  1. @@tamg26k, Girl that's why you look so good! I personally don't do well at gyms well at least that was the case pre-surgery. I would spend the money and not go. I'm not where I should be in terms of exercise but you are certainly an inspiration!

    Share your Costco staples!

I feel like I get my bang for my buck with the jerky. I haven't had any yet postop, but it fills the sweet, salt and fat craving all in one.

@@Cupcake, I want a medial thigh lift and breast lift and possibly an augmentation. My belly won't be that that bad. I think saving and financing some will get me there.

    Rough Start

Hang in there! Sorry you've had a rough go of things. I had a little vomiting early on but it was from mechanical issues if that makes sense like from eating dry meat too fast or too fast in general..I would get the foamies and then everything would come up and I'd have to start over on the slow train. My first bites have to be slow, like real slow. Hopefully, your surgeon will have some ideas for you.

Are you following a Paleo Diet?

Because I'm bypass, I think I still need to stay SF options for me sweet tooth. I'm not a fan of stevia and dates would probably make me dump...

Are you following a Paleo Diet?

I had trouble loosing on Paleo presurgery....I know I need to get rid of the artificial sugars and dairy. ...Maybe when I get to goal weight I can meet with a NUT to help me stay bariatric friendly....

    Any Washington State Sleevers?

Welcome JR, Glad you are recovering well. There is a WLS support/meet up happening in the Bothell area. Not sure where you are from. It's meet the 1st and 3rd Sunday, although we are skipping Easter Sunday figuring most will be busy. We meet at The Den Coffeehouse at 3pm. More details to follow. In fact a poll will follow.....

I'm getitmimi. keep searching threads, there are plenty! :-) oh wait that my fitness pal....can't recall fitbit at the moment
  13. I can tolerate foods very well. I haven't had pasta, but I've had a little rice and potatoes. I'm not really nauseous. I'm doing my fitness pal to make sure I'm getting my protein in. I average 800-1000 cals/day. I'm so scared to try sugar or fatty foods, I don't want to dump. I think everyone is different. I have a bypass friend who can tolerate sugar and one who cannot. It's easy stay on track now but I'll be sad if later on I don't get the dumping to keep me in line, it wasn't my fail safe but was a back up plan lol. I think I'm holding off on trying sugar and alcohol till I'm at goal. But I'm truly satisfied with my food right now.....

  18. For perspective, my almost 5 year old daughter has only been to the golden arches once in her life. It was not on purpose either. We were at a bouncy house place far from home and she had run out of snacks I had packed for her and she had to pee and she was starving burning all those calories running and jumping and playing. Anyways, I avoided telling her the name of the place so she could never ask to go there again because she was enamored that they had toys and indoor playground for children (important here in Seattle with the rain). Anyways, she was complaining and having a tantrum because she had to wait in line for food. She had only been places where she is served food by wait staff. All I could think about is if you frequent places where you have to wait in line for food, it's like pigs to the slaughter!

The Washington State WLS Support Group

I'm pretty partial to Lily Chang at Virginia Mason in downtown Seattle. 206-341-1994 I've had a great experience with her and she follows folks from out of state and the country.

    Regret stage!

It does get better! I'm 9 weeks out. Try not to focus on taste, just get the nutrients in you. Things that worked for me was sf chocolate pudding with unflavored protein. Cream of tomato soup, popsicles, cream of rice cooked in chicken broth and unflavored protein powder. Dannon fit and light yogurt only the toasted coconut and vanilla flavor. I made shrimp bisque soup strained....Then the ricotta cheese bake with pesto when I went to soft foods....Keep walking, although at that stage I would get worn out. I liked the chewable gas x.....Hang in there, you got this!!! :-) :-) :-) :-)

I can sing very well. I can harmonize with any song. I can cook. I make most every meal without a recipe for my family. I've only bombed maybe twice in my life. I intuitively know how to mix flavors and textures. Got that from my dad who was neither overweight nor a chef. I'm a very convincing salesperson. People say I can sale ice to an Eskimo. Thinking about a career change lol. I'm logical, funny, smart and attention deficient. I'm also a very good writer with a pretty impressive lexicon. Great thread.

Frozen Foods Month – The WLS Way!

I would put in a plug for a company called Luvo. They are not low carb but they are healthy real food that is pronouncable. I can eat around the carbs if I choose now. The food tastes like it was made in someone's kitchen not a factory. The problem with some brands mentioned is that they contain MSG, modified food starch or some derivative. It makes me feel weird and zippy and high for some reason. The chicken and chili is bariatric friendly and a couple of other non-Pasta flavors. http://luvoinc.com/

    January 15th, 2015 Anyone?

Hey there! I'm team 1/15/15 and in doing great! My weight loss seems slower than most but I'm not racing to the finish line. I'm taking the scenic route lol. I'm walking most days and I'm looking to start some body weight training at home. I had some jalapenos for dinner tonight. My pouch was not a fan. Ugh. I'm tolerating most foods fairly, though. You????

    Celebrating small victories

@@anaxila, I follow you on MFP, so I know you are putting in the work! Great job! I'm not a fast looser. I have lost massive amounts for weight before and have engaged in unconventional weight loss efforts previously and my body is just taking the scenic route down the scale. I have to accept that for what it is. I'm at 8 weeks and I've lost 30 pounds. Averaging .5 pound a day, is something that I could not have accomplished on my own so everything else is gravy! Keep up the good work, girl!
