  1. I'm so frickin frustrated with the stall. It's been 6 days now and I not only stalled, but gained 1 1/2 pounds. I'm a week and a half into the pureed foods stage, and start soft foods this coming week. I had my 2 week post op last Tuesday the 29th and my NUT suggested I use the myfitness app to track my protein and liquid consumption, so I've been logging everything (including water) and found that my protein consumption was lacking, I'm supposed to have 64-80 grams of protein per day and 8 glasses of water a day. I'm walking 3.5 miles a day. Hopefully, this damn stall period is short lived.

  10. I'm 3 months post op and I have been working out 6 days a week including walking/jogging 3-4 miles a day. The spring semester starts tomorrow and I'm really nervous about losing focus of my eating habits and exercise routine. I know it may not seem like a big deal to folks who have already gone back to work within a few weeks after surgery, but I'm really afraid I'll lose focus and all that I have accomplished will be reversed. Argh! Being a mid forties college student is already tough enough adding my healthy life change to my goals are down right frightening. Any advice would be welcomed.
  11. Thanks guys I went to the campus today to pick up my course books and that's when my anxiety kicked. Today I've been getting great advice from many resources I didn't realize I had. One friend reminded me that I am not an island...it's really funny how old thoughts and habits can creep in so stealth like. I really appreciate everyone's advice.

Dropped 3 pants size in 2 months

I was sleeved same day. I was a 4XLT and wore a tight 50 inch pants. Down to a comfy 40 and either an XLT or XXLT, depending on who's making the shirt. I don't have any damn clothes in my closet anymore! Good thing January is clearance month at most clothing stores. Our former big man wardrobes not fitting and Needing smaller sizes is such a awesome problem to have. Right! Good job Bro.

Dropped 3 pants size in 2 months

I'm so happy for this thread. I was sleeved on October 14, 2013 pants size was 64 now My pants size is 48 going to 46. Shirt size was 6XL now it's Xl going to a L. I'm ecstatic about shopping at normal size clothing stores Yippie (side note my credit card companies or even happier!) :| lol
  14. I too was nervous about the anesthesia, but after discussing it with my surgeon, my PCP, and doing all of the pre-op testing along with getting myself in the best cardiovascular health possible I went in that operating room and slid onto that operating table with confidence. My point is do what you are suppose to do and leave the doubting and second guessing alone that mess will drive you crazy. Make the decision for yourself and trust your medical team! I wish nothing less than the best for you.

    Throwing up

I'm 11 weeks post op and Some days I throw up 3 to 4 times. I think I'm eating slowly, but evidently not slow enough On days like that plain greek yogurt is the only thing I can tolerate.
  23. Today my former fat alter ego to control at the movie concession and ordered a hot dog! After eating a bite, chewing, and savoring the saltiness of it I swallowed and thought "WHAT THE HELL AM I DOING?" I decided to escape from my 9 visiting in laws and there craziness by seeing a movie and unconsciously I ordered one of the worst things for myself. Just shows how this is and will always be a life long struggle.
