    What ya eating tonight?

I've been craving pizza for a few weeks now. So, I decided to make one using a low-carb wrap. It definitely satisfied my craving! *All smiles*

    SLEEVE TO BYPASS REVISION

Hi all! I'm finally out of the hospital as of Tuesday! I was there almost 2.5 weeks. Whew! Being home is such a blessing. No one coming to draw blood, take my blood pressure at 2am, etc. I was borderline depressed while in the hospital. I've been going through so much since my first sleeve surgery in Aug. I'm finally ready to take my life back. Things are getting much better day by day.... -Candace SW: 289 CW: 256 GW: 170

    9 months progress

You look great! Your post truly touched me! I also had it rough these past 2 months since my initial surgery on 8/12. After 4 surgeries and being in the hospital more than I've been home (two 2-week stays, +), I've been playing the "victim card". I'm finally healing & ready to take back my life. No one said the loser's bench would be easy, but I'm determined to make it worthwhile... Keep up the good work!

    SLEEVE TO BYPASS REVISION

Hi everyone, Thanks for checking in on me. I went in for surgery for over 6 hours last Saturday. They found some more complications and I had to get tubed and drains placed. Fast forward a week, I should be leaving ICU soon, transferring to a regular floor. All my tubes are out (thank God). and I have 2 drains left. Unfortunately after recent work they found a blood clot in my lung, so I'll be on blood thinners for 6 months. Keep me in prayer!!!

    SLEEVE TO BYPASS REVISION

Hi everyone, I've been at the hospital (admitted through ER) since Friday night. I was close to being dehydrated, constipated, nausea, dry heaving and I had stomach pains. My surgeon has me NPO due to the dry heaving and he's taking me into the OR in an hour to fix whatever's wrong (possibly narrowing in lower part of my stomach and intestines -- per CT Scan). Pray for me! Maybe surgery #4 will be the one... (sigh)

    Stomach Problems

That's true! My son ate it as well and he didn't get sick. Uhhhh! Just when I was starting to feel normal post-op. Thanks!
  8. I've been having some very strange pain/movements in my stomach since eating a bad batch of chili (w/ ground turkey) Saturday night (5 days now). I'm assuming it was the ground turkey that made me sick because I let it sit 2 days after thawing it out (kicks self). The pain is not too intense (about a 4). But, the nausea and occasional "turning" of my stomach alarms me. It feels like I have a baby doing summersaults inside of me. I'm taking Tylenol Extra Strength for the pain, Zofran for nausea, and also a PPI. I called my surgeon who suggested that I go to the ER. I DREAD going to that place. But, I will force myself to go if I can't figure out what's wrong with me. I already have a scheduled appointment with my surgeon on Monday. Has anyone experienced this?

    SLEEVE TO BYPASS REVISION

Hi everyone! I was also revised from the sleeve to RNY. My initial surgery was 8/12/13. I almost immediately began having problems getting fluids to stay down. After episodes of daily nonstop vomiting and dehydration, I was admitted to the hospital on 8/22. I was NPO for most of my hospital stay. I couldn't even keep ice chips down. After a failed attempt of a balloon dilation, my surgeon went back in on 8/31 to correct my sleeve. I woke up in excruciating pain that evening. My heart rate was extremely high during the night. The nurses were very concerned. My surgeon came in that morning and told me that he needed to go back in to check for a leak. After 6 hours of surgery, I was revised from the sleeve to RNY due to a small leak in my sleeve. I've been doing much better since the revision. I'm hopeful that things will work out with my new pouch. Just nervous about dumping. But, I'm taking things one day at a time. :-) -Candace

First Post - Revised Sept. 1st

That's great! We have to keep in touch. I feel fine for the most part. I had pain on my left side, but regular Tylenol helps with that. I'm fine with getting my liquids in...I'm just having trouble getting in Protein. But, it's getting easier. How are you feeling?
  13. You'll be just fine. I was sleeved on 8/12, but I was apart of the 1% to have complications (had to revise to RNY). All of those from Vertical Sleeve Talk who were sleeved with me are doing very well. Good luck to you!

    First Dumping Experience?

I paced my sips for every 3-5 mins. This is probably the first time I've had anything with sugar since surgery. So, I'll stay away from it. Thanks for the reply.
