Hi Karen, I'm researching him too, very interested to find out about the single incision recovery. Who did you book him through ?

I can definitely see this has put you in a dilemma hasn't it ? - the problem of course is, we don't know if these allegations are true or the fiction of some disgruntled ex-employees. But what we do know is, this is about you and your health and your safety. I can only tell you what I would do and that would be to first, see if I could get my deposit back, and quite frankly, even if I couldn't, I would go somewhere else. You can gamble with a lot of things, but not your health. This doctor may well be absolutely wonderful and that's nice but please if you have any doubts (and I am guessing you have many) err on the side of caution here and walk away. Really hope it all works out for you and i'll definitely be thinking about you.

I haven't scheduled a date yet but I can tell you I will be going alone by choice. When I feel like crap I just want to be on my own and not have to worry about someone else or feel that I have to chat when I don't feel like it. I'm not at all anti social but I do know that I just need to concentrate on myself for those few days.

Hi Everyone Firstly, I have to say this community has been incredibly helpful for me. I am SO impatient to have my VSG. Anyway I did some research and I am thinking of going with BeLiteweight and Dr rodriguez in Juarez. Has anyone else used them and this doctor? if so, would love to hear from you about your experiences. I have another question. I may be under time constraints and I asked BeLiteweight about recovery time and I was told I could be all done in a long weekend and back to work (with no heavy lifting etc for two weeks) does this seem correct ? - Thanks so much !!

I think you're probably right. I will likely do the same thing. Hope you don't mind me asking but who did you end up going with ? and how is it working out ?

Thank you sleeve guru and congrats on your goal achievement. I can only imagine how fantastic that must have felt. It's quite startling to me how much doctors DON'T know about obesity and weight loss. I was talking to my GP at a recent visit and of course my weight came up again - I love how they look at my chart and say "you should probably try and lose a little weight" - to me that's no different than saying to a heroin addict "probably a good idea if you didn't shoot up anymore" By the way, I see you reached your goal in 6 months, very impressive. How much did you have to lose ? - I am 220 so probably thinking about 80 pounds for me.

Thanks Girls SO MUCH for your responses !! - CHERI - you made me howl with laughter you should be a writer. I am planning on doing the same as you - monthly payments and I totally agree - it will be the best money i ever spend. Did you finance it ? and who with ? I was approved with BeLiteWeight but they come out to $7100 for Dr Rod in Juarez and everywhere else is running almost 3K cheaper than that so I'm not ready to commit just yet. But there is another thing that kind of "bothered" me about BeLiteWeight - when I first contacted them and they got back to me - one of the first things they said was that they "didn't use BLACK MARKET staples" which of course was inferring that other places do. Now this had quite the opposite affect on me than they probably wanted. I really don't like scare tactics and this seemed like they were saying - "sure we're more expensive but we're much safer than everyone else" and I just don't believe that, especially after reading all the great reviews, it clearly isn't true. Not to say I won't still go with them but I am certainly open to ideas on someone else so please holler and let me know your stories (also financing stories please !!) really need to pin something down here soon. Thank you everyone - it's so helpful to be able to talk to people who have been through it already. I am desperate to have this done - still trying to talk my husband into it. He's actually not against the surgery, just the cost right now !! (our ins won't cover it) I have tried to explain to him that it's going to cost an awful lot more in medical bills with everything that is going to go wrong with me if I carry this weight any longer. I get up in the morning aching all over, can never remember feeling so totally bloody ill !!
