I don't understand these attempts (by women) to shame women out of talking about sex, as if it's not a vital part of any relationship. Discussing this does not make one a "horndog," merely a human. I'd like to thank those women who spoke frankly about why they might have been attracted to a particular body type in a man; for being proud of their sexuality. I believe the points they brought up were perfectly relevant to the OP's query.

Laura-ven has never been brought up in the chat room while I been on till last night. She was also in the chat room. She also answered a question from someone in the chat room.
Along the lines of people talking about other in the chat room is pretty much un true. Do we talk about some posts on the forum? Yes we do. my opinion and others opinions will not always see eye to eye.
Like Joe said above if you don't like my opinion or opinions of others skip them and move on. The people that want to argue about the opinion of someone else are the ones causing the issue. I posted my opinion and that was it. I didn't come back and post till I started feeling attacked because of my opinion. When I respond to the people attacking my opinion I did not attack the person but tried to explain my reasoning of my opinion.
We are all adults with our own opinions and outlook on different things. Just because you don't agree with what people say doesn't mean they are attacking you. I am blunt and very honest and open person. I don't tiptoe around peoples feelings. If they post a question I will answer it how I see it. Some people might find my answer rude or take it as I am attacking someone but I am not. That is your opinion about my post. Thats like me saying you are attacking me because you bought a red car and I hate red cars.
Yes do agree that a few posts were worse than others but thats my opinion. You don't see me going crazy about it.
Again my opinion. you don't need to agree with it and thats fine. But that isn't going to stop people for voicing their opinion.

I made no presumptions in my post - I stated clearly my thoughts. You are the one who made presumptions. I mention nothing of tough love. You are not the respect police or the forum FBI. Forum hypocrite, maybe. You see, you seek constructive comments as long as they are written in the way you want them written. However, we all do not share your brain, so if someone has a different constructive comment than your own, then you will just have to deal with it. Nobody is going to change how they post just because you say so. I know I certainly will not.

My mom, dad, and an aunt are the only people I've told.
My two siblings probably won't know until after I've had surgery. My mom is HIGHLY upset at that thought, but it's not about her, or them. It's about me.

My insurance requires 6 months of supervised diet. Thursday will be my 4 month check in. So far, the only thing she's asked me to do is:
1st month: start tracking everything I eat.
2nd month: pay attention to how much Fluid i'm getting
3rd month: cut out fried foods
4th month: start tracking how many grams of Protein I get in a day, shoot for 60-80.
I've been working on chewing LOTS, eating slowly, smaller bites, and not drinking while I eat (so hard for me).
This month I've lost almost 6 lbs. Hopefully having my sleeve done in December.

My last dietician appointment will be mid-November. Should be able to submit shortly thereafter and hopefully get approval in 2 weeks from then. Looking like December, for me too!

My absolute favorite is very simple....my very best friend and person I admire the most in the world said to me your doing really good.....simple but means a lot. Also, when I saw my surgeon last time, he is always very encouraging but he hugged me and said I'm proud of you. Nothing has really bothered me, I feel like anything said to me has been said with good intentions so I receive it that way.

It looks like you had your surgery over a month ago. You need to be eating so you get your Protein in. It's super important for long term health and even short term energy. I wouldn't want someone watching my every eating move either, so I get that, but try to get your protein in, however you do it.

Mollz reacted to KCSG in Day 4 - Post Op Thoughts
Just sharing my various thoughts through this journey:
    1. Psych: Yesterday was a challenging day. Was an emotional roller coaster including lots of self-doubt and realization of physical limitations. I had two negative moments during the day where it was hard to keep my emotions in check. Ultimately, ended the evening with a positive mindset but this part of my new life is much more difficult than I anticipated.
    2. Hydration: really, really, really hard. I didn't get to the 60oz the doctor instructed me to ingest. Because the sleeve is still extremely swollen, you have to take micro sips and its hard. It hurts a lot and physically hard to maintain. I woke up with a headache today which I assume is because I am starting to be dehydrated. Going to do my best to increase today. Just really hard.
    3. Protein: for me, nearly impossible to get even close to 40-60g. It took me several hours to put down a Protein drink. I barely got in 7oz which clearly doesn't get me close to the Protein recommendation. Will try and get 40 today. That also would knock out 16oz of liquid. I worry about this...don't want to be malnourished and start losing my hair.
    4. Pain: obviously my abdominal incisions and trauma continue to hurt...swelling finally starting subside externally but clearly still very pronounced internally with the sleeve. I'm still taking the pain meds a few times a day.
    5. Recovery: I have been shocked how much more its going to take. I'm 43 and wasn't in terrible shape at 270lbs...and this has been really hard. I really believed I'd be up and close to normal in a few days. Not so. Everyone is different but the recovery is slow and you can't rush it.
Today is about goals for me: 60oz of liquid and at least 40g of protein. If I fail, I fail. One step and one day at a time.
Thanks to everyone here for your support. It's a great community.

    Times 3,
Go ahead, get it out. Frustration will do that. It's not what I expected, it hurts, why me, I don't want to do this anymore........ Life doesn't always work out like we plan. When you've been around as long as I have you go thru all those experiences and emotions many many times. And you will have many many more to come. However, it's not as hopeless as it seems right now. Come to terms with where you are and what lies ahead and let go of the past. You can't and won't get it back. Once you realize that, you can put more effort into striving for a more positive and hopeful outlook. It can and most likely will get better. But it starts and ends with you right now. I know you can't see months down the road or even want to think it will take months. The leak and the healing and the meds doing their job, won't happen immediately. Give it time. Get on board and help yourself heal and you will make it those months and reach your goal. Think about why you started this. You gonna be there looking back on this and realize you beat those obstacles.
What lies ahead is finding out how strong you can be. So don't give up now. You have alot of life to live yet, and you're gonna need that strength to live it. Good Luck.

I can completely relate. I work for an Ob/Gyn - private practice. There are two other employees, both very small grandmothers. Weekly I'm asked:
    "When are you due?"
"I didn't know you were pregnant!?"
    "How far along are you?"
    and told:
"You're so lucky to work for Dr. _____ while you're pregnant. He was just wonderful when I had my babies with him!"
I've even had people reach out and touch my belly, waiting for it to kick. Yeah, the only thing that's kicking you is me!!

Mollz reacted to Carol1560 in I call "drinking 64 oz water" BS
If you google the statistics on being dehydrated, the percent of people who are already dehydrated is amazingly high. So that being said...........
64 Ounces of Water is nothing, now remember within that 64 ounces of Water, includes the fluids from Protein drinks, popsicles, etc.
But the water is also helping the healing process of your stomach. It will wash away any type of particulate that is adhering to your stomach. Some of these particiulates are good and some of them are not.
Also, the water consumption flushes out your organs and rids them of their accumulations prior to surgery.
    I follow the dr's orders..........I am not a doctor
