Congratulations on Phase II; the secret of success is plenty of protein and water. It sounds like you have a solid grip on your puree diet. Hmmmm...Hummas, sounds interesting, I will have to try some.

Good points about the dehydration. I know I am not getting in enough, though with each day (3 weeks today) it is easier to get plain water in larger amounts. And kudos on being creative with your pureed foods! I never thought to combine all that. Would have been more appealing

What a coincidence, I never in my life would have thought I would ever eat whatever hummas is but my husband went to the store a little while ago with hummas on his list!!

The funny thing is that since I was cleared for the puree diet, I have kept favorites from my 2 week liquid diet - V8 - yogurt - soups - applesauce - etc. being my go-to favorites along with Premier Protein shakes and Ice water cut with 50% filtered water (tap water in NJ is the pits)...
I guess we find foods that we like and discard the losers (UNjury products w/undertaste).

I'm having my sleeve in 3 weeks and it really helps to know about "eating" post-op. Today I am making some bone broth (good for healing) to go in the freezer. I am lucky to live alone and not have to deal with the food needs of family members, just the animals.
Do you feel comfortable moving around and doing things at this point?

Try Against all Grain, its a Paleo cookbook one of my coworkers bought and she has made a few things. They are fantastic and healthy.

YES. I can so relate to the mindless eating being repulsive! My husband does A LOT of this and while I love him, it is killing me. Today we went out and I got two soups. One was just too thick, but I could lick the spoon and get the taste and that was nice. He had one bite, which was great because there's no way I could have the whole thing even over a week and in no time he was almost done with it! I handed it to him and he was all embarrassed. I really don't have much tolerance for mindless eating even though I totally did it! Weird.

Thanks for sharing. I am in the "considering" VSL stage. I am truly inspired by the stories I am reading here. One of my biggest hesitations is my fear of not getting enough water. I have always been a huge water drinker (no pun intended) and I am fearful that I won't be able to get enough in.

Congrats on a very successful surgery. This is exciting. My surgery is Monday (Bea, I'm the 16th also!), and I'm just really hoping for an "easy" time. My surgery isn't until 10:00, so I'll probably be a basket case by that time, but I'm hoping for some nice relaxation drugs while I wait. Keep up the great work!

Good job staying focused on why you are doing this! It's going to be really difficult sometimes but just remember why you are doing this and why it is so important for you and your health! As a bonus you'll be able to start checking things off this list and it will affect your family in such a positive way! Congratulations on your upcoming surgery and I pray it goes off without a hitch!

I suggest not buying a lot of protein powder or drinks up front. You may get sick of them and will be able to get enough protein from regular food.

Right there with you. My surgery is Sept 17th. I switched a few weeks ago to half liquid and half lean and green diet a couple weeks ago and dropped 8 lbs.
    good luck with your surgery.
