  1. I don't know about the rest of you; but I don't like this new site. Can't find any of the threads I was part of. Many posts I have tried to reply to, I get "you are not authorized...". Does any one like this new site???

    On a better note...

Had my 4-month (almost) post-op appointment today:

    Surgery date 7/16

    Surgery weight - 222

    Current weight - 176

    Weight gone - 46 lbs.

Goal Weight 125 - 41 lbs to go. Over 1/2 way there. Yay!!!

  2. John - My best advice is to follow your doctor's instructions, take one day at a time, and ask any questions you have in this forum. You will find lots of encouragement and help just when you need it the most. Hard to give exact advice as everyone has a little different experience; so just ask lots of questions and post your experiences as you encounter different things on this awesome journey we are all sharing. I would also suggest using My Fitness Pal to track your eating. Helps track Protein, calories, carbs, etc. Best of luck to you.

  3. So Today I hit 149.2 lbs. According to my BMI I am NORMAL!

I had surgery March 20' date=' 2013 and weighed in at 240 lbs. I have chosen to only tell 2 people. My husband and sister. So when I posted a picture this week it created quite a buzz. I have lost 91 lbs in 7 months and feel better then ever. I could not ask for a better change in my life I can run and play with my son and not get tired. I have been so blessed to have had an easy recovery and a sleeve of steel.

I have attached a picture from February 2013 and from this week.[/quote']

Congrats Sparkles. You look amazing. Thanks for sharing your success story. Very encouraging.

  4. Hi there. I'm scheduled for December to have my band removed and a revision to the sleeve. Most days I'm 100% sure this is the right choice. But some days I'm not so sure. I guess I'm mostly scared of the recovery. I've had so many issues with the band as well' date=' and I'm afraid of having complications with the sleeve. Please tell me others are going through this as well. Are there any post ops that had these feelings?[/quote']

I was also revised from the band to the sleeve. I am so happy with my decision. I'm sure you will be too!!

  5. I just got a fitbit' date=' and I have to say, I love, love, LOVE it! It is motivating like you would not believe. I want to meet my daily steps goal, so I check it frequently and find all kinds of excuses to get up and move now. I park in the farthest spots away in parking lots, walk to the opposite end of the building to use the restroom instead of using the one right next to my cubicle, etc. And, mine is very accurate thus far.

I love the website, and the fact that it is free. I have decided to do all my food tracking there as well. Right now, it is not the greatest in terms of its database, but Fitbit is aware of that and working on improving it. I am actually in a group who will be testing their new food entry program starting tomorrow, and will let you know how I like it.

If you are on there, add me, my profile is in my signature.[/quote']

I love my fitbit; but I track my food in My Fitness Pal, which syncs with my fitbit. Much better database of foods.
