My surgery is Tuesday at 3:00pm. I will be thinking of you.

I am nervous and excited. I have been heavy my entire life. I can remember as far back as age 4 and having to shop at Sears in the Pretty Plus sizes for girls. Tomorrow will be the start of a new life for me. I would appreciate all your thoughts and prayers.

A normal weight loss pattern is not a sloping line. It actually looks more like stair steps. So there's really no such thing as a stall, you're just on a stair. Hang in there.

You will be in my prayers, but you are going to do terrific. keep us posted my surgery is a week after yours

It is actually both the low carb and calorie restriction. The low carb part causes the body to get it's glucose by breaking down stored glycogen in the liver and muscles.

Dont regret not eating your favorite foods. You will be able to eat them again, that is if you want to.
I think you will find that your tastes will change after your surgery. Sweets will be too sweet, fried foods too greasy. This is your chance to break a cycle of bad eating, rediscover food in a healthy way. In a few months, you wont even know why you missed some if the foods you crave now!!

I'm starting my two week liquid diet next week, so trying to prep. I like the word OPPORTUNITY and will try to look at it that way. It might not always be easy, but she's right - this is two weeks out of my life and the beginning stages of my new life.

I should be getting my date for surgery today as soon as I pay my surgeon copay.. I have my preop appt on Wednesday. I have already begun the liquid diet...its not so bad

OMG I am approved.. it seems so surreal. It seems as if I have been waiting for this day forever. Spoke with Aetna and they said they called the surgeons office yesterday (sunday) why would they even attempt to call on a Sunday. I sent my drs office an email advising them.. Now I just need a date

Aetna has 14 days to respond to the request for approval. It took exactly 14 days for Aetna to notify my surgeon of approval.
I have a bmi of 45 and have been over 40 for the past 2 years, but have no co morbidities.
My surgery is scheduled for Oct 11th. I'm so excited.
