  1. I had my lapband surgery by Daniel Jones MD at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA. I'll be having him do the revision to RNY or one of the other two surgeons in the group. I'm confident in all of them and the care that hospital gives.

I'm looking to join the RNY side of weightloss. I too hope this site gets up and going. I just noticed that it just started in June so ......how will they get the word out?

    Liquid Hell

two days before of liquids? I WISH! I'll have to do two weeks of liquids with just one regular meal well if you call their small list of choices regular. HAHAHA Still I know it's for good reason...need to get that liver fat down so they surgery goes smoother.

    Unjury protein powder is awesome

I tried the powder back in 2006 when I first got my lapband and I didn't care for it. I imagine they have improved it since....I think I'll have to try this again. Do you use the unflavored one?
  5. Appointments went great and have an ultrasound scheduled for next week. Just an information session to attend, that ultrasound and pass in a 4 day food journal and I'm done with my part. Then we wait and see if I'm accepted as a candidate for RNY and the date will be set. I'm excited and nervous has heck as well. This is major surgery for sure so not to be taken lightly but, I'm excited to know I'm in the process of getting help to the healthier me. Oh I went through hell with my lapband for sure. It's a wonderful tool if it doesn't slip on ya but, boy oh boy once it does...forget about it! I'll never get those years back! I hope everyone stays active here. I'm looking forward to traveling this journey with you. There is a new tab that has groups. Should we create one?

    Medical ID Bracelets

You're very welcome. They really are pretty. I'll be getting one myself. Once you have the actual tag...if you know how to make jewelry you can make others to match
  7. Thanks Leslie! The visits went very well. I have to go back next Tuesday for an ultrasound - making sure there are no gall stones and I have to attend an information session which I'll do this Thursday. That's it...then the bariatric team meets once all my visits are set to decide if I'm a good candidate for the surgery. Once they decide, I pick a surgeon meet with him to sigh an aftercare contract and I get a surgery date. This is the same bariatric group that did my lapband so they have my full file so that helped. They've changed a few things since I went through the program such as now they have a two week liquid diet pre-surgery and that was explained to me today. I do hope this site gets busier with members. Are there only a few right now? I now LBT was super busy and so full of information. I hope this one gets busy too. Thank you for your replies Leslie...I appreciate it

    Medical ID Bracelets

I actually had one in the beginning for my LapBand. There was a website that made them and a girl who made the bracelet part. They were very pretty.....I think the website was called something with the word Hope in it. I'll try to google it and come back with the name.
  11. Hello everyone, I too had the lapband and I was actually a moderator for Alex on LapBandTalk but, ended up leaving shortly after my band was removed in emergency surgery. Initially the band was put in Feb of 2006, I had revision do to a slip in Dec 2008 then I had the band removed in Feb 2010. I couldn't have revision surgery then because my stomach was inflamed and like I said it was an emergency. I was in Radiology for a swallow study after days of intense reflux and feeling like I was cooking from the inside out...during the testing we immediately saw that no Fluid was leaving my stomach. In the end, the radiology report stated the band that was once facing my left shoulder, was then facing my left foot. Out it had to come and that day, they even called my surgeon while he was in surgery. I went through a whirlwind of emotions and here I am a year and a half later realizing bypass is for me. The first year with my band I lost 80 pounds then all the trouble started. With that trouble I went up in weight with all the unfills etc and now I'm up 53 pounds. UGH! So tomorrow is my first day back to the bariatric center....to start the process. I'm seeing the Director of the center for an exam, a nurse for evail, bloodwork, nutrionist and the social worker. I hope it all works out and I can go through the process quickly. I want to begin my new journey. I hope too that things become active here. I know I will be participating for sure. Sites like this help so much and I'd love a buddy to walk the journey with.
