barbmeow got a reaction from MzO in I'm my own worst enemy
It has been 11 days since my surgery, I remain exhausted too. Pain is very little but I can not stop sleeping. I walk 25 minutes a day, and then sleep a great deal of the rest of the day.I was going to go back to work after 2 weeks, but working 12 hour night shifts, there is no way I am ready. I am ususally one who bounces back fast, but this has kicked my rear. I tried to go to a party yesterday. Stayed for an hour and left only to sleep the rest of the afternoon and night. I am only eating about 400-500 cals a day and maybe this is why, but wow, I would like my energy back. I hope we get it back soon.

barbmeow got a reaction from gamergirl in What Role does the scale play in your life?
Gamergirl, You are a success, the scale is irrelevant. You are going to go home and throw it in a closet and pull that stupid thing out once a week. That wicked, horrible, evil thing called a scale causes us to doubt ourselves, not taking into consideration the myriad of variables that go into a digital or fluctuating needle value. What did you eat, how much salt did you ingest, where are you in your hormones cycle, what did you drink before you weighed in, what were you wearing, what is the barimetric pressure today.I could go on but you get my point. You follow your plan, you inspire me, and others to get out of our ruts and spice up our food in a healthy way, you work hard and well, you help other sleevers and encourage us in a way few other posters do, that is your success. The fact that you have lost 25 pounds is just a little diamond necklace on top of your success. Stall Schmall, numbers will do what they want. How is that skirt feeling, anymore room in that blouse?
That is way better gage, than a lying cheating number on the scale.

barbmeow got a reaction from gamergirl in Today I am....Depressed
Post operative depression is a real phenomena. Plus factor in we sleevers can not eat what made us happy before and voila instant depression. I hope it will go away as we see our lives improve, weight wise, health wise. I would admit feeling bad, and let it be for as long as you need it, then kick the bad feelings out the door as you go for a walk. I do not want to sabotage my surgery by feeling depressed. If you can not shake it then profesional help might be needed.
