This was a recipe given to me by the surgeon's office. I thought it was pretty good and they worked as "snacks", also.
    BARBECUE GLAZED MEATLOAF MUFFINS
    2 cups Corn flakes
    1/4 cup Barbecue sauce, divided
1/3 cup cholesterol free egg product
3/4 lb extra lean ground turkey
    1 medium yellow onion, chopped
    1 medium green pepper, chopped
    1/2 cup shredded carrots
Mix Cereal, 1/8 cup of the barbecue sauce and egg product in large bowl until well blended. Add remaining ingredients, mix lightly.
Mound the meat mixture in 8 muffin cups sprayed with no stick cooking spray. Brush tops with remaining barbecue sauce.
Bake at 375 for 30 minutes or until cooked through.
Protein per serving: 21 grams (2 muffins)

Hi. I just received my surgery date of July 30th. YES...
I had a horrible time trying to get my surgery scheduled. For one reason or another. It was a problem getting the surgeon approved for a certain facility. It took 6 months after I submitted all of my information and 3 months after my insurance company approved my surgery before I got my date. All is behind me, I have my date set in ink. I still have to do my pre-op meeting/class. I'm just waiting for them to call.
I started off GREAT I lost about 40 pounds in 4 months before surgery by just following my nutritionist guidance.
( My nutritionist was ecstatic ) However, after they kept putting me off about my surgery date I got discouraged and kinda lost my way started eating everything I wanted.
My excuse was my last shot to eat whatever I wanted....... And I did...I ended up putting 20 of the 40 pounds back on.
I'm sure it was more discouragement / depression.
Well, now they called and finally said they had things set up. I had a surgery date. So the party train is over. I started eating right again and lost 5 pounds. I have almost 3 weeks prior to surgery and I intend on loosing at least a total of 15 pounds.
( I hope - I know it's fast, but I did it before and I felt great and remained healthy)
My goal post surgery is to be about 110-125 less than I am today. I'm giving myself a year to reach goal. I will break that into groups of 3 month goals.
Falling off the wagon like I did is a fear in the back of my mind after surgery.
I will use this as a lesson and learn from it.
I guess I'm glad I did this pre surgery rather than post. It almost feels like I got a second chance

Hello. I stalled one week after surgery. The scale not only did not go down, but went up 2 pounds. I was eating and drinking everything I was suppose to. Two other people that I knew had surgery the same time as myself, their weight was coming off nicely. I went to my nutritionist after 3-1/2 weeks who told me I had stalled. I was doing everything right and it as going to be just fine.
Needless to say, that didn't do a thing for me......AT ALL.
I kept doing the right thing, I wanted to say the heck with this - it didn't work for me. ( Not even surgery ). That's what I though....NOT what I did.
*** Even though my scale didn't budge, I was still loosing inches..?? Go figure. I couldn't exercise. I was either too sick or too week. However, I did go down from a size 26 pants to a 20. Yeah, that was the positive side.
Another two weeks passed and my weight still had not changed, but after that..... (( My scale did move in the right direction )) YES !! I was on a 5 week stall. I didn't stall after the three week mark I kept hearing about. I stalled after one week for a grand total of 5 weeks. I was told that I my stall again in the future. When it happens again, I know that I'll face it much better than my first go-a-round.
Sorry for the long post...I just wanted to say, it was scary and depressing, but it really did work out okay. I know it may not seem like it at the moment in your eyes, but it's going to work out GREAT for you as well.
    Good Luck !!

Come on already ...... Really? 25 days and my weight is the same. I was sleeved on July 30th. I'm ready to throw my scale out the window. This totally sucks. The ONLY saving grace is that my pants size seems to be going down 26 to an 18. (but not the pounds) I've read about this when you loose inches not pounds. Still I don't quite get it, but that's what I am doing. Still 25 days.
I HATE MY scale ..... AND MY SCALE HATES ME.
( Hummmm) - this too shall pass.
I know, be thankful for the inches and stop complaining.
Thanks for listening, I had to give my husbands ears a break.

Oh and I played hopscotch with my friends six year old daughter but really, I was the only adult there not worried about looking silly. In the past I would of told the girl no so I wouldn't have to stand up and be noticed!

    My most recent:
    - Fitting into one of those wire mesh patio chairs at a restaurant w/out looking like my rear end was trying to fight its way out of a giant strainer
    - Wearing a size large workout pants!
    - Watching the amount of weight I can lift or press steadily go up over the past few weeks at the gym
    - buying the next size down in pants cuz I know I'll be able to wear them soon!
    - Seeing my collarbones again!
    - Feeling confident that I'll physically be able to do a crossfit workout when I work up the nerve to finally try it
    - Being able to wear high heels without my feet hurting because there's 240 lbs compressing my toes into sausage
    - FINALLY FEELING IN CONTROL OF MY LIFE!!

I am 5 weeks post-op and have stuck pretty much exactly to my program's guidelines for diet progression. Today, I made brownies to take somewhere, and I licked the spoon when finished. I did it without thinking, but figured it wouldn't be too bigof a deal for any reason due to the small quantity. Brownies have always given my heartburn in the past, but I certainly didn't expect it out of such a small amount.
I was WRONG!For the next 2 hours, I suffered the worst heartburn I have ever felt. I'm sure I will never do that again. And, how cool would it be if I could not tolerate chocolate??

All righty then, time for us to compile our favorite posts about Stalls and Plateaus so we can help all who come here wondering why they are stalled, and for those of us who think we know it all, to maybe learn something new too.
Would you contribute yours? Once we have a few, I'll compile it into one big list and who knows, maybe they'll pin it here?
Only problem is, as soon as they pin it, conversation on this forum will probably drop to half of what it currently is (Yes that was cheeky, yes I should be ashamed of myself, no I am not.). Did I need to re-read these myself this morning? Yes, I did.

Hi, I can identify with your anxiety about not losing more weight. I am about 1 week ahead of you (July 25) and I have had a similar issue. I got cleared for purée last week and my weight loss has temporarily stalled. It really started to stall when I made changes to my diet, but calories don't lie and I know I will start losing again. There are a lot of factors here to consider that might help you feel better. First, I gained 10 pounds of Water weight in my 3 day hospital stay. So you might consider whether you had some gain due to the IV's that inflated your weight. Second, my surgeon would tell you that one to two pounds lost per week is what he wants to see. Basically very few people keep hydrated properly and some of the big short term weight loss is mostly water and not fat. If you stay the course on calorie intake, water intake and Protein intake your body will eventually heal and get over the trauma and will start burning fat. That difference in your daily calories consumed and that big number of calories your body naturally burns will start generating fat loss for you, but only if you stay true to the plan recommended by your dr. Last suggestion: Make sure you get enough calories. If they are too low, your body tries to preserve itself by hanging on to fat. Whatever the goal is recommended by your dr, try to minimally reach that goal each day. If you have been getting too few calories, sometimes a bump up in calories will jump start weight loss again. We all get really disappointed when we are not losing, but this whole thing is really about math and time. Don't worry about the pounds lost, just work the plan and it will work out.

I second what everyone else has told you. I used a clock and took super tiny sips all the time, with the goal of drinking 1 oz. every 15 minutes while I was awake. I drank from a shot glass and used a 1 cup liquid measuring cup like a pitcher. I drank everything room temp at first, but everyone is different. Another thing I liked very early out is Sleepy Time Tea.
