thanks guys! they just stuck a needle in my back to remove some of the liquid in my lung for testing. gross n painful. tomorrow theyre gunna knock me out and go in and drain the whole thing. after that i should get my breathing back. i hope.

yeah i hear ya. im able to eat solids now. tuna with pickles is my fav! funny cuz i hated it before surgery lol. now i love it! its hard for me to get all the liquid and protein in. i need 70g of protein and its hard for me to get more than 50

thanks. i got the lap band 3 yrs ago too! im only 17 days post op. i was 10 days post op when i was readmitted for 5 days. if you feel short of breathing at all call ur doc right away. i figured it was nothing. but ended up being alot more i have started reading more and scrapbooking. theres not much i can do though. my back/neck pain from the abcess doesnt allow me to do much. and when im on the pain meds im sleepy. have u had trouble eating? i literally have to FORCE myself to eat/drink lol.

im still very short of breath so i cant do much without feeling like im going to pass out. and people have noticed. i see them stare and it takes everything i have not to flip out on them. im home alone during the day so i dont go out. i still need someone with me when i walk.

i cant use the chat cause i do this through my phone :/ maybe we could do a mass email thing ya know. like just start a convo thru email. also if anyone wants to text let me know. im always texting. plus im pretty confined to my house til i feel better. so talking to someone helps pass the time

finally being released after this 2nd stay. this surgery has put me thru alot in just 2 weeks. theyre sending me home with a pick site iv. uncomfortable experience. its sore n i really hope it feels better soon. they took the catscan n nothing had changed so ill take iv antibiotics at home for 2 weeks. blah. deff didnt expect all of this

hey guys! i had surgery 2 weeks ago and its been a very rough 2 weeks at that. stayed in the hospital for 4 days when i had surgery cause i had pneumonia. then came home for a few days. i just spent the past 5 days at the hospital because the pneumonia came back and they found a fluid abcess in my stomach area and very shortness of breath. sent me home yesterday with a picc line IV. basically an IV that goes all the way to my heart. ivve lost 26lbs so far which im very happy about. but my shortness of breath is still here. thats my nutshell lol.

this is my 4th day back in the hospital. Feeling tiny bit better and im finally able to sleep on my side without much pain. i have no clue when im going home doc says he wants to watch the liquid abcess in my stomach. not to mention the pneumonia im tryin to stay positive. its discouraging tho.

Its so hard to stay positive with these complications. Inside me Im fidgeting to get out there and live this new life. but on the outside im sore and depressed. tomorro ill be back in the hospital for 5 days. i did everything right after surgery. you never think you will be the one with complicationz. luckily its nothing too bad. pneumonia and a liquid abcess near my stomach. but its only so long sitting in a hospital before u wana go crazy :/ hope i dont sound like a baby. im just frustrated.

im sorry i have asked for email buddies before. its just that i cant get on this site sometimes but i always have access to my email. i hear where ur coming from. and i would surely post something if i had good info from those emails. and sometimes i dont get responses on here as fast as id like.

yea i was told decaff coffee only but i havent wanted it since surgery. and i kno my doc would say no to the chips lol cuz sugar and fat. he doesnt go by cal. hes says sugar n fat n too much makes u dump. im sure after a yr i wont be as sensitive but im def gunna follow him cuz his patients always succeed the chips sound yummy tho

yea i would deff stay away from french fries. they arnt the best choice. and usually the bad choices are the easier things to eat. idk y but i kno it sucks. if u want fries i would do sweet potato fries and bake them dont fry. my mom makes them fresh and theyre amazing with a lil salt and pepper

i feel ya! i have brand new 14s and 12s in my closet from when i lost weight on the lapband. with the way im loosing weight with the rny im sure ill at least wear the 24s this summer and i def shop at the stores that sell stretchy jeans like jcpenny and old navy. that way the smaller sizes fit quicker lol

i totally agree anjela! why would anyone go thru this just to resume their bad eating habits. i wonder if she realizes how much more she would loose if she didnt eat all those bad things. i dont even crave sweets or soda....i look at them and think " thats the old me". and like u, even if i did want them i wouldnt even try out of fear of getting sick. its just not worth it.

congrats im 12 days out n down 30lbs! i know the weight loss is crazy right? lol. i kno how ur feelin bout tryin to think positive. i spent 4 nights in the hospital after surgery. 2 more than normal cuz of pnemonia. went home n felt alright. but i was so out of breath the other night i called my doc n he sent me to the hospital. ive been here 2 nights with advanced pnemonia and a liquid/ air pockets near my stomach. deff discouraging but i keep saying my prayers. def a day at a time is the only way to go. sometimes even an hr at a time lol.
