    52 pounds gone.

    THAT'S SO WONDERFUL!

    Anti Inflammatory

I really suggest you call your surgeon about this to get the correct answer. Your surgeon is the best judge of this.
  3. The following companies are great and have enjoyable products. The first is Walden Farms and the make syrups, spreadables, dressings, sauces like ketchup, pasta, bbq, dips, mayo and they are all calorie free, carb free, fat free. The second one is Kay's Natural Soy products that include chips, cereals, cookies and they all have 12 grams of protein per serving. You will find their websites on google.com or a list of where they sell their products.

    OMGosh

I'm a sharpei all over the place and I will not have plastic surgery to lift any of it because it's to painful from when I had it done to remove a problem I had when I was much, much bigger. I workout four days a week on the stationary bicycle and I know plan on doing weight work outs to maybe help tighten some of my sharpei look. I look better in my clothes then out of them. LOL People can't tell where I'm loose thank goodness. Thank goodness for clothes and I don't mean loose fitting either. I'm not looking for a model physique I'm looking to be healthy.
  5. Well for the little that I use them i'm loosing weight and I would have a worse problem if I ate the real thing of these products. I limit myself of what I have and that's okay with me. Each one of us has to do what they think best for themselves and in controlling what they eat. I am in control of my destiny and no one else is just like you are in control of your destiny and how you handle things. So do what you will with this information and you decide if it's for you.

    Help with stages

May I suggest you contact your surgeon or nutritionist and ask this question because each one of us is different on how we heal and how our surgeon or nutritionist want us to progress. I would not start anything without consulting with them.
  7. I would call your surgeon immediately and tell them of your problem. They will be able to help you the best with this question. Take care and good luck with your surgery. Keep us informed of what's happening with you.

    Feeling Great Today!

Just hold onto that feeling and it will continue to grow and get bigger as you loose more. Congratulations on your progress.
  9. I take two chewable Flinstones complete that includes Iron in it at night time. I've so far have had no problems absorbing it. The Flinstones were recommend by my surgeon. Good luck in finding something that works.
  10. Being nervous is so normal about having WLS. I never had a structure but I know that they can easily be fixed if it happens. Don't ever let someone or even yourself stop you from succeeding in this journey to better health and life. I am so happy with having gastric bypass last year and what it has done for me. I am lucky that I have a real great support system and have not come across anyone judging me. Your friends that are giving you grief are not friends because if they were true friends they would stand by you no matter what. Stand up for yourself and be selfish in taking care of yourself. Good luck with your surgery and let us know what happens. This place is great for support and understanding.
  11. I would check with your nutritionist about having trouble or your surgeon because they will have the best answers of what to do. When I was at your stage I used baby food to introduce meats and fruit to my plan maybe ask your nutritionist if this is exceptable to them. I would take it real slow I think your eating foods to early for your stomach but that's my opinion. Let us know what happens. Take care.

    Wound care?

If I were you I would be calling my surgeon concerning this immediately. They would be the best to answer this question because they are trained to know the answer. Let us know what happens. Take care.
  13. I have heard of them but have never tried them. I would ask your nutritionist what they think of them and if they have the right kind of Protein in them. I personally use Quest Protein Bars that are excellent in taste. They come in many, many flavors and are okay with my nutritionist to use. Good luck in finding one you like and is okay with your nutritionist.

    Protein shake blues

I personally use Jay Robb Whey Protein Powder in either the chocolate or vanilla flavors and doctor them up with either sugar free Torani Syrups which come in a multitude of flavors or Walden Farms carmel, chocolate or marshmallow dips. I like to experiment and see what I can come up with each time for a change of pace. I just made a carmel shake with some of the sugar free Torani and some carmel dip from Walden Farms and it was so good. I know of some people that use a small scoop of sugar free pudding to add flavor to the Protein shakes. I hope you find something you like.

