Ok day 11 of the pre-op diet was a bust, I had a grilled boneless skinless chicken breast and I feel guilty and like a failure. I will make tomorrow a better day. ???? My surgery is this Monday the 14th. Good night.

I find what works for me to keep my mind off of not actually eating is to keep busy. All the things I've procrastinated from doing are being checked off one by one.

On day 9 of the pre-op diet. It's been tough, but I'm pushing through. Surgery date Is Monday October 13th.

Day 4 of the pre-op liquid diet completed. Now off to bed I go.

Ah ha I was wondering if there was a group for me. My surgery is on October 13, 2013. I'm on day 3 of the pre-op liquid diet.

I'm allowed 5 shakes + unlimited amounts of these 5 non-starch vegetables; cucumbers, lettuce, celery, bell pepper, and carrots. Somehow I got it in my head that I was only supposed to have 3 protein shakes (i was starving so I called my surgeon's dietitian. She informed me that I am supposed to drink 5 shakes a day. OOPS!

DAY 2 of pre-op diet starts...NOW! :-)

Started my pre-op liquid diet today as well. Anyone knowledgeable about the popsicles?

Hey Anniehip to my surprise I lost 40lbs over the last 21/2 months by walking my dog 30 mis in the morning and 40-45 mins in the evening. I ate half of all my meals. The walking is the key you have to make it fun for you. Over the last 10 years walking was a foreign concept to me, bit now I look forward to it. I was in a marching band in my teens up till I was 21. So I have my favorite medium to high temple music on and I focus on myPosture like I am marching in a parade. You can do it. :-)

It'd Monday the start of my 2wk pre-op full liquid diet!!!! I need everyone's support through this.

Congrats! My date is October 14th. I'm just about to finish the 4th & 3rd week of the combo diet moving to weeks 2 & 1 full liquid diet.

I Just self paid for my surgery on 10/14/13! My eyes are filled with tears and I am filled with excitement and fear all at once. THIS IS COMPLETELY REAL NOW!

My surgery date is October 14th I'm 1 week into my 1 month pre surgery diet. From June 1st I've lost 30lbs Weight June 1st 438 Weight as of final pre op meeting with my surgeon on 09/10/13 408 Goal weight for surgery date 10/14/13 388 Lets GO!

It's amazing to me when I get the "Oh but you can do it without surgery" statement especially from people who know I've been in more and more pain for a few years. I always respond with "So you're saying you would rather see me try to lose the weight and fail over and over again than to choose a safe and proven method hmm!" Always no response.

I've been on my pre op diet for 5 days and I also feel quite thirsty. The biggest issue for me is being grumpy; my poor friends and family.
