  1. Hello everyone! Just wanted to throw in my updated info. Took me forever to get back on this site. I'm not a fan of the new layout etc. Anyways, I'm glad I made it back!

    Surgery was 8/14/13

    HW 261

    CW 173

    TL 88

No more Migraines, back aches, restless legs or depression.

I have already done (2) 5Ks since Dec. mostly jogging/fast walking. I'm preparing for a 10k in April at The Cooper River Bridge Run in Charleston, SC.

Life is good!!!!! LOVE MY SLEEVE :)

  2. I am having this same problem but not my belly button one. It is the incision on my right side (over my Liver area). I am 6 wks post-op & just now starting to close. I cleanse the area each morning in my shower. Pat dry, blow dry the area on cool setting, do my morning routine etc & then put small gauze/tape over it. No Neosporin. ( Neosporin keeps the hole moist & delays healing). Once home & settled I take off the gauze to air the wound. Just prior to bed I put new gauze/tape on to catch any drainage during the night. This is common to happen to some folks. Slow to heal. Healing from inside outward. Your pic looks great (I'm a nurse) & will eventually close. Just keep it clean & dry as much as possible.

  3. I know what you mean. My partner stayed with me throughout whole process in the hospital. As a lesbian couple we were very popular with the nurses. And the first day I had a sponge bath we looked at each other and we could almost hear the song playing in the background just like Lady Jay said.... Let's get it on!!!! Lol

My partner & I had the same experiences with the nurses. They practically stayed in our room just to chat, check on us, or even just admire the love between the 2 of us. As for my first bath...yep the thought past in our heads, but ya know...gotta respect the MD orders ;-)

  4. It was good to read this. I'm just 2 wks post-op & have been thinking the long term outcome. My partner of 6 yrs has been my rock. She is my biggest supporter & biggest fan thru this whole journey. Keep focus & hopefully your partner will begin to understand your changing body.

  5. Once I switched to grinding my own nut butter' date=' there was no turning back. :) also when you grind your own, there is no added sugar, no added salt, no added anything. It is pure 100% nut in buttered form.[/quote']

When you grind your own at home...do you just put in dry nuts & whip away? I have seen the store grinders but was curious as how you do it at home.
