caligirl3 got a reaction from Eli Alexander in Top 10 bucket list after weight loss
    Love this!!!
There is so much in my life that is right already, so this list seems pretty superficial. But here it is:
    1. Family portrait
    2. Join local scuba dive club that I've been lurking on for a year
    3. Take a dream trip (again diving) with a single parents group
    4. Meet mr right, and fall in love again.
    5. Buy a new wardrobe
    6. Be a lap swimmer, like every day before work
    7. Learn how to do yoga
    8. Play active sports with my kids
    9. Get a mommy makeover (TT and lift)
    10. Teeth bleached

Hi everyone! I'm a newbie, and am starting my process. Looking to get sleeved by the end of the year as a xmas/birthday present to myself. Turning 42 in January, and since I'm 30 I've been on EVERY diet in the book. Done with all of that, and making a decision to change my life forever! Can't wait to get to know you all.
BTW, I'm in South Orange County.

I am 2 1/2 years out. It will be 3 years at the end of November. I started out at 418. The first 100 lbs. just melted off. The next 50 lbs. were more of a struggle. I have found myself at the same weight for almost 9 months now. No gains. No losses. Just hanging at 268.
I have a few issues that I struggle with. I am not interested in plastics, but the more I lose the more I just look like a deflated balloon. This is wreaking havoc on my self-esteem. I know that I am healthier. I have engaged in activities in the past year that I never thought that I would be able to do again...camping, hiking and canoeing to name a few. I just wonder how much more gross (this is my word for myself) that I'll look when I reach a truly healthy weight.
I have never had one of those sleeves that make you vomit, but I have restriction and I respect it. I don't push my sleeve. I just make poor food choices. I have gone completely down the slope smack dab into carbs and sugar. Waffle for Breakfast. Veggie fried rice for lunch. Black Bean Burger with bun for dinner. A Pop-Tart and tea before bed. (Picking up on the vegetarian vibe?) I just can barely look at tofu and the premade veggie Protein products are so sodium laced.
I also admit that I abhor exercise. I was going to yoga 3x per week. Then I started having serious back problems. A herniated L4 & L5 with nerve root compression that causes mobility problems with my left leg. I went for 3 different injections, steroids and other, with a minimum bed rest of a week after each one. I totally lost my yoga mojo.
I did the 5 day pouch test. Yes, my sleeve still works. I lost 7 lbs., but I felt like I wanted to eat the arm off my couch. I get legitimately hungry now. Not head hungry. Like my sleeve growls at me hungry.
I know that this is a long post. I'm hoping that there's someone out there with a similar experience or positive encouragement. I beat myself up enough. I've stayed away from the boards for a very long time feeling ashamed for not being at goal. I don't want to hide anymore. I just can't seem to kick myself back into gear. It's like starting from square one except I'm in the 200's instead of the 400's. Anyone? Thanks!

Day 19 here (12/4/13), and down 16.5 pounds. It's slowing a bit, averaging 3-4 pounds a week now with a large first week's loss... I'm happy about that.
My surgeon puts us on 3 weeks liquids before we can start on the puree stage, and I'm going out of my mind. I'm so sick of sweets, it's driving me nuts. I'm drinking a lot of Soups, and I confess this weekend I ate a small handful of goldfish crackers with my pea Soup. I mashed them up in my mouth until very soft and sipped my soup, so it was like a puree consistency.

I'm just dying to eat something! I cannot wait for Wed. when I can!

Oh yes, one tip I learned...stay in the hospital AS LONG AS YOU CAN! If you can stay 2 or 3 days then I definitely would. They have all the meds and equipment that you could need and by the time you leave you'll know if how you're feeling is normal instead of being at home and coming into the emergency room for every air bubble. I know it's boring (my room didn't even have a tv!) and you have kids or a life you want to hurry and get back to, but I'd definitely recommend it.

UPDATE: I'm officially 7 days post op today and feeling great!!! Really! I can't lie, the day I woke up from surgery in the hospital (last Wed) I felt like I had been hit by a bus! It was really bad, but they got my pain under control immediately. Was in the hospital for 2 days. The nausea was the worst part for me. But as long as they gave me zofram for nausea I was ok. By the day I left the hospital I was feeling good. I'm still on pain med & anti-nausea meds but I'm just sore, and I think that's more from doing stuff around the house. Mornings I'm a little more sore than other times of day. I'm able to puree veggies and put them in my broth now which is a fabulous treat, lol! I find that I really have to chew things down to mush or it does feel like a hard bubble trying to down and I've realized what my "full" feeling feels like, so I'm learning to listen to my body.
Best part...I'm down 10lbs.6oz! I couldn't believe my scale this morning so I kept weighing myself over and over and it's definitely on track. I feel great! Can't wait to eat regular food again (healthy food!). I'm using this as a reset button on life. I've been given a "do over" and am now learning how to eat again, but the right way. I also can't believe the energy I have. So far having the surgery seems like the best decision I've ever made. Like a huge dark cloud that was hanging over my head has broken apart and is flying away. Best of luck to those awaiting their independence day!

Good luck all Dec. sleevers. I was sleeved on 12/4 and I'm down 13.5 pounds. Today is my 2 week weigh in, I've been stalled at this exact weight for 5 whole days, and I'm hoping to see the scale move soon!

    Good morning friends...
Been up since about 2:30. I highly recommend a little something the night before if you have anxiety. I slept well (for the time I slept) and I feel very calm this morning.
Leaving in about an hour....can't wait to see you all on the other side.
God bless everyone who is starting their new life today.
