use your abs. Or how difficult it is to bend over and pick things from the floor. I was walking and doing normal activities within 2 weeks of surgery. We all heal differently, and i healed quickly. I did use compression garments because they do help with swelling and protect the scaring. I wore them each time for 4 weeks.
I love my Plastic Surgery results. I made me more confident, I feel good about myself, I enjoy a lot more of what life has to offer. I can go out in public without feeling that people are looking at me differently.I am healthy. I love traveling and now I can fit easily and comfortable in a middle seat on the plane. And after 30 years of hiding I bought a bikini, that I will proudly wear this summer at age 50. I have rediscovered myself. Thank you Dr Medina Sanchez, Dr Ortiz and the staff at OCC for your help on my life journey . It has been a wonderful experience.

How long do you stay in Mexico?
What are the accomodations? What about followup and problems if they arise?

Finally got my sleeved done by Dr. Ortiz and Dr. Martinez in Tijuana, MX. People get the misconception about having surgery across the borders, I did too at some point. However, after many research, calling the international board, checking on certificates and licensure. I know they were legit and would be my doctors. Bedside manners was awesome. They educated me and mom on everything. They answered all of my questions. I was in surgery for about am 1hr the most because he said, I had a big stomach, so instead of the 5 incision, I got 6. There small too. I didn't need any drain. It went well. I thank God first and may God bless

Mine was on Sept 1. Just had my 6-month follow-up evaluation with the nutritionists last early last week. They scheduled a time to call me on the phone (I'm at work during their normal business hours so I needed a specific time) and corresponded with me a bit via email as well. You will receive surveys via email that you should definitely fill out. If the survey turns up anything unusual, then they will call you to follow-up. The surveys come every week in the beginning, then slow down around the 6 week mark, if I recall correctly. Then you will have a phone call with the nutritionist at 3 months and 6 months to check on your progress and make sure you are doing well with your nutrition and supplements.

Congratz! I too had a great experience with Dr. Ortiz and OCC. My follow-up has been great as well. I've had many questions for Dr. So and Lucia post-op and they have been quick to respond to all of them!

Was sleeved 5 months ago. I had a BMI of 36, high blood pressure, metabolic syndrome, high cholesterol, high triglycerides, arthritis in my hips, and knees about to give out. I was a size 20 XXL. Everything exhausted me. I'm 53 and felt every inch my age.
Today I'm a BMI of 25.9 - almost normal. I wear a size 10/12. Went from 3 blood pressure meds to one. Arthritis is nearly gone and knees are great. Trigycerides and cholesterol are excellent. Blood sugar is terrific. Energy levels are excellent, can even bike and do weight training now (ok, not well, but I'm doing it lol). I'm not hot all the time. For me it was the right decision. It was very hard, this is not a walk in the park. I have had to completely change my eating habits, but I'm really ok with it. For the first time I feel like my hard work paid off and will continue to pay off if I use this wonderful tool to its full extent. I am terrified of gaining the weight back, but I feel like I have a really good chance of keeping it off for life this time, thanks to my sleeve.
I'm just over 30 lbs from goal. I lose slow (be prepared for that - not everyone is a fast loser), but I couldn't be happier. I did have terrible throat issues the first 3 months, so hard to swallow, but that's gone now. Remember there is risk with this surgery. You may be the 99% that has no trouble or you may be the 1%. Prepare yourself for either case.

I was sleeved December 11, 2013. The surgeon said it was textbook (I followed the rules to a T), and there have been some panicky moments I the month following, but I know that I made the absolute best decision for myself.
I'm down 44 pounds from when I started the process, and am well on my way to goal. Best wishes to you on your journey!

I'm right there with you. The MINUTE I get our refund I am scheduling my surgery and waiting on all of our documents so that I can make sure it's enough is killing me. I keep reminding myself I've been waiting a year...a few more weeks is not going to kill me but I'm just so ready. Good luck to you!

Hi everyone, I'm waiting to pay for this surgery in full. I pray I get all the money ($10,500) for my procedure. Couldn't get insurance, so I'll be paying out of the pocket. I've been waiting since Feb 2013 for this. Hopefully my tax money will complete my outstanding balance and I'll get a date before March or April. Keep me in your prayers and hands cross. I need this badly.
    Sincerely,
"Your fat friend and future sleever."
