Sleeved now 2 years and s/p lower body lift 7/2015????. Maintaining well.

No pain pump. And really no significant pain. It was hard to get around but I was good. I also took this thing called a Go Girl so I wouldn't have to sit that was awesome.

Thank you AngelaE. I personally choose to be open with the whole thing despite some of the negatives that come along with that. There is no face of weight loss surgery and we can't all be put in a box. It's been a great experience with both my sleeve and my lower body lift and I've been blessed to have things go so well and have no major complications from either surgery

Wow!! Back2Barb78, you look great!! I haven't lost all my weight yet, but my butt and thighs already look like your before picture. A plastic surgeon at home told me that they can't do anything for celulite, but your butt went from looking bumpy to looking smooth. Besides the Tummy Tuck, what did they do to your backside to make it smooth? And is The Ariel Centre the one that is attached to The Grand Hotel in Tijuana? Did you have Dr. Medina Sanchez? Sorry for all the questions, but I'm excited that there may be something that I can have done to make my bumpy thighs look good!

Ok so for my butt he took ALL the fat out. All of it. Unfortunately now it's flat!! I wanted it "smoothed out" not all gone but to be honest with you when he was marking me in the back my companion walked in the room and we got on another subject and I didn't tell him to leave a lil something back there. But another medical person I know told me to tell him to take all the fat cells out (which I never did say) and I believe that's what he did. I might have to get a butt later!! I did not have a complete tummy tuck I had a lower body lift for which I had skin removal and a new belly button and outer thigh lift and the fat removed from my butt and a bit of a lift. My butt is not that high though. Tummy tucks usually involve muscle layers being seen together and your tummy being done. I didn't get my muscles done.

How long did you stay in TJ after surgery?

Did they recommend a recovery house or hotel?

Pain- did they use a pain pump or administer Exparel for the first several days?

My surgery was on a Monday and my projected d/c home date was Saturday and that's when I went home. Went to the doctor daily. You stay at the hotel but you have to have a companion with you the whole time or you have to pay for a nurse. That was for my surgery so you have to speak to them about your own to get the rules for what you are having done. I would bring someone with me anyway to handle luggage running errands while there, etc. I hired a nurses aide that I brought with me to take care of me for a week. As far as pain I barely had any! I was expecting to be in a tremendous amount of pain and there was minimal. Everything is numb. I was put in the same sublingual toradol I got when I had my sleeve done. I did purchase some extra to bring home and that came in handy with occasional pain. The main thing was my back was sore from having to walk hunched over for which I took Tylenol. The pain I had was getting in and out of the car and in and out of the bed sometimes but I modified my whole house preop so I could do things for myself with minimal assistance. Congratulations! Once you get past the recovery, you will realize that this is one of the best things you have ever done! I had a Tummy Tuck after losing 60 pounds, about 6 years ago. Unfortunately, I have gained all of my weight back, and am thinking of getting the gastric sleeve in Mexico to get the weight back off. I always did do things backwards! LOL! But even with all of this weight back on me, I still love my tummy! I'm happy for you, and wish you the best. And BTW, can you tell me how I get information about cosmetic surgery in Mexico? My daughter now wants a tummy tuck, and I want to ensure she gets the best she ca get. Can you guide me to a website or contact info for whoever did yours? Thanks, and more congrats! It is a long recovery (at least for me it was - they cut my muscles too and shortened them so I had a lot of pain), but hang in there. You look great already!

I haven't posted any pics in my gallery yet since I just had the surgery. I'll probably post more when I get home and get more settled. The whole low hemoglobin fiasco kind of took away from the picture taking ????. I will definitely take some soon and post because I did take some before pics.

How long until you can fly home?

Is that going to scar?

Where you put under for that?

I live in California and my home is 2.5 hours away so I don't have a flight. It is going to leave a scar absolutely. I plan to take good care of it and as with all scars avoid sun exposure. It's such an even scar front and back if I don't like it i plan on getting a girly tattoo over it ????

I was not put under general. I received spinal anesthesia with sedation. I was exhausted though and Dr Acosta (my anesthesiologist) said I slept through the whole surgery! I just got back from the OCC getting my final Iron infusion. They are very cautious and conscientious with their plan of care and the whole team makes their opinion known. So thankful????.

Decided to post here as well. I'm day 2 postop from my lower body lift with Dr Medina at the OCC. I must say Dr Medina, Dr Jimenez, and Dr Acosta were absolutely amazing. My results look so good and I just have to work on healing. I have a bit of a road ahead of me since I lost a lot of blood during surgery and my hemoglobin dropped very low. I think that that was partly because I was so busy in the days leading up to surgery not really resting. I definitely have to take really good care of myself to get optimal results. I'll post a pic from yesterday!

Everything went well. I got released today though. I had to stay an additional night since I had a pretty significant blood loss during the surgery but I feel great! My tummy looks really good. It's so weird because it's all numb. So far so good

Here at the Marriott. Just woke up. Today is the big day for my lower body lift!!

It's true. I looked at the clock when I got on the table for the anesthesia and it was 12:15. I was given a Water and made to get up and walk at 4pm. I'm not sure if it's technique or what but I was never on any narcotic like I see people mention. Weird right but I'm didn't question it!!

This post honestly could not have come at a better time. Had my sleeve done there too and I'm scheduled for my LBL 7/13/15 with Dr Medina and am getting very excited about it. I know this will be very different from my sleeve though. Getting the house prepared at this time is my main concern and getting in optimal condition for recovery preop with my Vitamins and Protein supplements. Thanks for posting!!

It's just not mentioned because all you have to do is email them and they will give you a quote literally the same day????. Nothing shady about it. It is part of the paperwork that you sign as a patient stating not to discuss pricing online that's all. They give you a quote and don't hassle you in any way after. It's super simple????????

Thanks girl!! I'm doing awesome. Soooo happy. I'm going into the plastics phase now. I'm getting a lower body lift in July and new boobs/inner thighs in Oct!! Can't wait????????????
