angry got a reaction from Ladylee823 in Sleevers by profession.
Im a lawyer. I am not sleeved yet but am going for my pre surgery screening tomorrow, I am scheduled for surgery 8/16 and I cant wait!!! I have lost weight lots of time in the past but I have never been able to stick with it long enough to get anywhere near the finish line. I feel like this is giving me an opportunity to succeed like never before. I have also learned that in private practice my appearance is just as important as my knowledge which is sad, but true. I am so inspired by all of you and good luck to everybody that is on their way!

My leg are not ideal in appearance when I am naked. They, too, look like melting candle wax around the inner thighs. That said, they can now carry me at a good jog. My knees no longer hurt. My feet no longer ache after sitting for too long. I can wear lovely heels all day long and be comfortable. They allow me to chase my dog, keep up with my kids, carry me through a kickboxing class with enough energy after to do another or go shopping or anything else I want to do. (I can also wrap them all the way around my husband without... ooooops! Wrong room. )

My butt is droopy now. Droopy or not, it fits in size 12 pants easily and is now leaning towards a size ten. It no longer has to be squeezed into a seat at the theater and it can get me past people in tight aisles without rubbing up against anyone. I can put my handbag in the same seat WITH me anywhere I go and I have no fear of seat belts on planes or amusement park rides.

My boobs are a bit longer. Mr.Lipstick still wants to put his face all over them. They still look great in a sturdy Victoria's Secret Bra. They are still healthy and cancer free despite my family history.

My belly is loose and has more rolls than it did when it was fat. My 55 pound dog can now fit all the way in my lap, though. I can sit in a booth without my boobs resting on the table. I can now see past my belly and see the smaller number on the scale. I can wear shorter shirts (no, not crop tops!). I can bend over to paint my toe nails comfortably (but why do that when I can pay someone $8 to do it for me?).
My arms are hangy and loose like a really old lady. They can still propel me through an hour of laps easily. They can still lift weights and I can even wear a sleeveless top. As an added bonus, if I lift my arms and flap my wings, I might even learn to fly!! It is now a straight line from my shoulder to my elbow instead of an outward C shape of fat. Most importantly, I have added years and years to my life allowing me to wrap my floppy arms around my loved ones for that much longer. Years I never would have had with my fat body.
Do I look ideal nekkid? Nope. Am I getting healthier every freaking day? ABSOLUTELY!!

I dont have any idea of whether or not this happened, but I would like to offer some unsolicited advice. If you are getting your surgery anyway, dont bother looking for any additional information, it will only worry you. I read the complications boards on here and almost gave myself a panic attack leading up to the surgery, and for what? I was going to do what I was going to do. I understand making an informed decision and knowing all the facts but you said that you have already made your decision so at this point Im not sure more information will be a good thing.

You may be worrying for no reason. Before the surgery I stressed about what I would tell people (not including family) because I didnt want everyone to know. I got my sleeve on a Friday and went back to work on Monday. It has been seven weeks and I have lost 32 lbs. No one has any idea I did anything. I thought oh the weight is going to melt off of me and I will be so skinny people will have questions. In real life I still wear the same size clothes and no one that doesnt know I had the surgery knows that I have lost a pound. In the interim, I have started saying that I am on a diet, and not consuming alcohol (in public) so that in the event I do start to have the lbs melt off of me, it will make sense.

judgey wudgy was a bear....how do you know she's "lazy"? Maybe those yogurts were treats. You have no idea what her kids eat every day. You have chosen to make a life change, but that doesn't mean you should go around making judgments about others. Nor does it qualify you to. I honestly do my best to feed my son well. I really hate the thought that if I pick up a treat for him, some self-righteous woman next to me in a supermarket is automatically labeling me a lazy parent. Just a thought.

ok apparently i am a fat ass. i am 6 weeks out and i can eat a 6 inch sub from subway without the bread. i am full at the end but i am not uncomfortable or in pain, and i assumed that was a decent meal until reading this thread. i think that as time goes on you will feel really happy about the surgery, and since you are a guy im sure youll lose lots of weight really quickly and you wont have a crazy stall. i love Pasta and want to have some one day too and i hope that doesnt mean the surgery was a waste of time. theres a girl on here right now that is 1 yr and 8 mths out and said she eats whatever she wants, she weighs 165 and i want to be her when i grow up. btw gamergirl you look great.

Well I am a psycho typically so my results may be skewed but I think for a lot of us food is our comfort, and have abruptly had to abandon it. People dont like to think of themselves as addicts but have you ever been around someone that has just stop smoking cigarettes? Its uncomfortable to do something different, even when its something good for you. Having competing emotions makes sense you are proud of the changes you are making, but that doesnt make it any easier to make them. But I will tell you, if you think your crazy now, wait until post op girl. Then you have all these crazy hormones being released from your fat cells, I cried for like 2 days, over nothing, and I dont cry. Its a wild ride but they say its worth it in the end.
