babysteps reacted to futuremrsparker in Sleeve or bypass? Help!
I was on the fence with my first procedure as well. I went with the lap band because it was less invasive. Needless to say I am here now and getting revised to gastric bypass this Thursday-- can't wait!!! I alway advise people just go for it and do the whole shebang! Lol I regret the time and money wasted with my lap band so much! Finally I'm on the right path!!!

As a once Abused child and battered wife and fat girl you need to get help. It's so easy for ppl to say shut up stop crying over it. It is a lot harder to do so on your own I think you getting help is what will help you get over it. I have three kids of my own my oldest I had at 17 My first marriage ended with me in the hospital with countless broken bones. I don't let my past run my life and I don't Play the victim card because the longer you play it the longer you are a victim to stop being the victim you have to get help and get over it. I say this with a understanding and loving heart I know your pain but I know it can be overcame

So I've been seeing a lot of your posts the lasts couple weeks and have to wonder, after all the crap you've been through...are you in therapy? For starters you had an abusive relationship that no doubt has a lot of baggage that requires working through. Now you're apparently chronically I'll and again that has a lot to work through as well....
I know this doesn't answer your question or solve your problems but just wanted to make sure you are getting the help you need....

Thank you so much for sharing your story with me Abby and I'm happy to hear that after a long journey you have lost all the weight and are happy. Although there may be some ups and downs you have reached your goal it was all for a great cause. I have been so scared ever since I spoke to my doctor last week and I have even reconsidered the whole thing but I worry if I don't I will continue to struggle with my weight. Chatting with everyone online has helped me and hearing everyone's personal stories has given me the strength to go through with it.

Ok June ppl lets get to know each other. I have been down this road once had the sleeve 9/26/12. I would like to share with you some of the tricks I learned.
1: Get a ninja blender Or a magic bullet It can make snowcones you just add Crystal light or Dasani Water drops to the ice Blend away and eat it with a Toddler or dessert spoon . Eat as many as you like all day and night huge help.
2: Start playing around with your preop diet now test it out for a day or two see how long you can do it. I did this 60 days before I had to do mine and by the time it was for real it was a walk in the park and I did not cheat .
3: Start playing around with puréed food yep see what's good now. I did this found some good things was a lot easier and less of a struggle when it came to what do I eat it wasn't foreign or new to me because I tried it out first. chicken breast gravy blended up. Hormel turkey chili little bit of cheese blend it. Fat-free refried Beans plain Greek yogurt green sauce packet from Taco Bell little cheese blended up.
4: Start taking all of the required Vitamins now.
5: Protein protein and more protein Don't buy a lot of it your taste buds will change. For the first two or three months after surgery by only sample packs or small sets of protein Again your taste buds will change.
6: Start making a walk routine now. Walk 3 times a day for 10 mins each time. By the time you are done you will have a 30 min walk in.
7: If you smoke stop smoking now this was hard for me to. Soda pop drinkers you might want to cut back coz like smoking Cold turkey Sucks. These two take some time to work out of your life . Ok that's all I have ATM I hope this will help all of us June ppl to have a leg up and do the best we can do
P.s yes I know my typing sucks its this iPhone I think it hates me lol
