    Eggs!

I'm 16 weeks out and I still can't do eggs really. I keep trying every Saturday but after a bite or two I start to not feel well. But, I had a small issue with eggs before surgery. I could eat them maybe once or twice a week, and only the whites, but anymore than that I would get nauseous.
  2. Exactly what crisbear said. As long as you follow the guidelines set for you by your doctor and nutritionist, you will be fine. It's the people who post about eating something they clearly shouldn't be eating at 4 or 5 weeks out that are they ones who will have a problem someday. Those guidelines are there for a reason, and we didn't go through major surgery for a quick fix. It is a tool to help achieve a total lifestyle change.

    Anyone from Boston MA?

I'm very happy with my progress so far. In the beginning I thought I was going to be a slow loser, but I can't complain about losing just under 50lbs in 16 weeks! My diet is still pretty basic and boring though. Gotta learn how to cook one of these days! gettingAllieback - welcome! Your date will come before you know it!

Question about that time of the month

Sorry I can't help. I haven't really had my "visitor" since my surgery June 10th. I had 2 days of spotting this month and last month, but nothing like a normal cycle.

    Some People are Rude..

I think that is it. People are so used to you looking a certain way that even though you are totally within your weight range, to them you initially look really thin. I'm sure people who have never met you before think you look great because they don't have that "before" image in their head.

    Thrush/white tongue

I actually just went to an ENT doc today. I was never diagnosed with thrush. What they said my white tongue was is just bacteria. He said your body needs to adjust to the way things are now. I'll be 4 months out Monday and it is a lot better, but still there a bit. I have a tongue brush and found some Oral-B tongue foam cleaner I use every day.
  9. My surgery was June 10, 2013 and today I did my first 5K. Finished in just over 42 minutes! I can't run the whole way yet, but I'm not doing too bad!

    Anyone from Boston MA?

Oh, that's the first I heard about nails! I knew the hair thing was inevitable. I know what you mean about the crawling in bed thing after eating sometimes! All it takes is that last bite to get in all my Protein and I just need to lie down and relax for a while until that feeling goes away. I obviously don't mean for it to happen, but when it does, wow!

I started taking Biotin. It is supposed to support healthy skin, hair and nails. We'll see if it helps any!

    Anyone from Boston MA?

Diamond3 and nadoue, when did you guys finally feel like you could eat somewhat normally? I'm 13 weeks out and still can barely get in 3 oz of Protein at a time. Then I usually don't have any room for a bite of veggies or carbs. Also, hair loss. Did you both experience it and when did it slow down? Mine started about 2 weeks ago maybe. I see so much hair in the shower every morning and it pulls out as I brush my hair and put my mousse in. Thanks in advance!
  13. I just went through my closet, dresser, and cedar chest this weekend. Ended up filling 4 black trash bags full too (some still with tags)! Already threw in my summer clothes from this year that were getting a bit loose. Hopefully we don't get a hot streak!!

    Clothing sizes?

The question is, wear the clothes you were wearing before surgery fitting just right, or a bit tight? If you were wearing them on the tight side, you are probably down 2 sizes. I know some of my stuff was like that. Now I'm wearing more baggy stuff to work because I'm sort of in between sizes right now and don't want to have to buy new work pants until I have too!

    My first NSV!

I think a lot of us have some similarities. I didn't purge, but I was a huge fried food, fast food, sweets girl myself. After surgery (I'm 13 weeks out) food just doesn't have the same appeal. It's hard to explain how, but my hunger feels different too. I have all I can do to get my 2-3 oz of Protein in each meal, never mind the extra veggies or carbs I should be trying to add. Best of luck to you!
  16. I would say to speak to you NUT or surgeon and ask them. Your stomach is still very swollen and needs to heal. You need to ask the experts and not look on here for permission.

    Great job! You're tiny!
  18. Great job! I love seeing the before and after pics. I also can't wait to see pics of you in your wedding dress. You will be a beautiful bride!
  19. My days are pretty boring. I'm I'll be 13 weeks out this coming Monday... 6:30AM Breakfast - nectar Fuzzy Navel Protein shake or Bariwise Cereal with skim milk 12-12:30PM lunch - Greek Yogurt or tuna salad w/ cheese stick 5 or 6PM dinner - 2-3 oz of chicken or turkey, veggie burgers, lite turkey hotdogs. Will try sometimes to wrap stuff in a whole wheat fajita wrap. 10AM Snack - string cheese, yogurt Average 500-800 calories I work in healthcare and need to be treating patients 85% of my day, so not a lot of time to take a break to have a snack 2x a day. I still struggle sometimes to get more than 2 oz of protein in at a time and rarely have room for veggies. Although this week I'm a bit more comfortable with my meals so I might be able to start getting a bite or 2 in.

    hair

Sorry to tell you that you will probably lose some, no matter what you do. I just read an article in a magazine that talked about crash diets and basically said eating less than 1200 cal a day can cause you do lose your hair because of nutrient deficiencies. Since we are physically unable to eat that much, it is inevitable that we are going to be losing hair. Mine starting about a week or 2 ago. I'm 3 months out as of yesterday.

6 months and only 40 lbsdown

I think people will be better able to help if we had some more info like what have you been eating/drinking, are you exercising at all, etc.
