  1. This is a big challenge for sure as your body is not going to get much nutrition in the first few weeks following surgery. You're going to have a hard time getting in enough fluids to sustain your body, without adding on breast feeding to it with fluids going out. Yes, you'll burn more calories if you are producing milk, but will it really be healthy for you in the long run? If she's already getting formula, it seems easy enough to ween her before the surgery. Now don't get me wrong, I'm a full supporter of breast feeding! I did it with both my boys and had a surgery when my youngest was 5 months. I ended up going cold turkey on weening after that surgery and I was miserable! And wished I had kept it up somehow. But, my surgery then was minor compared to getting the sleeve which is major! The more pressure you put on your body in the beginning, the longer it will take to heal. My suggestion is to weigh your desires. Which is more important to you, having the WLS surgery, or finishing out the breast feeding? Best of Luck! Sent from my iPhone using VST

I mix it with cottage cheese instead of mayo. Very tasty, creamy and cheesy. And you get Protein from it too! Sent from my iPhone using VST

    Frustrated

I was sleeved two days after you on May 17th. I'm down 31lbs. I'm on the same path as you and pretty darn happy with the results! I've averaged 4 lbs a week! And that's pretty darn awesome in my book! I agree with changing things up! I notice that my scale doesn't move as often when I don't get over 80oz of fluids a day. That's a hard target for me, but am working on it! Also mixing up workouts is good too. If you keep to your plan, its going to work and you'll get there! Sent from my iPhone using VST

    53 hours :)

Bowel prep, bowel prep!! Aside from getting in all your fluids after surgery, a big common complaint is not being told about prepping your bowels. Remember that anesthesia will slow things down. If your cleared out, that'll make things much easier for you. Best of luck!! Sent from my iPhone using VST

    Anyone in Oregon ?

I live in Springfield and had the sleeve 3 weeks ago by Dr Folek, who is awesome, btw.
  12. I'm 3 weeks out and I can handle focusing everyday on getting in my Protein, fluids, Vitamins and exercise. But looking at the scale and not seeing it move is seriously stressing me out. So bye-bye scale. See you in a few weeks! Has anybody else done this?
  13. I have been drinking "Premiere Protein" shakes from costco. They have 30g Protein, 5g Carb, 1g Sugar and only 160 calories. I'll typically have 2-3 of these a day, depending on my activity level, so that puts me at 60-90g of protein before I add in my two meals.
