Seela got a reaction from ljbobcat in Pondering what is possible!
I had a client who is a bariatric sergeon and he would just randomly start telling me how I would never be able to lose weight and keep it off on my own. This was unsolicited, so I thought he was a jerk. Turns out, while he has poor social skills, he was a gift from God. It took me 4 years, but I finally gave in and had my vsg with him in October last year and at almost 9 months out I'm down 95 lbs. You just never know what forms special gifts will come in.

Seela got a reaction from BeagleLover in stomach cramps every night
Sweetie, you're only a few days out and your stomach is doing some serious healing. I promise this will go away. A couple months from now it will be a distant memory. Hang in there.

Seela reacted to Jersrose43 in This is a new one for me..
I haven't lost the feeling of being hungry and am 2 weeks out. What i do notice however is that if I get hungry then I tend to eat to fast and overeat.
I would recommend you try to eat every 2-3 hours and just make it small. I know you don't want to but you have to consider your health first. The rest will work itself out. You may just want to sip on Protein shakes on and off too.
Good luck. I am sorry that you are undergoing this. I hope you come out on the other side an even better and stronger you. And I know you will!

Seela got a reaction from elfnow in Labor day Challenge
Im in, again! CW 159.2, goal weight 152.
I made goal the last two challenges but didn't on the two previous ones, so we'll see what happens. I'm coming up on 9 months out and it's getting more unpredictable as I get closer to my original goal. At this point I kinda feel like I'm on maintenance but I keep losing. Hopefully my weight will just level off at some point on it's own. I still have to be pretty diligent about what I eat, make good choices. If I slip I go up a lb or 1.5 lbs but I get right back on track quickly and that seems to jump start a little extra loss. I'm still 19 lbs from my original goal but I look and feel fantastic where I am so if I lose more, great, if I don't, that's great too. In 8 1/2 months I've lost 91 lbs! Thanks for taking up these challenges, they really help me keep my head in the game

Seela got a reaction from VSGAnn2014 in Are your family & friends telling you to stop losing weight?
It's really weird but I got a lot of "don't lose any more weight" when I was around a size 14, now that I'm about a size 9 I never here that anymore. All I ever hear is that I look great. Well, actually I get a lot of "skinny" and "tiny" which, really gets on my nerves because I'm neither. When people have the nerve to ask what I weigh I just laugh, I mean, seriously? I don't really care what everyone else thinks at this point because I know I'm healthier and happier and I know I look great, and not just "compared to how I looked before". I may be relocating to Florida in the next year and I'm excited to start over in a place where the size of my ass isn't judged by every client that walks through the door.

Seela got a reaction from moose18201 in Coming Out of the Weight Loss Surgery Closet: What, Whether, Why, and How
This is a great post, thank you. Unfortunately I can't keep a secret so I've told everyone. It's astounding to me just how completely ignorant most people are and their pre conceptions amaze me. What's funny is most of the time they think they're right. .. I get comments od disbelief over the amount of food I eat at work, when other people are eating or if someone brings in goodies somebody always apologises. .. I tell them it's ok, that it really doesn't bother me, the truth is, when I look at that stuff all I can think is ,' that looks like it will end up painful'. I honestly just wish people were more informed and didn't just have the gossip from ... my girlfriends cousin's neighbors aunt that had wls said... oh well maybe someday

Seela got a reaction from Texas Jess in Sick Of Compliments And Comments
Honestly this is a problem that I can't wait to have!!! However, insread of reporting your co-workers why not just speak up and say, I appreciate the compliments but talking about it makes me uncomfortable. If you say that a few times they will stop. You had the surgery, I'm assuming by your post it's not a secret, so either enjoy the ride or simply tell them.

Seela got a reaction from Heather_Feather in Have you smoked or vaped e-cigarettes and not had complications post surgery?
I Vape non stop... even vaped in the hospital. .. have not had one problem. I told my surgeon, I don't smoke I don't drink I don't do drugs i dont consume caffine and now I don't even overeat so it's the last bad habit I have and I'm not stopping. He said he could live with that. I have not had any problems what so ever. If you can stop though, I would.

Seela got a reaction from star21nd in sleeve failed
I have no idea what your journey has been but most of the time our sleeve doesn't fail us, we fail it. That being said, you STILL have your sleeve so it's not to late to get back to basics. Start working it and remember it's a tool not a cure. Im only 11 weeks out so I don't know much about it but a lot of successful vets on here do 5:2. Maybe you could search it and get some help from some experienced vets. They probably won't be easy on you but it just might be the kick in the pants that you need. I know for me a good kick and some tough love always make me mad enough to help me help myself. Good luck

Seela got a reaction from soonerorlater in Hair loss, evidence with picture and me bitching...
I'm lucky that I have a lot of hair because I've probably lost half of it. I know, in my head, that it will grow back but when I'm in the shower and it's literally coming out by the handful there's nothing I can do but cry. It's horrible. It's so much worse than I thought it would be. I'm so happy on so many levels but this Hair loss business just makes it really hard to fully enjoy all of my success. I really can't wait until I'm on the other side and I'm bitching about all the new growth that's getting in my way!

Seela got a reaction from Bea Amaya in Memorial Day Challenge
I just realized I passed my goal of 169.8! I REALLY hope it sticks (I've been bouncing around a lot). I'm super excited but I won't really count it as officially reaching goal unless it sticks around for next week. Fingers crossed
