I have to do my annual review at work today. what can I say? I come in every day and do whatever you need me to do the best I can. I hate my job. that is all. ugh.

Will someone PLEASE tell my hair that it belongs on my head?! Thanks.

So i only lost maybe 3 pounds since surgery on april 21st is this normal
-
That's 24 days....and I dare say not so normal. have you seen your bariatric team for follow-up? Eating too many carbs in your soft phase may slow you down (bananas, pudding, noodle, mashed potatoes, etc). You definitely need to reach out to your professional team. If the family is sabotaging you, tell the to Knock it off.

So I had surgery almost two years ago. Everything was going good until Nov 2015 and I stared to gain wait. No matter what I do I can't seem to lose it. I know that I still can't eat a whole lot. I can't work out like I need to b/c of my back. I am going to be getting the Spinal Cord simulator, so because of that I can't work out. but I haven't worked out from day one. So what has changed!? Nothing. I I don't want to get big again!

I am getting a stimulator implant later this month. I am just waiting for insurance approval for the five-day trial. Yeah, stagnant weight or a gain is my concern too, but I have resigned myself to the fact that at least the protein will help me heal faster. Since summer is nearly here, I will be able to walk outside more. I wish you the best.

Keep the noise down... It's bedtime!!!

Last night I tried to dye my teal hair brown... but the shade was just a smidge too light. My hair is puke green today.
-
I feel ya. I have been dying my hair reddish-blonde for twenty years, trying to keep ahead of natural red going old lady white. Last time, I tried a darker shade of red since the white is not taking color anymore. Well, it was tooooo red, so I went with a blonde color closer to the shade of my eyebrows. Some went blonde, some stayed white, and large streaks went PINK. Oddly though, I don't hate it.

Riddle me this... At what age does one become too old to have a 'girlfriend'?
-
I'm 64 and he refers to me as his girlfriend. He is 65 and I refer to him as my boyfriend, gentleman friend, or "Um-Friend" It depends on who is asking.
The term "Um-friend" is for when I don't feel like I have to define the relationship at all. We are together 10 years now. For the Nosy Nellies, he is my ummmmmmmm-friend.

I had a stupid dream that I had my sleeve done and I came home with no pain at all and started eating cooking. I was so upset in the dream!! AHHH bad night lol
-
Well, the "no pain" part isn't so bad. My first couple of post-op days were pretty lousy, but after that it was just a matter of working my way through the meal progressions.
Once you get to the puree stage, you can introduce familiar flavors, just not anything with bits or hot spices. Take your lean meat and and veggies, run it through the blender and strain it. I even had pot roast this way. Baby food was horrid. I don't see how babies eat it.

My fiance is getting sleeved on March 2nd - I'm looking to connect with any spouses like me, especially those responsible for the family meals. It's not as easy as I'd thought to find really good resources for spouses.
-
How sweet that he has a supportive angel on his side. His bariatric team should provide him with solid info. The post-op diet goes through five stages: Clear liquids, full liquids, purees, soft foods, and regular cooked foods. The Mayo Clinic gives a good example of what most of us follow in some similar
form.

This Broth is nasty af!
-
Make your own. Bake a chicken. Save the meat for something else. Take the carcass with the meat bits still on it, and simmerl it in 2 quarts of water along with a couple of carrots and celery stalks and an onion chopped up - for a couple of hours and then season it how you like it. Save the veggies for something else. Store bought broth sucks.

So on January 6th I had my surgery. I am down 22 pounds, but I find myself obsessed with the scale. For the past three days he has not moved in either direction. I find myself getting frustrated and I want to know how others have handled this craziness. Thanks!
-
I was sleeved January 6th. I am still really tired. My starting weight was 216 (day of surgery). I weighed myself this morning and I am 196--which is so crazy to me. I am still really tired, on pureed foods--so hummus, cottage cheese, plain NF yogurt etc. I feel so free in the sense that I am not constantly thinking about food--but also a bit sluggish. It's amazing. I can't wait to go swimming--one more week.

I am to show up at the hospital for my sleeve, gallbladder and possible umbilical hernia operation Tomorrow Tuesday Jan 26th at 11:30. 2 days after my 60th birthday. I can't think of a better way to start my 60th year on this planet. Just think next Birthday I will be thinner and hopefully able to walk. Please say some prayers and wish me Good Luck.

If one more person tells me "You don't look like you needed LapBand Surgery." Grrr. Thanks but No Thanks. Whatever.
