donaboss got a reaction from mamato2 in Starting liquid diet again
ThNk you!!! I was just gonna say that. Who said we were eating junk food? I am just trying to say that I can eat more than 4 ounces. I don't hAve to take sips and I only drink Water, no sugar liquids. Did I try pizza? Yes I have . Can I eat more than 4 ounces? Yes! All I eat is healthy food which doesn't bother my stomach. I know I started with 213 and my doc said I won't lose as fast as others who are heavier and I was stuck at 178-180 for like 3 weeks so I started my liquid diet again to help the weight loss. Ohh and my last doc check up apparently I have this bacteria I forgot what is called but it makes u bloated and slows the weight loss. Next month is my 3 month check up and they will be giving me antibiotics. It's funny how people judge others so fast. Just bc I can't lose 50lbs in one month does not mean I'm eating junk! and I understand mamato2. Thank you for answering her question for me ... We are on the same boat.

Tell me about it. I can't live without aleve and I only take it during this time of the month. I don't take it for anything else. I know this will probably damage something inside my sleeve but I will have to deal with it because there was no way I could of came to work without taking something. I hate liquid Tylenol and it doesn't even help.
I haven't seen you post lately hope all is well

donaboss got a reaction from sleevethefatbehind in I love water and i cant stop drinking it
When I had my surgery dec 30 and cleared to drink on the 31st I couldn't even drink a sip of plain Water. I was drinking juices diluted with water. Week 2, I went back to work and I had water and fell in love. I don't just sip, I can drink 2-4oz at a time within seconds. I drink a 16oz bottle at night. I literally wake up several times a night for water. First thing in the morning I drink oz. I never drank juices after that day I started drinking plain water. I was a coca cola addict and guess what? I don't miss it at all. I don't miss juices and I have no interest in them. Is this normal guys? Like I can drink a whole bottle within minutes.... I hope so..
The only thing I really dislike is not being able to drink after I eat. Today for the first time after my meal I waited only 15min and had a sip of water and I had to vomit. That is when I realized that yes I did have the sleeve haha.. But right now I am on my second bottle.
Ohh did I mention that I am getting 80g of Protein a day and taking all my Vitamins? Please knock on wood that this doesn't change. And my carbs are low and so is sugar and fat. I workout 3 times a week and walk Monday-Friday during lunch. I am so freaking motivated to workout that I never want to stop.
Ok going back to doing my homework just wanted to share this with you guys..
So is this normal? I'm not going to die from this right haha..

He first 3 weeks I really struggled with Vitamins and Protein. There were days I wouldn't take my Vitamins and forget about the Protein. I tried every single one that was recommended to me and I would gag at just the smell. So I was only getting 20g of protein the most a day. I was getting really upset and wanted to give up but I didn't. I knew that each day would get better and I ha you wonderful people to give me advise.
I walked 3 miles a day between walking during lunch and at the gym.
Yesterday I started soft food and my protein was 63g which I was sooo happy. My NUT said it's a must that I get 70g a day.
A friend from here named Linda has given me great advise. I was at a stall because during mushy food I started eating mashed potatoes(not often but at least twice a week) and watermelon(3 times per week) .. She explained how the potatoes have the carbs and the watermelon have the sugar. I listened and stopped eating them and got cottage cheese as a replacement. Prior to surgery, I hated cottage cheese. My co-worker told me to get the whipped and I was surprised how much I loved it. I listened and my stall is gone..
Today, I didn't each much yogurts but I added thin sliced turkey an light cheese, tuna, light mayo, Quest Protein Bar and I was soooo satisfied. (Not at once of course) ..
I worked out at the gym for 1.5hours as well and I had so much energy..
Why am I happy with my sleeve? Well I use my fitness pal and use a personal diary to calculate my food and here are my results for today....
    Drum roll please haha
Cal-593, fat-19.5, sugar-10.1, carbs-36.8, Protein 80.2g(OMG this made me soooo happy). I was shocked that I am above goal of what my NUT told me. I feel full and satisfied. I am so motivated and have lots of energy.

I chew gum everyday several times a day too... I never swallow my gum and therefore I don't have a problem. Surgeons say don't chew gum because god forbid you swallow the gum, you will have lots and lots of complications. My nut said I can chew gum as much as I want as long as I don't swallow and like I said it never happens

Honestly by then you should be fine. Try to eat food with Protein as much as you can. Cottage cheese was my favorite food during week 3 and 4. Light and fit Greek yogurts are great too. And if you are I to Protein Shakes than that will be the best choice. Make sure you have a bottle of Water with you at all times. Don't forget the Vitamins and make sure you chew slowly of you don't want to have any gas or acid problems

donaboss got a reaction from michelle68 in I cant believe how happy I am with phase 3
I am beyond happy and pleased. Last night I had my first meal which included a piece of thin deli meat and a slice of cheese and it was delicious. Today for lunch I made a tuna salad which included dice onions, light mayo and lemon and pepper and I LOvED it. It tasted sooo delicious and my sleeve loved it and accepted it. I was so scared that I was never going to be able to eat again but that was not the case. I took care of my sleeve though and I ate by my doctors rules and ate very slowly. I was so scared to eat the tuna but I felt normal again. I could cry from happiness. Only my mom, 2 sisters and 3 closest friends knew of my surgery and now that I am eating more "healthy" food the rest of the family are not suspicious. I try to eat every 4 hours just like I am told too but sometimes every 3 hours because I do get hungry. I also work out so for 4 weeks I ate between 300-420 calories and yesterday was the first day I ate 690 calories and I did burn 390 at the gym. This is my phase 3 so not sure how much calories I should be eating. I make sure each of my meal had lots of Protein and low carbs. Just a week ago I was barely getting 20g of Protein and yesterday it was 63g I was beyond happy. I also take my Vitamins everyday it's part of me now and I don't want to get sick. I drink lots of Water especially at night I have a bottle next to my night stand and I am surprised how much I drink. I used to love sweet food but I am starting to hate them a lot. Like I loved my yogurt in the morning which is light and fit Greek yogurt and now I am finding it to be really sweet lol. Not complaining because sweets are the reason why I got into this place.
I have a lot of energy. I work full time and I am a full time student taking 6 classes and I still make time to go to the gym 3 times per week and I walk everyday during my lunch.
Knock on wood, I have to gas or acid problem at all. I wish I could use the bathroom more often but I will get there soon enough. Sometimes I think I did not have the sleeve at all haha. I remember the first 2 weeks were hard and everyone told me how it will get better to hang in there and I would say to myself no this will never get better but it's true it does get better. Just have patience and you won't believe how fast time flys.
Ok going to do homework now, I just wanted to share something positive.

Ok going to do homework now, I just wanted to share something positive.

donaboss got a reaction from michelle68 in I cant believe how happy I am with phase 3
