  1. I started the process at 224. I went into surgery at 214. Now i am at 188. My personal goal is 160. I asked my nutritious how to figure if I was on target. She told me to figure out how much weight u needed to lose to get to your 1 year goal and divide by 3. So mine would be 21lbs weight lost at 3 months 21lbs weight lostat 6 months and 21lbs weight lostmore at a year . Total of 63lbs. Hope this helps.

    OH OKAY AWESOME THANKS CONGRATS TO YOU KEEP IT UP (-;

  2. I am 3 weeks post op and have only lost 11 lbs since surgery (18 since 2 wk diet pre op). I am jealous of your loss. I don't understand why the scale doesn't move but I know I'm able to put on clothes that Haven't fit in years. Good luck and keep us posted.

    I'LL BE 3 WEEKS POST OP TOMORROW AND I'VE ONLY LOST 11LBS AS WELL I THINK I'M LOSING MORE INCHES THEN WEIGHT AT THE MOMENT BUT I'LL BE SO HAPPY WHEN THE SCALE STARTS MOVING DOWN IN NUMBERS TRYING TO STAY POSITIVE I KNOW THIS ISN'T GONNA HAPPEN OVERNIGHT /-;

  3. I don't even like eggs and I can't wait to have a mushy egg in a few days. Just a couple bites will be so nice. I also want some applesauce. I see my doc tomorrow for my 1 week post op appointment and he said I should be able to.move to mushy foods.

    SO FUNNY HOW THAT WORKS, THEY DID TELL ME THAT YOUR TASTE BUDS COULD CHANGE, YOU COULD NOT LIKE SOMETHING BEFORE AND THEN CRAVE IT AFTER THE SURGERY, WELL I DISLIKE PEAS AND I HAVEN'T WANTED THEM AND STILL THE THOUGHT OF THEM MAKES ME SICK LOL

  4. #butterfly85 thanks but I can only drink clear liquids for the first 2 weeks

    OH OKAY YOU'RE WELCOME , I'M TO ON CLEAR LIQUIDS FOR THE FIRST TWO WEEKS, MY DOCTOR TOLD ME I COULD START THE PREMADE Protein Shakes WHILE ON MY CLEAR LIQUIDS BUT EVERY DOCTOR IS DIFFERENT AND I TOTALLY RESPECT THAT, I WISH YOU THE BEST OF LUCK ON GETTING THROUGH THE SMELL AND TASTE GIRLY YOU GOT THIS NO WORRIES (-;

  5. Just wanted to check back in. I had my surgery on 3/31. Things are going pretty good. I am able to move around pretty well. Riding in the car is a little painful as I still feel every bump in the road. But it is getting better. I took off my nausea patch yesterday and I am happy to say that I haven't been nauseous at all. I was even able to go get a manicure and pedicure yesterday!

    Reading all of the posts, I realized that my diet is a lot different from most people. I am on clear liquids for this whole week. I can drink Water pretty easily. I've had sugar free popsicles and fudgsicles. Yesterday I tried to eat sf Jello but only made it through about 1/2 a container before I was full. I am not supposed to start Protein supplement drinks and smoothies (no added fruit) until Day 7. I don't start on mushy foods until week 3 (days 15-21). My head tells me I need to eat but my body is not hungry. I am looking forward to being to enjoy meals with my husband. Right now, he is trying not to eat in front of me. Even though I tell him it is ok, he is worried that it will be hard for me. I told him that next week I would let him take me out to a Chinese place that we like. I figure I can have the egg drop Soup.< /p>

    I am trying to keep positive about my weight loss. I have lost 13 pounds and I know that is a good number for 5 days after surgery. But I see some of you have lost 20+ pounds. When my mom had the surgery last year, she lost 20 pounds in the first week. I'm moving and not eating anything I am not supposed to. I know everyone is different. Maybe when I start with the Protein, more weight will fall off. I guess I am just being impatient...

    GLAD YOUR NAUSEA HAS WENT AWAY IT'S SUCH A YUCKY FEELING, THAT'S AWESOME YOU GOT OUT FOR A MANICURE AND PEDICURE I BET THAT WAS REFRESHING (-; THAT'S SWEET OF YOUR HUSBAND MY MOM DOES THE SAME THING TO ME WHEN SHE COMES OVER I'M LIKE MOM SERIOUSLY I CAN SMELL IT SO DON'T HIDE IT'S FINE I'M NOT HUNGRY LOL

    I'VE LOST 7LBS IN 5 DAYS SO NO WORRIES YOUR 13LBS IS GREAT IN 5 DAYS, ONCE WE'RE ABLE TO GET MORE MOBILE AND CAN EXERCISE THE WEIGHT WILL FALL OFF, I OFTEN HAVE TO TELL MYSELF BE PATIENT IT WILL HAPPEN SOON ENOUGH, WE GOT THIS GIRL NO WORRIES, GREAT HEALTH AND NEW BODIES SOON TO COME (-; HAPPY EASTER TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY

