Hello,,

My name is Barbie Hancock-Capehart,, I am 36 years old,, and I live in Chattanooga, TN.

I had my weight loss surgery on May 09, 2012 at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, TN by Dr. Jack Rutledge.

 

I had the RNY gastric bypass WLS over 15 months ago.

I have lost a total of 125 lbs,, and I am off all my Type #2 Diabetes medications.

It has been over a year since I have taken anything for high blood sugars or high blood pressure.

I have lost nearly 7 pants sizes. I would have never thought I would be wearing a size 11/12 by the summer of 2013 !!

I would like to lose another 15-25 lbs and firm up these muscles. This is my goal for the next 3 months or so.

I am currently working out with a personal trainer and following a some what vegetarian diet plan with fish and chicken. I try to limit my beef intake to once a month. Steak is the hardest to digest.

 

I drink flavored teas mostly. I do not drink colas or coffee. I have had a few alcoholic drinks in the past few months and all drinks like that, knock me for a loop !! Just takes a little !! I would only recommend a few alcoholic drinks every 3 months or so. Alcoholic drinks makes me bloat.

 

I cannot eat breads or thick pizza crust. Carbs are bad anyway. Theres only certain kinds of crackers I can consume,, and Cheezits are no longer part of my diet. They give me really bad cramps and gas. Saltines are still a part of my diet when I am feeling nauseated. Otherwise, I only consume wheat thins with my laughing cow cheese wedges.

I cannot drink skim milk anymore. Not even with cereal. I have tried to eat some amounts of ice cream with protein and I always get nauseated and feel the need to dump. But I can consume large amounts of Cheese, greek yogurt and low fat cottage cheese for lunch or dinner..go figure !!

 

One of my cravings that truly worries me..is my craving for sour gummy candy and twizzlers !! I can eat this kind of candy without getting the dumping syndrome !! and the only chocolate I can consume is 70% dark chocolate.

 

This was a difficult craving that was hard for me to break,, but I am dealing with this, and I am controlling my wants and needs with other things rather than food cravings.
