    Hating my band

hi - i had the lap band for six years - lost 100 lbs which was great but it was mostly due to not being able to eat or keep anything down. In 2010, i developed acid reflux real bad and had to get all the fluid taken out - he would put a little back in, but i would immediately start back with the acid reflux - it got to the point, i couldn't sleep laying down anymore, so he gave up - i got depressed, went back to my self-medicating with food and quickly ballooned back up to my previous weight. In June, I went to talk to another doctor about revision - he pulled records from my previous doctor documenting attempts to work with the band - had me attend weight management classes for three months, performed an endoscopy and said my esophagus was scarred and my insurance company approved the revision. I think most of the insurance companies are understanding that the lap band does not work seeing how many revisions there's been and seem to approve. Good luck - i wish i had the sleeve done first - the lap band is terrible - i've already lost 40 lbs since my august sleeve revision.

    Best and worst "compliments"

Best - I was standing in the hallway down from my boss's office - he looked down the hall and said "Hey Skinny" - i'm not because it's only 2 months - but felt good - lol Worst - during the 2 months, my husband kept saying "your legs are getting so skinny" - after the 4th time, I told him - "wow, don't know how these skinny legs can hold up this big body!" - did he not notice the 38 lb loss on my body also -

    Vitamin question

Yeah this has been a real downer - I've tried taking just one and I still get nauseated - I'm going to have to try some other vitamins and hope they're full of the right stuff

    August sleevers progress

Had surgery august 5th - 16 lbs pre-op 38 lbs since surgery Total 54 lbs
  6. I am taking the Celebrate Multi-Complete (with iron) capsules - bottle says 3 a day - do you take all 3 at the same time or spaced out - and does it matter what time you take them? They make my stomach hurt and i get nauseous when i take them at the same time so wondered if i can space them out during the day. Can't find the answer on the website or bottle. Thanks!!
  7. I am taking the Celebrate Multi-Complete (with iron) capsules - bottle says 3 a day - silly question - do you take all 3 at the same time or spaced out - and does it matter what time you take them? Can't find the answer on the website or bottle. Thanks!!
  8. I was sleeved August 5 and down 49 lbs - 16 pre-op and 33 post op. I started at 316 and am now down to 267. I realize all the posters who said appreciate your weight loss are right, so why can't I get that through my stubborn head. I stalled out at 280 and now again at 267 - everyone tells me "more protein", but I don't see where I can add it - after breakfast, lunch, 1 snack and dinner, I'm stuffed - i'm still getting my proteins in first and a little vegetables, but the scale still won't move - and yes, the clothes are fitting better - the inches are coming off, but why can't i quit fixating on the scale. I even moved it upstairs which worked for a little while, but now i find myself running up there to weigh myself. Misery must love company - hence, my post - any early august late july sleevers having the same trouble?
  9. Hey fellow Newbies - we really have to trust our more veteran board members more - when they say, "day by day we'll feel better" and even though it seems at the time that they don't know what they'r talking about - it turns out its really true - lol. I'm one week out and Mon, Tues and Wed, I couldn't even hold my head up - I had my lapband removed, hernia repair and sleeve done and it is AMAZING how good i feel today! Really - each day has been better than the day before. i even took a short drive today which i didnt think i could. Thank you long time sleevers for being there to answer our questions and keeping us sane!
  10. Hi Boutique - surgery same day as yours - I agree - today has definitely been the breakthrough day - I think anyone who has had the surgery doesn't consider that TMI - they know your happiness lol. This was a rough few days but I'm really seeing some positives today!