  6. Just want to say congratulations to all the losers here. It feels good to be on the other side now. My surgery www also on 03/31. I came home the next day but ended up back in the e.r on Thursday evening severely dehydrated. My bp was 84/48 and I just kept passing out. I spent 7 hours there getting fluids back. Yesterday and today have been great. No pain medicine needed only a Tylenol. I'm having a hard time with the Protein and head hunger. Even the thought of the protein makes me sick. I'm fixing some Unjury chicken broth to try right now and hopefully that will work. If anybody wants to chat I'm here. I have to say it's good to know that even though we are strangers to each other we can be the support team we all need. Good luck to everyone and happy losing!! :-) :-)

    I SURE HOPE YOU'RE DOING BETTER I HATE YOU HAD TO GO BACK INTO THE HOSPITAL )-; HOPE THE INJURY CHICKEN BROTH DID THE TRICK FOR YOU, I AGREE WITH YOU 110% IT'S SO GOOD TO KNOW WE'RE ALL STRANGERS TO ONE ANOTHER BUT CAN STILL BE HERE TO SUPPORT EACH OTHER PRETTY AWESOME I LOVE IT, YOU GOT THIS GIRL (-: HAPPY EASTER

  7. I was sleeved on 03/31/2015. So far so good. I spent one night in the hospital and was able to go home before lunch the next day. I still have the nausea patch that they put on me prior to surgery. I'm kinda scared to take it off. So far I have not really been hungry. I'm drinking lots of Water and have had a few sugar free popsicles. I haven't tried anything else. I get a tightness in my chest (like someone is squeezing and then letting go) after I drink anything or have a popsicle. It is real quick and goes away real fast. Every now and then it happens when I'm just sitting up. I think it is the gas from surgery trying to force its way out. My followup appointment is on Thursday. If its not better by then, I will take with my doctor about it. I'm trying not to worry too much. I'm excited for what the future has in store.

    GOODNESS I HOPE IT GET'S BETTER FOR YOU, I HAVE A LOT OF GAS IN MY CHEST BUT I USUALLY WILL MOVE AROUND OR WALK AND IT WILL GO AWAY I ALSO USE THE VOLUMETRIC EXERCISER, STAY POSITIVE YOU GOT THIS DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT TOO MUCH AND STRESS YOURSELF OUT THIS IS ALL NEW FOR USE JUST KNOW YOU'RE NOT IN THIS ALONE GIRL WE CAN DO THIS, THE FUTURE OF A HEALTHIER LIFE IS AT HAND I'M EXCITED FOR US BOTH (-; HAPPY EASTER

  8. I had mine on 3/30. I get to start squishy foods tomorrow. I thought I wasn't going to feel hungry but I did today and felt discouraged.

    DON'T FEEL DISCOURAGED GIRL WE'RE HUMAN WE HAD SURGERY ON OUR STOMACH NOT OUR BRAIN SO IT'S GONNA TAKE SOME TIME TO UNDERSTAND OUR NEW STOMACH I TOO HAVE FELT HUNGRY NOT STARVING BUT JUST WANTING SOMETHING MORE THEN Clear Liquids I'M SURE IT WELL GETTING BETTER FOR YOU WHEN YOU GET MORE INTO YOUR SQUISHY FOODS KEEP YOUR HEAD UP GIRL YOU GOT THIS JUST TAKE IT ONE DAY AT A TIME (-; HAPPY EASTER GIRLY

  9. I had my surgery on 3/31, too. Happy to connect.

    My surgeon also repaired my hiatus hernia during the surgery. I stayed 2 days in the hospital. I'm doing mostly liquids and a little pureed. I find the Protein shakes to be the easiest right now. I had a hard time the first day and night with heaving. Early on it was the anesthesia, but once it wore off, I started to realize that the vomiting was related to the pain button. Once I stopped with the pain meds, the vomiting stopped. My heartburn was pretty bad the first 3 days. It's getting better now. I'm on prilosec or nexium. Working hard to get my Water in. Sometimes Water hurts when it goes down. Trying to take very small sips of water. Sometimes I forget and take a big gulp - that hurts! I had a little bit of a headache today. I need to push water and get more Protein in.

    The only thing that concerns me is the soreness in my chest and back and pain when I try to take a deep breath. I'm asthmatic. I suppose the surgery is rough on the body and I know that the hiatus hernia was pretty high up. I'll give it another few days. Meanwhile, I'm practicing deep breathing to exercise my lungs.

    Glad to be on the other side of the surgery, though! Honestly, it wasn't that bad.

    WOW YOU ARE A TROOPER I'M GLAD EVERYTHING WENT WELL FOR YOU KEEP IT UP AND JUST KNOW DAY BY DAY IT'S GONNA GET BETTER (-;

    HAPPY EASTER
