As someone who recently spent 4 months in a residential treatment center for eating disorders, and seeing women of all sizes struggle immensely with self-esteem, I can certainly vouch for the skinny does not = happy line. I quit binge eating, I quit drinking, I quit teaching for the public school system, I started taking classes to become a nurse practitioner, I adopted the best dog in the world. I'm happy for the first time in my adult life. This is difficult for some people to believe (e.g., my mother) because I'm still obese. The weight loss will just be an added bonus.

Curvy - I have more toys than you could shake a veiny, engorged stick at. I used to sell them at Passion Parties to groups of tittering housewives and now they're all in a box....somewhere, where they've sat for the last 5 years. You see, aside from the fact that they've undoubtedly melted into one motley pink and purple blob of silicone and latex, at some point during my product testing (I couldn't in good conscience hawk unfamiliar wares) I came to the conclusion that there really is no substitute for the genuine article. Plus, using edible body paints by yourself is downright depressing.

Lmao loved your post and god bless!!!! I have been fortunate to always be healthy in that dept even as fatty fat! Maybe because i have a lover and am not single. But my performance has shot up a hundred percent as my confidence. No Im not super toned working on that goal, but every time Im with him I know in my head Im smaller than I was last time and it does something to your head. Its almost empowering! Im getting older and thought things were supposed to slow down, but I feel my drive is worse then when I was in my 20s which is awesome for me. I agree with the others if your in a small town invest in some good toys, or go to clubs in a town where noone knows who you are and get your freak on! Have fun on your quest be careful and enjoy!!!

Thank you Southern Soul. These are the kind of posts I look for on VST. Ordinary people imparting amazing words of wisdom to live by that encourage and build us up. Canary Diamond you are also another person who has a gift of expression and your compassion shines through as well. I have learned that when I am in a bad mood, I will put a smile on my face anyway (fake it til you make it), before long I start getting that happy feeling. We are doing what we can about the outside in regards to getting our sleeve. It is also important to do the internal work as well. This is great advice and provides a great place to start.

Thank you for doing this! There are some that have to do with diet that I've come across...when people refer to eating a certain (acronym) way. Still haven't figured out what those mean.

Wow - all good stuff! Really like your morning smoothie recipe - stealing it. I hadn't heard about the restriction being more obvious with solid foods. I'm still on liquids and sharing many of your previous fears. As for your trick with the denim capris, perhaps if you lie about something and they catch fire?

OK so here's what I went with (FA = Future of America, M = Me):
FA: Ms. Diamond, how was your surgery?
M: I'm feeling fine, thank you!
FA: What did you have surgery on?
M: Oh, I had some things removed. It's kinda gross and you don't want to know about it.
FA: OK. (pause) What did you have removed? Your eyeballs? Can you see us? Are those fake eyeballs? Yeah, I think one's falling out!
M: No.
FA: But really, what did you have removed?
M: My testicles
That shut 'em up.

Open my own store, too funny. The original purpose was to pull them out, wash, dry, and hang them downstairs by size (we have a huge area for that)......however I didn't realize how much was up there......
About the hubby.....I didn't want him to come home and walk in on that mess in the hallway......I put it in the spare bedroom....I fessed up, showed him the piles of clothing...he just laughs at me.....I'll go through it...I did see sizes 20-14 (which I think would serve me well for a few months after surgery)....but who knows how dated they are LOL

Omg! I really needed to read this...I'm having melt down after melt down. I meeting with my dr. Aug 1st for Pre- surgery appt. (surgery date Aug. 19) and have gained 10 lbs. since last month. So afraid he's gonna kick me out. I' m yelling at my daughter, she's 23 so she knows her mother is a blithering idiot when under duress. I'm griping at the dogs and cats and my husband just shakes his head. All of a sudden this life change stuff has really hit home and all my excitement has turned into a big mess - ME!
On a more serious note... Since my psych EVAL, I decided to keep weekly appts. With my psychologist for support up to the big day. Also, I have severe fibromyalgia and she's working with me with my pain with biofeedback,etc.
We discussed mood stabilizers like LAMECTIL - so is anyone on depression meds now? Does the new tummy accept them? Please, anyone?

oh my god, you poor thing. how are you ever going to live through all this $&$**^% horribleness-ness? you really made me laugh because i was having a couple of those days a few days ago. at one point i told my cats to get off their lazy, freeloading asses and do the dishes and fold the laundry and just make my life easier, lol.
so suggestions: since your mom likes to wash things, she can put your dog in the washer and hang him on the line to dry-no more stinky dog. you can take all the wrong kind yogurt and put it on the professor's desk and tell him he will either switch your lab time or you'll knock out all his teeth and that damn yogurt will be the only he will be eating for the next 6 months. and then you can take a whole bunch of Bean-o, jump up and down and then blow the bastard into next tuesday with the most mammoth, awesome, horrendous fart ever registered on the Richter scale!

Sorry I can't help at all with your woes! You have both made me giggle like a mad woman, and all the other customer in Costa have moved away from me lol. Sure things will work out Canary Diamond! you deserve some good Karma after making me laugh, as for me the men in white coats have just arrived, so Karma is paying me back ha ha :-).
