    Day 2 Post-Op

It wasn't as bad as I had thought. I had the same fears everyone else has, I kept my eye on what I want in life & pushed through my self doubt. There are people who have complications, But you get that in any surgery. Well in anything in life. There is no guarantee. I personally have tried so many diets & group garbage & pills. The time was right, I know people who have had success with all that, I also know a couple ladies that had major things happen from taking diet drugs, 3 to be exact. 3, 1 had a heart attack & in doing great now the other 2 had strokes & have life long effects. that was when I decided that was it, I started looking into this surgery & did tons of hours of research, & went to all my pre-op appointments & listened & took note. This is only a 1/3 of the tool to get the weight off. I have just started & hoping to be able to keep going forward. Good luck to you as well.
  3. How long is he out? That bites big time.
  4. Good Luck everyone who's having surgery today!

    August Sleevers?

If you have Sams club you can get that there.
  7. Home & in my own bed. In my own clothes! I already feel even better just being here. Plus I can sleep the way I want. Hope everyone else has a good recovery. I have to give tons of gratitude to my Surgeon & Surgical team.
  8. Made it thru surgery! Took about 2 hours Had the sleeve & hernia. Doing ok, on oxygen about 2 hours after, some gas pain, went to the bathroom. Already & up on my feet walking in my room twice. Still light headed, so they said no laps quite yet. It's still early. So there's still a lot that could happen. Time will tell. Just remember while in the hospital to Breath Deep as you can, it helps with the gas pain. Move you feet while in bed or sitting, helps prevent clots. & walk ASAP Good Luck to everyone that's doing the surgery today. & any other time.
  9. I'm not hungry at all. I'm so ready for tomorrow to come, I hope all have a good go & speedy recovery onto the next chapter of our lives. Pre-Op 13th day

Last day of Solid foods. I can say I am ready, a bit stressed but ready. Extra Dessert Delights are my saving grace, normally when I get stressed I eat, this time I go grab a stick, break it in half & chew till the flavor is gone... that & drinking lots of water, today. tomorrow is 4 protein shakes & 64oz water. the end is in sight, just have to make it through. so many epiphanies! I am thinking its all part of the process. I got the fridge stock for the family & a weeks worth of meals for them, 3 casseroles & 4 crockpot meals, all just have to have someone bake them or put them in the crockpot. so in reality they should be good for awhile. plus I got some broths, sugar free jello's, case of water, powerade zero, crystal light, isopure premade drinks, some powder mix with anything protein & of course chewable vitamins. washed my sheets, brought a couple more pillows in my room, have a bunch of books, dusted off my running shoes (for walking) also have a nice broken in pair of crocks (if my feet are swollen) pulled out the Huge heating pad, found my rice heating bag. also had the best idea ever, no I did not read it on a thread here, although i'm sure lots of others had the same idea, I pulled out a couple of the small shot glasses to use to measure the liquid intake. also dug out my kids baby spoons for a few weeks down the road. I am sure there will be something, somewhere that I forgot or overlooked, but for the most part lets get through this misery of surgery & recovery. the end result will be worth it. God Speed to everyone that is going to go through this surgery.

    Pre-Op Diet days 4-12

Well technically day 12 isn't over... but the end is in sight. just waiting for my call so I know what time surgery is! I'm kinda nervous my head is full of they didn't get the papers, they misplaced the order, the person who is suppose to call is out for some reason... oh well, it's a good lesson in patience! aside from that I have done my best to keep myself busy! maybe to busy, I still haven't had a chance to put a bag together for the hospital. this past week I finally got my water intake down, my proteins have been on target. I have also had lots of time to reflect & to think this is the best decision for me. it will be difficult, painful, & what-not. But that's how life has been anyway. at least I will have a great tool.

Am I just playing w semantics?

That's what I have kind of been thinking about this surgery, with all 4 of my kids I knew when I was going in to be induced. I have kind of taken that approach with my whole thinking. this is a major welcome change, that will lead to a Happier, Healthier life.

    Pre-Op Diet days 4-12

    Got the call! 6:30am Monday.
  16. I found out the past few days why I haven't told to many people. I actually had someone whom I thought was a big help for me in the past tell me, I was taking the easy way out. I about wanted to burst into tears. I held them back & said, you obviously have no idea what this is... Now my decision is solid. No one else will no. I don't need that in my life, it's part of why I am the way I am, I don't need approval from anyone, this is my life & I'm taking it back for me.
