    Young and sleeved?

I had my sleeve done when I was 22. Best decision of my life! You will do great!
  2. Be proud of yourself for wanting to correct the problem! You are clearly a very strong woman and I know you will get back on track. You are not a failure. You are a success. Go back to basics with lots of protein and you'll do great. I gained 10 pounds back and it killed me to step on the scale and feel that again so I know how you feel. I have faith that you'll continue to lose!
  3. So I bought my very first bikini yesterday! My skin on my stomach is a little saggy so I'm nervous to wear it but I'll work up the courage one day! This is a total NSV!
  4. You look wonderful! Congrats on your hard work!
  5. Hi Mimi, I started exercising after a couple months. Started out light since my body was still in sort of a recovery state. Now I work out regularly. Probably 4 times a week average.
  6. I had my VSG in May 2013 and I have lost 114 pounds! Best decision I have ever made and I love my sleeve! Good luck with your journey!

Thank you! "Normal" is definitely a great feeling!
  9. Today the doctor weighed me and I officially have a normal BMI! Such a huge victory for me! I'm now down a total of 114 pounds!

Thank you! You'll be there before you know it!
  11. Anybody else look in the mirror and still see a very overweight person? I've lost 110 pounds, am at a healthy weight, my friends, family, and the doctor says I've done great, but I look in the mirror and see someone overweight. All I can think is that I need to keep losing but I can't seem to lose any more now. Has anybody else felt this way about their body image?

    Still seeing a fat girl?

Thank you so much for your sweet reply! I wish you lots of luck as well! I see in your username you're in Texas. What area do you live in? I live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area!

    Still seeing a fat girl?

My general practitioner said he is concerned with my desire to keep losing weight. He said if I lose another 10 lbs and still feel like I need to lose more, than he wants to see me again to evaluate to body image issue. I just feel like I need to lose so much more. I am going to talk to a therapist soon though. And thank you very much for the compliment!

    Still seeing a fat girl?

Some days I think "wow! I look awesome!" Then the next day or even an hour later I see every ounce of fat and imperfection. I'm proud of what I've accomplished thus far but I can't stop seeing how much more I need to loose. I just keep thinking 20, 30 more pounds.

    Insurance coverage for plastics?

Thank you for that information! I haven't had any issues with infection but I do meet the other requirements. I think I will set up a consultation : )
  19. I am really wanting a tummy tuck now that I am at a good weight for myself. I don't think I need to lose much more but the excess skin on my stomach keeps me from being completely happy with my results. I'm wondering if anybody has had any luck with getting their insurance to cover plastic surgery?

    Vets: how long till 'normal?"

I'm not 15 months out and I would say by about 8 months or so I started to get into the groove of my "new normal" and now I can't imagine my life any other way. I love this strange new wonderful normal!

    5 day pouch test

I did make it through all 5 days and I did lose a couple pounds. I'm at 165 and a size 6 right now. When I started the test I was about 167 and I dropped to 163. But I'm sticking now at about 165 so I'm trying to cut carbs out to lose a little more. I do feel like some of my restriction returned and it helped me to remember exactly how to use this tool. I recommend it but make sure you get enough calories in so you're not too light headed.

    5 day pouch test

I am on day 3 of the pouch test. The first two days of liquid diet were a lot harder than I remember the liquid diet being initially. I was a little light headed and weak by the end of day two. But this morning starts soft protein so I had a hard boiled egg for breakfast and I definitely feel more restriction in my sleeve today. And the best part, I'm already down 3 pounds!

    5 day pouch test

My weight loss has pretty much come to a halt for the past few months. I'm a little over a year out. But I would still like to lose 15-20 more pounds. So I'm hoping this will jump start a little more weight loss and also help me regain some restriction in my sleeve.
