Hello fellow VSG'ers. I feel like THE biggest and youngest (18) of the group. I'm 6'2 and my highest weight was 538. On surgery day I got down to 514 and now 2 weeks out I'm 484. It's a big feat but I still have 230 pounds to go to my goal. I've started exercising (walking 30-60 minutes a day). I've been feeling so great since the procedure. I walk easier, I don't get winded. I don't crave food as much as I used to. I can walk longer and farther than I used to and I'm sooo excited for this journey.

August 27th sleever here.. I am LOVING my decision to get my sleeve. There are times I wonder if they actually sleeved me at all.. but then there are times I know for sure. I have lost since the beginning of the pre op diet a total of 37lbs!! I have returned to work a week ago, which has turned out to be more of a struggle than I thought it would be. I am on nights, trying not to eat during the day when I'm up so I can save my meals for at night.. its just all confusing. I'm still struggling to get all my Protein and fluids in.. but I try and that's all I can do. I can't wait to hit the gym.. going today to see what all they offer. I hope all my other 8-27 sleevers are doing well.. hard to believe in a week we will be one month out!! one day at a time..

I echo all of the above, and would add:
    * going to any doctor's office and the nurse takes one look and says, "hang on, I'll have to get the large cuff for you."

Hey guys I was sleeved 17 days ago. But I had a question. I'm having lots of soreness/pain on my right hand side on my stomach I believe where they pulled the stomach out. Is anyone else feeling like this? Should I be worried?

My thing is just mainly just skipping out on life....
Friends: "Wanna go to Miami?" A: No (swimsuit).
"Wanna to go Cedar Point?" A: No. (Seats).
"Wanna go on a hike?" A: No. I can't keep up. You will think I am having a heart attack.
"Wanna be on our softball team?" A: No. I jiggle when I run. It's emabarrasing.
"(At a charity event) What size t-shirt should I order you?" A: None. The biggest you have -2x- won't fit.
"Wanna go white Water rafting/canoeing?" A: No. I might sink the vessel.
... I think the final straw was when I went to Korea and China. Those countries are built for little people. The train seats were SO painful. My husband and I are not little. When in rural China, we had people stopping and asking us to take our pictures because they had never seen people so big. On the great wall, I go so winded, folks had to stop and wait for me. Frustrating.
Seriously stoked about LIVING life. No more reasons why I can't do anything. (Both my husband and I are doing this together -- a month or so apart) We will have the tools to lose this weight once and for all. We can start a family. We can teach our children about health and nutrition. ...And we are even toying with the idea of doing a sprint triathalon one day - because we CAN.
    GAME ON!!!

My surgery is set for July 13th!! I'm so excited and I've felt so positive but recently I'm feeling worried... When I first started this journey I was researching the different weight loss surgeries and finally decided the sleeve was going to be the best one for me considering I had at least 180lbs to loose!! I was able to get in contact with several people that had this surgery and wow their outcomes were all awesome!!! Within 5-6 months they had all lost 125 + lbs. each so of course when one particular lady was so close to my stats (age, weight, height, etc) told me about her journey and she lost 165 lbs in 6 months I was ecstatic!! However since I've joined this app/group I'm noticing its not very common for that type of weight loss, or at least not on here... most I'm seeing don't even loose 100 lbs by the 5 month mark and so it's got me worried, especially when I see posts saying in 5 months only 50lbs has been lost.. I'm hoping the posts I'm reading are people that may not have as much to loose but I'm starting to worry.. I know me.. and I'm needing a dramatic loss in these first few months so I can get to the point I can actually "do" things! I know this is not a miracle working surgery but I'm not having this to just pass the time away, it's a surgery that is supposed to be dramatic and help you loose more weight at a faster pace...
PLEASE don't take me as being negative in anyway against anyone... I'm here for answers and support just like everyone else, I don't have a family member interested enough to even talk to me about this so I'm pretty much on my own here...

Hi!! I'm Sara and I started my journey with 200 to lose as well. My surgery was Jan. 5 and I'm down 130. Pre op I looked at this number as super daunting and unattainable but it took a little faith to book my surgery thinking, well I have to do something. Not one second post op did it even occur to me I won't eventually hit my goal. I know that with this tool and the determination that was needed to get through the first month that I can reach it! It's hard to believe pre op, for me it wasn't until after my surgery that I knew I made the right decision. I still weigh more than some people's start weights but now it's not just a number, it's a lifestyle. I'm sending positive vibes your way and know that many others have walked in a similar path. Congratulations on making a decision for YOU!

I lost someone I thought was my bestfriend. He and I were very close, for 3 years. We hung out and talked all the time. He was even the first person I told about having surgery and he was so supportive. Now, If I see him on the street, it's a "what's up" or "Hey, D" and that's it. That's the straw. I miss him all the time but yet, I want him to suffer. Is it selfish of me? I guess. I have surgery next week (8/27) and I'm so ready for this change.

I have no friends left. I have literally alienated myself from everything and everyone. I feel like I am trapped in my life and trapped in my body. I thought I was ok with it until I realized that my anxiety, depression, lack of motivation, tiredness, and lost sex drive ALL have to do with my self esteem and weight. I have turned into a lazy, unmotivated, grumpy person. I used to have tons of friends, be outgoing and very social.. now I am a hermit. I dont love myself, I dont even like myself. Luckily, I have a long term boyfriend that loves me for who I am and is supportive and happy for me.
I want to have a baby. I am 34 years old and I want to be happy and healthy for a child. I want to get married. We have talked about it. I will not be a fat bride. I just wont.
I am tired of having my life feel like its over at 34. I want it to just begin. I want to start over. This time I will make the most of it.
this is the most empowering choice I have ever made. for the first time in years, theres a spark of life in my eyes and hope in my heart.
