My pain lasted the whole first week after surgery. Literally on the eighth day I woke up and the pain had been cut in half I swear! I am three weeks out and am just now able to sleep comfortably. -

Sometimes- after I eat- I feel like there is a bubble in my throat and I need to burp. However, if I make myself burp I will throw up. It has to happen on its own. If you will MAKE yourself drink every few minutes now, it will become a habit and won't be so hard to later. That has been my experience..... -

Sometimes I feel like I need to burp but can't. I think if I do I will vomit. Hiccups also hurt- I am three weeks post op tomorrow! -

It is totally normal and will get better. Make sure your liquids are room temp and you take smaller sips than you think you need to.

I can not stomach the protein shakes or drinks. I found a bar that has the same amount of calories, proteins, etc as the drink. Anyone eating their protein instead of drinking it??

I haven't seen my surgeon since my surgery- still one more week to go before I do. I have already started soft foods though.....

You can have Popsicles once the cold doesn't bother you. The other stuff will have to wait for the soft/purée stage..... -
