Ever miss eating?
DagsboroDebbie replied to CajunLadyB's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You will be fine. After surgery, and once you are back on regular food, you will be happily eating; but if like me, you will have to remind yourself to eat because you won't be hungry all the time any more. -

5 days post op GAS AND DIARRHEA
DagsboroDebbie replied to dcmusicmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had same surgery - band removal, hernia repair, sleeve on July 16. Day 3 post-op was by far the worst for me. Terrible gas pain. Walk, walk, & walk some more to get rid of it. Diarrhea big issue first couple weeks - partially due to taking in only liquids; but I think I have become mildly lactose intolerant since surgery so still deal with it a little when I drink Protein shakes or milk. Weight loss is a little slower than I expected; but I'll take slow & steady. Stalled when I started back at the gym; but fortunately didn't last long. Best of luck to you. -

July 2013 Sleevers

Be encouraged. You can do this. If you didn't work out before, it is a big change. Start slow; but start. Find something you like to do & if possible a partner always helps. I was sleeved on 7/16; so a little further out than you. Many of us take regular stool softeners, some use benefiber or other Fiber supplements. Everyone is different so same thing doesn't work for all. You have to discover what works for you. Where are you at with food?? That could be part of the issue. -

I sure understand your confusion. I'm so glad my doc & his team are so understanding & not locked into the same answers for everyone though as we are all different. Lettuce on soft stage sounds crazy & I wouldn't even think to try that. My doc moved me through the stages a little faster than some; but slower than others on this forum. I think you have to listen to your body. Don't add too many things at a time & be cautious so you can "read" the signals your body sends & know if added things are agreeing with your sleeve or not; then go from there - one meal at a time. Lots of good info here; but not all info is good for everyone. Best of luck. -
I think you may have convinced me...

Do your research so you know what to expect. Make a list of any questions that come to mind from research & reading posts here & make sure your bariatric team answers them; then relax and follow your pre-op & post-op instructions. -

I was on morphine pump in hospital & came home with liquid percoset. I was blessed & really didn't have much pain. -

I need some "SLEEVE SISTERS"
DagsboroDebbie replied to lory2922's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Magazine
For me, the lap band recovery was probably a little easier; but I think that is because the sleeve surgery included removal of the band & repair if a hernia. -

Lory. I'd like to be your sleeve sister. This is a great place for support, to have questions answered, and to share what we are learning. I'm a month post-op and extremely happy with my decision to have my band removed & have the conversion to the sleeve.
