I think 1" per 35 is exaggerated. Things are more prominent and visible, but fat loss ain't gonna give you more than you started with. Also depends on how you carry your weight and how robust the fat pad is beneath your pubic area.

GotItDoneInHarlem got a reaction from Miss215 in Gas pain
According to the doctor the pains I'm feeling are most likely gas pain (flatulence not surgical gas). It could also be my body's reaction to whey Protein Shakes. I've bought vegan pea Protein shakes and I'm trying those today to see if it helps.

Be patient and don't freak out when you hit plateaus. They're going to happen no matter what you do. The post-op diet may be boring for a while but you'll get used to it.

GotItDoneInHarlem got a reaction from GreenTealael in Sleeve to RYN No restriction
I feel the exact same way. I had a sleeve to RNY revision and I worry about my restriction. I have no restriction on liquids and feel like I'm eating way too much. I've been told that once I'm on solid foods that the restriction will become evident. I'm hungry to. I've found that eating something small once an hour helps. I've been living off of yogurt and salmon for the last week. I doubt that either of us had a fake surgery, but that's what it feels like sometimes. I had the revision at 178 pounds (for GERD) and have lost 5 pounds in two weeks. I don't want to go below 160, but I think that's going to take some time.
I think we need to just take deep breaths, follow our doctor's orders, and trust in the process. It's going to be okay.

My reflux is gone! I was taken off protonix yesterday one month post-op. I haven't had an EGD done yet but will soon.

I've been doing well with the bypass. Do I like it? Yeah, I guess. It's has totally cured my GERD!

It's all of the fluids that you were given in the hospital. My weight was higher after surgery and stayed that way for about a week. It'll go away.

GotItDoneInHarlem got a reaction from FluffyChix in I'm so mad - revision denial
Insurance was a major hurdle when I had my sleeve, but it was approved very quickly when I needed a revision due to GERD. I had already had a motility study, a pH study, and endoscopy done by the time I applied though.

I'm so sorry about this. Can it be appealed?

GotItDoneInHarlem got a reaction from themonk4u in Outpatient or hospital stay ? American Surgey Ctr.
Could this be because of insurance? When my RNY was first approved it was only approved for outpatient (23 hours or less). My surgical coordinator appealed it and got me one night in the hospital.

A blender would be a good investment. I blended whatever Soups I wanted to eat, but typically just strained off the broth and drank that.

I feel you on the sweet stuff. I like taking a can of chicken noodle Soup and straining off all the broth and drinking that instead of another sweet shake. Also, if you're a thai food fan, straining Tom Kha Gai soup and drinking the broth is AMAZING.

Not sure there's much that can be done about this. Taking Gas-X will help you eliminate is easier, but the new stinky farts are here to stay.

I took off 2 weeks and found that it was the perfect amount of time for me. Still struggle with energy in the afternoons, but it's manageable.

GotItDoneInHarlem got a reaction from smund in February Surgery ?
Hang in there. I've had a sleeve and a revision to RNY and both times pain control was very effective. I wouldn't worry about the pain.
