About Me

Surgery Date: Monday August 26, 2013
Surgeon: Doctor Pete Rantis - The Kane Center

Hospital: Alexians Brothers Hospital
Heaviest Weight: 417
Weight day of Surgery: 389

Height: 5'11"
Weight Goal: 200

My name is Jorge and I was an average build kid growing up through my second year of undergrad (ranged between 195 - 200 pounds). I was super athletic and an active player on softball and volleyball teams. I then started gaining weight and topped off at 417 in April 2013. I could not believe I stepped into the 400 mark. I tried every diet, workout program and I did have some success where I lost (150 pounds) by dieting and working out, but that lasted for a year (I could not sustain) and I started to gain the weight back.

I was so depressed and I started doing allot of research on the sleeve and educated myself and found the best surgeon in Illinois (The Kane Center) and opted to get surgery with Doctor Pete Rantis, who is amazing!!

I was sleeved on 8/26/13 and cannot wait to continue changing my life, eating and living healthier. Becoming a better me for my wife and two boys.
