Hello everyone, It has taken me quite a few hours to catch up on the past 2 days of posts ( I was out of state overnight) I had to do a little at a time, but I finally finished. Laurend-I cant wait until 1 egg fills me......I usually order the Man size Breakfast and can down that like nobodies business. Lynette-Glad to see how well you are doing and all of the weight you have lost so far....WooooHoooo!! Chimboree-I am prone to UTI and I usually go 2 round of antibiotics to kick it out totally-I feel for you!! They usually come on so sudden for me and really knock me out. Im reading so much about the pre-op diet and I have to say.....I know this sounds crazy....BUT I CANT WAIT UNTIL 7/23 TO START MINE!!-because then I know that I am truly only one week out!! Welcome to all the new people....you have picked the most supportive....and active threads out here....... 3 weeks from today.....I am so freaken excited!!!! ***I am leaving for a cruise next Sunday--my very first---I am scared that I am going to use this as my last hurrah and eat my way through the atlantic.....I start my liquid preop diet the day after I come back!!!!

Frustrated.... That is an unbelievable story!! These insurance company guidelines are ridiculous. After all of my pre-op testing my insurance co changed and the new one required that I go for 6 mos. of weight loss counseling with my primary care dr. But, after speaking with my Lap-Band Dr.- I couldn’t really lose anything because then I would no longer be eligible for surgery because I would be under 40 BMI..........So for 6 mos. I had to play the lose 4 lbs, gain back 4 lbs, lose 5 lbs, gain back 5 lbs. Lynette--as far as you step daughter goes, from my experience with my daughter- take her lead as to how you should deal with this event. She might be mortified (like my daughter was) and not really want everyone knowing or making a big deal out of it. My daughter did not want me telling anyone. She just wanted to make everying normal as possible. When she comes over, feel her out and then proceed.

james2539- have you tried different flavors? What about just adding flavoring like from your pantry- coconut extract, almond extract? (or is that off limit also.....just a drop or two??

Lynette-you are just amazing me. I hope all goes as smooth with my surgery- Hopefully after 4 c-section, gallbladder removal, and hernia repair operations, I am going to just sail through this one. My screen name is very clear-----I am doing this only for me!!! Anna

James- I heard the opti shakes are hard to get down. My nutritionist said that I could use the Designer Whey shakes instead from GNC. I havent started my pre op diet yet, I am getting banded on 7/30 and starting the diet 7/23... Goodluck, I know that I am very gaggy and I am so afraid that the shakes are going to make me puke!!

Hello all, I am having surgery on July 30th and my pre-op diet starts the week before. I am allowed low salt/low fat soups (no cream soups)-opti-shakes, jello, fat free milk. Its funny the variation of the diet, length of diet, and whether the dr recomends one at all.

Lynette, and bfyneNtyme....Congrats............I am glad to hear of how smooth everything went and how well you are both doing. It has give me a calmer spirit. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

[Go to TickerFactory.com to build your ticker counter. Chose weight loss and then select your tape from the many choices. Once you've selected your tape, hit "next" to choose your marker, then hit "next". Once it's complete, highlight the tape and hit "ctrl+c" to copy it. Then in this website, go up to the top and click on "UserCP" and select "User Signature".
