  1. June 27, 2013... I'm down 70.. the last 30 are giving me hell.. but I look great, feel great and am a workout junkie. My trainer actually said I threw myself into a plateau because I'm "over-exercising" and "under-eating". Anyone else out there been in a 4 month stall with their weight? WAS a size 24, now a 14/16.

  3. June 27, 2013 Sleever! Down 70! But, I've not exercised consistently since late November and I've stayed the same weight, give or take 3 lbs. This cold weather, snow and ice have really messed me up. I'm not getting in as much Protein as I should, and I've averaging about 1100 - 1300 calories a day. I drink a lot of coffee and eat a lot of popcorn and almonds. #smh I know better, but for the most part, I eat what I want. Still have good restriction and I listen to it and don't push it. Unfortunately, my boobs are smaller and my boyfriend doesn't want me to lose anymore. I want to lose 20 more and I know I will once I hit the gym again. I was working out 2 x a day back in the summer, then THANKSGIVING, CHRISTMAS, SUPERBOWL and GIRL SCOUT COOKIE season hit. So glad the holidays are over and North Carolina is warming up now. Any other June sleevers having these same challenges?

Don't be scared Sweetie. Of course, you're going to be anxious pre-surgery... but I have NO regrets. The scale is moving DOWNWARDS and that's the important thing. I've lost 48 pounds in 11 weeks. 284 pre-surgery; 236 today. I don't feel deprived. If I want to have a little something sweet, I take a bite and throw the rest away with no guilt. I'm making better food choices and HUNGER isn't controlling me anymore. You won't even miss pigging out on pizza, cookies and ice cream or how horrible it made you feel after. I had pizza the other day and you know what I did? I scraped off the cheese, pepperoni and sausage of ONE slice, ate the toppings only, and threw the dough part in the garbage and was just fine. That was my FIRST time having pizza in three months... and I'm good if I don't have another "piece" of pizza again for another 3 months. Your mindset will change with your body. Your daily mantra will become, "Protein FIRST, drink water and exercise." Period. Do I miss Diet Coke sometimes? YES. Do I want to pass out from the pain it may cause me? HELL NO. Do I want to swing through McDonald's for a Quarter Pounder sometimes? Yes. Do I remember how those hamburgers helped me get to my highest weight of 320? Yes. Is it worth it? No. Trust me. You won't regret this. I love my sleeve.

    Question for June sleevers

I was sleeved June 27th. Started liquid diet at 284. Date of surgery, weight was 265. Today at 11 weeks out, I'm 236. I feel like this is slow. I'm losing again now after a 5-week stall...but if you do the math, I've lost 2.6 pounds a week since my surgery and I'm happy with those numbers. Total pounds lost 48...29 pounds since surgery. I average between 800 - 1100 calories a day, 60-90 grams of protein. I still drink about 30 - 60 grams of protein though. I'll admit, I eat a lot of fruit and veggies too. My co-worker who was sleeved 9 months ago said I'm not supposed to be eating fruit yet. That's not true is it? My doc said I could eat fruit at 6 weeks out.
  8. Hot Mami! You look awesome and I know you feel amazing!

    Running Out of Options

Thanks for all of the suggestions! I made ground turkey and ground chicken Italian meatballs a few days ago, with wheat pasta and Newman's Own Marinara! Phoenix79... thanks for posting a pic of your breakfast. That omelet looks amazing. I don't use my Pintrest account, but you've given me a reason to. Thanks again!

    Running Out of Options

I do like Indian. I haven't tried it since I've been sleeved so I don't know how I'd tolerate it.I'll try it though! Thanks!
  12. I was sleeved on June 27. PS-284, Surgery Date/Post liquid Fast-265, Today-248 I'm in Phase 4 and one week from Phase 5, when I can eat just about anything I want. I've been absolutely perfect up until now and I know it's because I'm ONE week from nuts, raw veggies, garden burgers, and bread that I'm ANXIOUS to eat these things now. I'm also running out of options and getting pretty bored. I had a garlic knot yesterday and it was SOOOOOOOOO good. Tolerated it fine.. .and I had some lettuce today.. just a little. But here's what my day consists of usually. Breakfast is usually a 30 gram whey Isolate shake lunch is a Lean Cuisine or Healthy Choice (don't know if I'm supposed to be eating these or not but when I don't cook, I have to eat something) or baked chicken and fish and a steamed veggie Afternoon snack Applesauce or pudding and another shake dinner More fish or chicken steamed veggies I'm BORED!!! HELP!

    7 month post-op PICTURE :)

AMAZING! Great job! You look fantastic.
  14. Like you, I've only told a handful of people in my world and only three people at work who will keep my secret. It's nobody's business, and I don't want a ton of folks asking me endless questions. Luckily, I've been nursing some knee problems, so folks at work think I had knee surgery. I was sleeved on June 27 and returned to work on July 9th. I've lost 28 lbs--16 lbs during the pre-op liquid diet and 12 since surgery (roughly a pound a day). Some folks are noticing, but I've worked at my job for eight years and they've seen my weight go up and down with yo-yo dieting in all that time. Some probably just think, "oh, she's on the "down slope" again" lol However, the next three months are really when I'm anticipating the questions. I'll just say, working out more and eating less. Plus, protein shakes are my friend.. and leave it at that. I love this sleeve.. and can't wait to move to my "soft foods" stage on Monday.
  15. First and foremost the ugliest part by far is DAY ONE. When you wake up from surgery you can't eat or drink for 24-hours. There's nausea, pain and gas. They're also pushing morphine into you every two hours but there's still a great deal of discomfort. I stayed one additional day because I kept throwing up the Lortab. Once they switched me to Roxicet (liquid Percoset) I was in heaven. The key is to WALK, WALK, WALK. 10 days out, I have very minimal pain, I feel GREAT, nothing really disagrees with me,I have energy and I haven't had ANY nausea and I'm down 21 pounds. Started Liquid Fast: 282 Surgery Day: 265.8 Today: 261 One very WEIRD thing happened today though. This morning I thought I'd started my period. Turns out the tomato Soup I'd eaten the night before came out during the night! Has anyone else experienced overnight diarrhea??! Or is this LILO (liquid in, liquid out)