    Bad Omen :(

You will do great I have a feeling this is just a slight detour in your path that you will go around it and come out the other side just fine. Life is so unpredictable and you never know what is going to be thrown at you but so far you have dealt with things very well and you will continue to do so. Watch something funny that will help lighten your mood. Don't let anything or anyone stand in your way of getting what you want out of life. This surgery will make you feel so much better about yourself. Just take it one small step at a time and chip away at what you want. You take care and the very best of luck to you for your upcoming surgery.
  16. Welcome to the site. I sounds like you are definitely on the right track in taking care of yourself and preparing for surgery. Just keep it up and everything will fall into place for you. Good luck with getting your surgery date and having the surgery Come back often.
  17. I've never have heard of going home with an open incision before so I can't answer that. Has someone been watching it for you like a home nurse? Do you have to go back to the surgeon for them to look at it? I think you should call the surgeon and ask them what you should do. Good luck and feel good.
  18. Caffeine acts like a diaretic in your system and it's to early for decaf coffee unless your surgeon says it's okay to have a little. When it comes to eggs you will be able to have them as soon as you are on soft food and I think cheese also but don't quote me about that. Glad to hear you're doing okay that great. Take care and keep coming back.
  19. As long as you are stable on your feet go for it. The more walking you do the better for you but don't over do. Take a few blocks at a time and work up from there. Great that you want to do this more power to you. Take care.

    Death and sadness.

I have also had loss in my life that was horrific. The first was my beloved Dad four days before my 19th birthday. We were still in mourning on my birthday but people that visited gave me gifts and a birthday cake to try to make it a little less painful that day. The second was in 2005 when my one and only brother died of kidney problems and I found him in his apartment. I was at a loss in my world. The third was when two months after he died my mother in law dropped dead in the middle of a party. The fourth was in 2006 when my beautiful 19 yr old niece died in her sleep of a grand mal seizure. She was just figuring things out of what she wanted to do. The fifth was a few month after that my favorite aunt died. The sixth was loosing my mom to acute leukemia in 2012. She was so proud of being a survivor of child hood cancer of the bone and never knew she had leukemia because we didn't want to tell her that cancer was going to take her life. The latest one was my favorite uncle last fall. I'm tired of funerals and loosing people I care about. I know that it's part of life but it stinks. I hope that it will be a long time before I loose anyone again. My heart still hurts everyday but I still go on with a smile as much as I can. To all of you who have lost I understand your pain and may you find peace again.
  21. I like my shakes that I make myself. I like to experiment with them by using sugar free Torani Syrups and no calorie products from Walden Farms. I like Walden Farms Marshmallow Dip and also the Carmel Dip in my shakes. By the way Walden Farms makes lots of products that are no calorie or fat. I can't eat to much poultry or meats so this is my way of getting my Protein in.

    Calcium supplement?

I use from Celebrate Vitamins the Calcium Citrate soft chews and I don't find them overly sweet. You might want to ask for samples of their different ones so you can judge for yourself.
  23. I originally was going to have the sleeve and prepared for it but both my surgeon and gastric doctor convinced me to have bypass because I had Gerds and the sleeve they told me would make it worse. I had the bypass and I'm doing very well. It's one of the best things I've done for myself. I got rid of the majority of my meds from having this surgery and I also got rid of my high BP, high cholesterol, diabetes, migraines, and a few others. I have no real problems eating either. I only have had one incident of dumping and that's because I ate to much of an omelet. First and fore most important is to go with what your surgeon recommends for you because they are the only ones that know your medical history and what would be best suited for you. Keep us informed of what you decide to do and good luck.

    Gum?

I have heard and read that it's a bad idea and each surgeon will give a different answer to this question. I just found this out that if you're one year out depending on your surgery my surgeons office said it was okay as long as you didn't do it a lot. I would check with your surgeon and find out what they have to say. That would be the best place to start with this question. When in doubt always ask your surgeon or nutritionist for the answers.

    Incision ooze?

Contact your surgeon immediately to report this and ask what you should do. Blood and oozing is not good. Check to see if you have a fever or not also. Take care and let us know what happens.
