I am very early in this weight loss surgery process. I'm going to have my first weigh-in on Thursday after being on a required weight loss plan for the past month. Needless to say, I'm hungry! This afternoon, I needed to go to the CVS drug store that's about four miles from my house. Remember that I said I was hungry? This is a list of what I had to pass on my way to CVS: 2 fast food taco places, 5 hamburger places, 4 pizza ones, 3 Mexican restaurants, 2 donut shops, 2 Subway sandwich places, a deli restaurant, 2 Chinese restaurants (one a buffet), a steak house, a sports grill, a fried chicken place, an Italian restaurant, a Starbucks, A BBQ place and a wine bar. Behind the CVS, there is another pizza place and another Mexican restaurant. And I had to go past them all again to get home. This is just ONE street!!! It's no wonder I'm in the shape I'm in!! However, I will say that I didn't stop at any of them. I came home and had a Protein shake and a forth cup of almonds. But I really, REALLY want a Whataburger!

Scylla reacted to Miss Mac in Why is everything on the pre and post op diet sugar free?
Artificial sweeteners were a stepping stone for me when I did Atkins years ago, but gradually over time became a powerful crutch. I had become used to my food tasting sweet. I was putting that stuff in chili, tuna salad, salad dressings, just anything and everything in massive amounts. When I got my sleeve, I began notching down because here I was eating all natural healthy food, but adding sweetener to it and also drinking all those chemicals.
This past week, I decided to dropped them entirely and just drink Water 95% of the time. And guess what? I broke a plateau and lost four pounds in a few days! So, I am thinking the sweeteners were holding me back. Well, whatever the science, I am convinced that sweeteners and sugar are both not for me.

I'm going through the same thing. I was sleeved almost 6 weeks ago. Most people in my office think I just had gall bladder surgery (which I did). My boss and two co-workers whom I trust know that I also had the sleeve. People are starting to notice that I've lost a bunch of weight, so I'm just telling them I am exercising more, avoiding carbs and generally trying to eat less. You don't owe anyone an explanation. Oh Sharon.... *hugs*
You definitely don't need that kind of negativity in your life. It sounds to me like your former friend is jealous of you (or in serious denial about her own situation). In any case, she sounds like she needs to see a psychiatrist and potentially get some meds, STAT!
It sounds to me that she is posting various places about what happened with your friendship in search of validation of her crazy actions.
It sucks to lose a longtime friend, but you've decided to make this wonderful change for yourself and your health and that is what's important. Surround yourself with positive, supportive people.

My favorite is Syntrax nectar chocolate Truffle. Also, it is 100% whey Protein. Some of the others mentioned are not.
If you do a search of "protein powder" you will get THOUSANDS of results (and opinions) where people have asked the same question. I'm only saying that in case you don't get a lot of responses here.

Not to be mean or insensitive here but your former friend has some serious mental health issues...each person has to find their path in life and someone wanting to control ur life is not nor never was your friend. your decision to become thin is really not affecting her...she jealous that u will be successful
Whereas her previous attempts at thinness ended in failure. She wants u to be miserable with her. Let's be honest who chooses to be obese and have tons of obesity related illnesses. Be glad she ended the "friendship"..

Oh, blah blah blah. Your friend is a wordy b**ch.
    Fataphobia...whatever.
She has created this whole little 'proud fat girl' identity for herself, which is fine, but it's her way of staying in denial about her own weight issues. She doesn't want to feel ashamed, or unattractive, or embarrassed about her weight so instead of trying to loose the weight she embraces being fat as this whole spiritual and emotional side of herself.
Your friend sounds like she is very smart but in some serious denial. She's also wicked manipulative to label those around her who want to loose weight as negative fatophobics. That's insane. And the fact that she continues to blog about you just shows how SHALLOW of a friend she is. There are some people who won't stand next to a pretty girl...skinny girl...successful girl...because they feel like standing next to one shines a spotlight on their shortcomings. She is insecure and I would place money on the fact that she is also secretly unhappy with her weight.

    Wtf???????????
Omg my blood is boiling, it makes no sense to me? She wants to be around people that positive about their bodies but dumps you when you make the decision that you want to love yourself?
It's not healthy to be fat FOR MIND BODY AND SOUL? Why should you have to "accept" it and suffer in order for her "mental health" to be stable? It's your fucking life!! YOUR MENTAL HEALTH AND PHYSICAL HEALTH IS THE MAIN PRIORITY, forget her. She mustn't have been a great friend to begin with.
It sounds to be that she's maybe jealous because she knows you're going to succeed? One if the first lines was "us fatties" so I'm assuming she's overweight and in denial with the "fat acceptance" bullshit.

I read some of her testicles double standard ranting... And I only have one word for it. Disgusting.
How dare she act like you are hateful for taking care of yourself, cutting of, so to speak, a lot of pounds of useless weight... Oh wait she did that for you when she cut herself from your life. I would send her one and only one more correspondence... Use your name and you will sue her for defamation.
Let her go, as they say, goodbye to bad rubbish. she's on her high horse, so either she has drunk the fat acceptance koolaid, or she its so jealous she can't see straight. remember... Living well is the best revenge. Good luck

Guys, I was just there. I panicked until I posted basically the same exact thing. We all expereince this. Just remember to drink a TON OF WATER!!! And enough Protein. And make sure that you are not snakcing in between. Everything will start to work itself up again. Your body just realizes that it lost a ton of weight and doesn't understand why. I was in my stall for about 3 weeks. It's frustrating, but this too shall pass.

I am right there with you! I am 6 weeks out and saw my NUT at one month out. At that point, I had lost 14 lbs. since surgery. She thought that was great--an average of 3.5 lbs. a week, she said. But it seems so darn slow to me!

If you think you are a failure...You are not!!!!!!!!! the weight is fluctuating yes but not packing on. So you are doing things right.
I encourage you to get back to basics. And for now..Stop eating the bad stuff until you have got it under control again.....Try liquids for a few days..2-3
Back to Protein first ( dense Protein ) Veggies, fruit and carbs...Complex carbs....
1 cup of food at each meal and 64 oz of Water a day...Not including coffee or tea
If you find you are hungry after working out..A few nuts will do the trick.....
The only time we fail is when we give up and stop working at it..And you have not.....There is no option but to keep trying and working through your issues...There is no down time...It is the rest of your life....
I was sleeved on Nov.6 2012......what a year eh!!!!Congrats for coming back for help!!!! your going to make it..Maybe not today or tomorrow but it is not a race it is a new life style that we all have to embrace...forever!
