    OMG October 2013 Post-ops

I am down 63lbs since surgey which doesn't feel like much to me, I know it is but after being in denial for so long about the weight I had gained I just always felt this size. But I am having the same problems with grazing, and my mom said you aren't eating that much but your eating a lot over the course of the day. I think I just need to stop snacking. Or if I want a snack I drink a protein drink. I have also found that gluten is awful to me now. I ate some cookies (I know bad choice) but it took me two days to recover from the stomach cramps they gave me which is probably good. I had my 3 month follow up a couple of weeks ago and I just feel like I should be further along. I have 137 more pounds before I hit my goal. Also when is it okay to incorporate raw veggies again?

    OMG October 2013 Post-ops

I am almost 7 weeks out and I have lost a total of 46 pounds since I started my pre op diet. I don't have any real food problems except artificial sweeteners turn my stomach. Super sweet things make me feel sick to my stomach too but I am fine with that since I am trying to avoid all those things. I try and get at least 30 minutes of walking in a day and it is so nice to not sweat to death doing so lol. I was talking to a friend and I felt like 46 pounds wasn't enough and he told me I lost a 5th grader haha that really made me feel better. Pre preop diet weight 376 SW 356 CW 330 Total inches lost 9.75

    Why Am I So Hungry?

I am hungry a lot too! I am 6 weeks out and my NUT looked at me like I was crazy but I do get hungry. I wonder if it is because I don't eat enough. Sometimes I worry that its because something went wrong and surgery was just a prank lol.

    Ugh!

People have been congratulating me (the few who know) and telling me about all the babies I should have now lol. I did call my mom but it was in the middle of the day and the convo went something like "MOM! I don't know what's wrong with me but I have been really mean to my husband for 3 days and now I am bleeding a lot!" "Sounds like you need to go to the store and get some midol and some maxi pads sweetie."

    Ugh!

Thank you for the perspective! I never thought of my weight loss like that. 10% does feel more impressive :-). I never thought to talk to my doctor, but it makes sense too because I have been diagnosed with primary amenoria. I knew this was the place for advice!

    Sleeved On Oct 28Th

I am doing great I have been on solids just over 2 weeks. The hardest part for me has been eating slowly. Nothing really bothers me, except sweet things turn my stomach. I haven't had any nausea or vomiting. I do have a hard time getting in enough protein and that might explain my stall. So far I am only down 39lbs.

    Ugh!

So I am 31 and have been overweight my entire life, for that reason I have never had my period. I just always thought lucky me and never really gave it a second thought. Well here I am 5 weeks post op down 39 pounds, getting my first period. I am not going to lie I freaked out a little, I called my mom and my sister lol. I have to say I knew I might get my period after I lost a lot of weight, but 39lbs isn't that much and I have recently been at this weight and never had my period. Has anyone else had this happen? Oh and periods suck! I could never relate before now all I can say is I am so sorry!!!

Try using smaller utensils so you take smaller bites. I have been eating ground beef, chicken and various other meats for just over a week and I have been feeling fine except when I take bigger bites then I feel awful. I was sleeved October 31st.
  10. Ask for non time released tablets. You won't have to crush them too long, mine were small enough to take whole. I am 3 weeks out and am allowed to take pills that are any size again.
  11. My surgeon didn't use a catheter or binder. Crazy!
  12. Yoga pants, the ones you can roll down. A big shirt with a tank top under it (the tank didn't move much so it didn't make my incisions hurt) and a jacket. I am cold all the time now.
  13. 16lbs since my Oct 31st surgery. 37lbs total with preop diet

    Shedding/thinning Hair!

I asked my doctor about Biotin and he said taking extra won't do any good. He did say the hair loss goes away at around the 1 year mark and usually starts to grow back.
