  1. Hi everyone!! well i had my surgery on Monday... WOW !!!

It was not as bad as I thought it would be ..the pain that is ... gas discomfort and nausea was really bad .. I stayed a little longer at the hospital, the anistesia and Morphine kicked my butt .. I stoppped taking the Morphine that first night, it just made me too nauseated. The gas x strips helped and are still helping.. everyday that passes gets better. I have my 1 week post op on tuesday. I do have to say that my head craves what my tummy cant have .. things that i have eaten and enjoyed.. popsicles -sugar free fudgcicles- sugar free

greek low or nonfat vanilla yogurt thinned out with non fat milk... beef stew - pureed and thinned out

oatmeal and cream of wheat thinned out with nonfat milk. Soups

Im fortunate my Dr. says if it pours its yours so i get a little more options that some of the other sleevers that are on clear liquids... any questions plz dont hesitate to ask ..just messsage me cause i dont always check the threads. Good luck to all the future sleevers ... i will see you on the other side

  3. Hi everyone' date=' My name is Chris, I'm new to this forum so be gentle....

I had my sleeve surgery on Monday June 10 in Lafayette, louisiana...... my starting weight was 280.2, 41% BMI with medical issues that include high blood pressure, Diabetes, sleep apnea, cholesterol issues.....I lost 13 lbs on the pre op diet, since the op I've lost a further 11 ibs.....my belly is a little sore mainly from one scar where they pulled my stomach out of...everything else is going good.....its all getting better tho everyday post op.........just wanted to say "Hi" to all of you.....

my journey is just beginning....and what an adventure its going to be......[/quote']

Welcome Chris ...I get sleeved on the 24th and currently on my prep op... and its some what difficult but with God anything is possible :)

  4. I'm pretty new to posting here' date=' but I have a June 24th date set. Started my pre-op diet today. So, all of you who have already been through the pre-op diet know how I am feeling this afternoon!![/quote']

I'm feeling u ..I started mine today ..it gets better after three days is what I read and my daughter just went through it... are u on liquids only or can u have veggies?

  5. Where have you found sugar free fudge sicles?? I have found 'no sugar added' but no sugar free... Would love some chocolate!!!

It is funny how every Dr has a different formula for success(LOL)-- mine is pretty rigid but I'm trying to follow it as best I can. So far just have some trouble getting all fluids in for day (min 60 oz).

    Walmart supercenter

I will have her give me the brand and info..

also some chocolate flavor sugar free /fat free frozen yogurt ..it doesn't pour but it goes down melted as a Fluid so nut says its OK...

  6. I am still in amazement by this all. Tomorrow makes a full week since I've been sleeved. My body is still not in sync ( my mind says eat and the sleeve says no) but I will take one day at a time.

My daughter says the same .head hunger vs. Real hunger tomorrow will be 1 week since her bypass..

I'm sure it will get better ..hang in there

  7. Thanks but I'm post-op & dr's order were Clear Liquids for 7 days after surgery then back to liquid diet for 7 more.

Sorry, I didn't realize you are post op ..my daughter is liking the sugar free fugcicle ..but she isn't clear liquid .and she had surgery on the 3 rd .its so weird how diets can be so different from Dr. To Dr. Well once u can have liquids non fat sugar free frozen yogurt with Protein Powder ..

And my nut says if it pours its yours ...my daughter had a gastric bypass and I'm having my sleeve on the 24th but our diets are the same before and after.

  8. Jello sugar free' date=' icee freeze the crystal light till slushy I use a can with lid like the monster energy kind so u can shake it really well after a couple hours in the freezer... my daughter had surgery last Monday and she got super creative ..added a bit of Tomato sauce in the chicken broth added oregano salt pepper and some lime ..and it was really tasty ...and see through so its considered clear liquid[/quote']

Usually its liquid diet until u hit the last 24 hours before surgery then its clear liquid but u might want to check with your nut

  9. Sonic ice ROCKS!!!

Getting a little burnt out on water' date=' beef broth & SF Popsicles. Need more clear liquid ideas for the next 5 days... Might try some Crystal Light or some Powerade Zero. Any other ideas????[/quote']

  10. Hello! I'm schedule for the 12th. I'm also nervous about the "being put under" part.. When I had my endoscopy recently' date=' I felt very dizzy and weak-- something I never felt before. And, now all better, I kind of have a fear for the anesthesia. Best of luck to everyone who's gone before and going after me! :) xx[/quote']

Sarita your not alone with " being put under" in fact the majority of population feels the same way.. pray before going in and read over some relaxation technics like deep breathing ..and try to work on your perception of "being put under" sometimes changing our way of seeing something can change our anxiety and fear...hugs , you will be OK..

  11. I'm sorry y'all... Day 4 of my pre op diet. No food. Just Protein Shakes & Water & I'm really hungry. I know I'm doing this for a very good reason but I'm SERIOUSLY SERIOUSLY frigging hungry & obsessing about food!!! All the self talk in the world isn't stopping my tummy from rumbling. I'm drinking 4-5 Protein shakes a day. And a lake full of water...

Oh ..I'm so sorry but curious did Ur doctor not give u a list of approved veggies and tell u its OK to replace a shake with a few ounces of boiled chicken? Salads with fat free / sugar free dressing ? If u need the list I can e mail it.. let me know

  12. I've updated "The List"...please let me know (in that thread) if I missed you or you had a date change.

    http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/79098-june-2013-sleevers-the-list/

    Tomorrow OUR month begins!!! Whoohoo!!!

Awesome list !! Keep up the good work .. you know how to tell if someone is truly OCD ..?? When they tell you they are CDO since they have to put the letters in order..

    ;)

  13. My name is Isabel Morin and I am 47 years old. I currently am scheduled for surgery for the rou en y on July 8th ' date=' 2013. My surgeon is Dr. Zane. I currently weigh 285 lbs. The reason I am having this procedure is to get healthy. I suffer from diabetes, psoriasis, edema, fibroid tumors, and dependent on taking shots every day twice a day of insulin and several medications to manage my diabetes. and psoriasis. I read about two men who had WLS and as a result their psoriasis went away. I hope this happens to me. I'll be happy if my diabetes goes away. I can wear nice clothes to cover up all the scars from the psoriasis. I pray each day for a cure but nothing has worked yet. Thank you for listening God Bless You All. Isabel Morin :) [/quote']

Nice to meet you Isabel .. welcome :)
