    Fitbit or jawbone?

I love my Fitbit Flex, and highly recommend it. I have looked at the Garmin, and when I'm ready for a new tracker, that's what I'm going to try.

    Upping calories by 400?

I'm curious - does your surgeon/medical center's plan includes metabolic testing? At 4 months I had that done and it was an eye opener regarding my resting metabolic rate and what my target daily calorie intake should be. Very illuminating!

    Three Weeks Without Weight Loss

2000 calories sounds high, and also 200 grams of Protein seems like an awful lot - plus it's adding calories. @@Fiddleman and @@joatsaint might be able to add some wisdom here!
  4. 2 years. I went to an info session and decided afterwards that I'd give myself a year to "do it on my own." Ha! That didn't work. So, I started the required process in March 2013, had surgery September 2013. Best decision ever, and I'm really sorry I wasted that year.

    Activity trackers

I have the Fitbit flex and I love it. I think it is pretty accurate and once you get used to the annoying rubber wrist band, it is awesome. I have seen that Garmin has a new product out (Vivofit, $129) that might be the next step in these trackers, but I'm sticking with the Fitbit for now. It's a great little tool for about $97 bucks.

    Anesthesiologist PAT test?

For my sleeve surgery, there was nothing but a consult with the anesthesiologist about 40 minutes prior to surgery. More recently, for a simple out-patient procedure, the anesthesiologist checked the size of my mouth/throat a few days before the procedure, but then rescheduled me & sent me to the hospital because it turns out that I'm hard to intubate - she said it wouldn't be appropriate for me to have surgery at a small surgery center that didn't have a full anesthesia department. This was the first time I'd ever heard about being difficult to intubate (4 prior surgeries!) but I'm glad I found out before there were troubles during a simple knee procedure, you know? Anyway, I hope this is helpful!

How often do you weigh yourself?

I weigh daily when I get up. Also, I'm still using WW for accountability (part of my work's health management program requirement), so on Fridays my weigh in gets entered into my WW Online account. I've been doing this for over 4 years now and it seems to work for me. Plus, I love having 4+ years of records of my weight - makes it fun these days to look back and see my struggles and then see all the positives after surgery.

What will I REALLY need post op?

One thing that I used that hasn't been mentioned yet is one of those plug-in mug warmers. It was slow going to drink broth the first 2 weeks, so I would use the mug warmer so that I didn't have to keep going to the kitchen to use the microwave, and the broth tastes much better warm/hot. After the liquids stage I didn't use it anymore, so I passed it to a friend who's having surgery soon. Good luck!
  19. Wow! Amazing work and great payoff. Congrats!

My 32 Week / Monthly Weight Loss Chart

Hi Shells. ... Tried to pm you but keep getting an error message. What was your longest stall? I'm 2 months post op and have only lost 30 lbs? I feel like I'm not going to lose anymore? Sorry I just saw this message and PM'd you. I know the feeling, it's so frustrating. We have to hang in there!!!
  25. From what I've read on this site, the restriction does really loosen up after a while. I'm a few months out and can eat quite a bit compared to those early weeks where 2 or 3 bites and I thought I was going to hurl. It's both good and bad to be able to eat so much more now!
