So to add to the stupid comment. Today I went down to lunch to warm up my Soup. Mind you I am 5 weeks out as of today and down 23 pounds. My lovely manager is siting there and she asks in front of about 8 people, so how much have you lost(she asks this almost everyday) I said well I am the same as friday. She proceeds to say, "well you would think the weight would fall right off of you" like i am going to lose 100# in a month. I said well I am happy with my progress actually. She is determined to show that I am either not following things right and eating dorittos for every meal, or that this is such an extreme step and it doesn;t work. Well F*#k her is all I have to say to that

mummytolewis reacted to VSGKirk in Does the sleeve make food a non issue?
8 months out and everything seems "normal" and "routine" for me - that's a good thing! I don't feel like I'm doing anything really different or special. I just make better choices now and eat in smaller quantities, not because I feel like I "should" more like because I "have to". It's just the way it is... so yeah, total non-issue!

I took my littleboy to see despicable me 2 yesterday and bought him popcorn and Pepsi max I also had a couple of mini cheese crackers bags in my bag for him, I had a cup of tea, It doesnt bother me so much because its my littleman I took him to McDonald's after for a happy meal and again I had tea, I just figure there's no point avoiding these situations because you just gotta accept you, ve made a positive change to your eating and life goes on and I wont deprive my littleman the occasional treat.

mummytolewis reacted to gamergirl in Yummy Lobster bisque high protein post-op full liquid
Omg I just made the best lobster "bisque". I made it up as I went, hence the note below.
Half an onion sliced thin
3 cloves garlic smashed
1in ginger sliced thin and julienned
5 Campari tomatoes
1/2 head cauliflower
3 c chicken stock
2 tablespoons pesto
1 lb frozen langoustine or lobster (see note below)
Salt
Pepper
Sauté onions, garlic and ginger until browned (I used ghee, you can use fat of choice or spray w Pam). Pour in chicken broth and dump everything except frozen langoustine. Season with salt and pepper. Cook until veggies are tender. Put in langoustines and cook over slow heat until cooked through.
Purée Soup until smooth and voila!
Note: We took out two cups of Soup and puréed 6 oz of langoustines. That gives us 3 oz each or 14 gms of protein! I'm saving the rest to purée with shrimp tomorrow. If I had a recipe, I might not have so much soup left over but it's very good.
Rich, creamy, flavorful and maybe I won't have to do another Protein shake tonight. I've had worse in pricey restaurants.

mummytolewis got a reaction from gamergirl in Post-op Soup Question
Hi i, m 5 days post op and the 1 st soup I pureed was butternut squash and corriannder, its so simple to make and I have enough to last the whole wk, so I just portioned and froze it. I just used a chicken stock cube salt pepper and a clove of garlic and boiled up the butternut squash, then when it was ready to blend I chopped s bunch of corriannder and blitzed it up to a smooth consistancy, it was so goooood after my milk and yoghurt pre op diet. Tommorow I am making a chicken soup with onions and peppers with basil and thyme. :-)
