- I do not get dumping syndrome and I eat whatever I want. (sweets included) I stay very active and I use my food scale to measure out my portions. On weeks where I feel a little bit out of control I go back to counting calories. I also still weigh myself every Monday morning. I give myself a 5 pound swing either way from my goal weight.
All the best!!!

Hi Tami,
Congrats on your success!! Do you have support groups where you are? Nothing beats human interaction in my book. When I start feeling like I am going off track, I tell myself to live in the "now" and get back to basics. For me that means two things: Exercising for 30 minutes a day and keeping my portion sizes under control. (Keep using my food scale)
I tried kayaking this summer and I love it. So, maybe try a new activity?

I am open and honest with people about having had WLS.

I took two full weeks off of work. I had zero complications. I didn't have a lot of energy the first week. I didn't do anything around the house. I had help for that. I also don't remember driving at all.
All the best!!!

Congrats on your success so far!!!

I do 15/15. I still won't drink and eat at the same time. I know others post-op that do.

I started off eating the cans of shredded beef Jerky. It is made by Jacks Links. My NUT had no problem with me doing that. I didn't start eating the jerky until I was cleared for stage three foods.

I was cleared for any type of exercise ten weeks post op.

About a year ago, I had a female co-worker tell my good friend (also a co-worker, and female) that: "I never noticed Trever when he was fat."
I still don't know how to take that.
For the record I have yet to understand what women see in us men.

The only fruits I have tried so far are strawberries, apples, and watermelons. I have had no issues with those. I haven't tried bananas yet. They just don't sound good to me.

I ate my normal foods, but I tracked my calories on myfitnesspal. I was on a 1500 calorie a day plan.
