    Having Children After Gastric Bypass

I am 15 months post op and 34 weeks pregnant. I was unable to conceive before surgery. One of my main reasons for the surgery was I hoped that I would be able to have a family. I have never been considered high risk and everything has been great. My best advice is to talk to your surgeon when the time comes and get all the info you can cause some OBs are not all up to date about rny. I'll answer any questions if you have more.
  2. More than likely you will since you are so early out but you need to get into your OB, your nut and your surgeon. Congratulations and good luck!!!

    Gall Bladder

I personally had more pain with my gall bladder surgery then with my rny. Bad gas pains and just overall felt like crap for days.

No energy....will my doc suggest bedrest

Take care yourself. Dehydration will happen a lot if you don't keep fluids in ya. Trust me...I deal with it a few times a month and usually can get myself back on track. Few times I've needed a IV. Good luck and try as hard as you can to get fluids in.

No energy....will my doc suggest bedrest

I doubt they will put you on bed rest just cause you have no energy but then again I'm not a doctor either. Its part of being pregnant. I quit my job cause all I did was sleep and throw up my first trimester and I'm still fatigue at 17 weeks. I know everyone cant do that but maybe cutting back on hours if possible may help. Talk to your doctor and see what they say. Good luck.
  6. Talk to your doctor. I take 2 prenatals a day along with the rest of the pills I have to take since surgery. I used to only take one as that was used as my multi Vitamin. Congratulations!!!!!

    Overeating?

My surgeon, OB and nut are all on the same page. I have a plan in place by all 3 and know what I can and can't have. I've also been told if I'm craving something to go ahead but not to over do it. Which I don't cause I will get sick. I've been told to gain weight (25-35lbs). I am eating healthy and doing exactly what I've been told. Thanks anyway.

    Overeating?

I agree. Im just glad the scale isn't moving much. Ive lost 13 pounds since I found out I am pregnant and have gained 2-3 back in the last couple weeks. Im ok with that. Im 15 weeks. Now just want to find out what I'm having and feel him or her move.

    Overeating?

I am always hungry and feel like all I do is eat and eat. Not always good food either. I dont eat nothing like I did pre op but a lot more then I did pre pregnancy. Lol.

    Family unsupportive

Im really sorry to hear about how your family wont support you. I dealt with the same before and after my surgery. I went into surgery that day with only my husband's support and no one else. I was ok with that cause I had worked hard and was determined to have this surgery. We all have our own personal reasons why. My family came around and was really supportive but I became thinner then them then it all went to hell again. Jealousy will also be a huge problem later on but its the truth to be told. Keep your head up and keep reminding yourself why you are doing this. I will never regret my decision no matter what. My family and I are no where close like we used to be. Which is really sad cause I am now pregnant. I lost friendships I've had for years but thats all right. I have new friends which has been a plus. Keep your world full of happy and positive people and it will all work out.

    Help after Surgery ?

My husband works nights too. I didn't have anyone here with me. We did have my inlaws on standby if I needed them but before he left, he made sure I was comfortable in my chair, had Water and my pain pills next to me and anything else I would need. I was perfectly fine. HW:331 SW:319 11-26-12 CW: 196 8-16-13 GW:170

    baby fever

Im almost 10 months post op and 12 weeks pregnant. Its been a long 8 weeks. I'm 30 pounds from my goal but this hasn't been easy. I'd recommend waiting at least 12 months so you can get yourself figured out cause this can make things worse. Those 6 weeks I couldn't eat without getting sick, couldn't drink without getting sick, had nausea 24/7, had horrible fatigue and honestly wished someone would have killed me I was so miserable. Im extremely happy and blessed but its been very hard. I know exactly how you are feeling cause I did the surgery for the same reason. Waiting a little while longer will be the best. Kinda wish I did but apparently someone had a different path for us. Message me if you'd like to talk. Good luck and it will happen. HW:331 SW:319 11-26-12 CW: 196 8-16-13 GW:170
