Follow your new eating habits. Dial back or change up your exercise. You didnt gain it all in a day. Even though you had surgery, you wont lose it in a day! Stay away from scale! Otherwise you start a new obsession. I was where you are, everyone was eating and going back to old habits. It took me 18 months to hit my goal of 100 lbs. At first I saw no weight loss and really beat myself up. Once I got away from the scale, started taking baby steps in the exercise area, 50 lbs melted away. Dont live your experience via what others are doing. You are unique. I had my sleeve June 2013, most people I know that didn't do it slowly, gained most of their weight back. Yes, I started doing like them, started gaining it vack, but caught myself and am now back here redoing the steps...and losing!! Even have gone back to my "baby" utensils my kids for me to show support when I was sleeved.
Do you....you do you best! And besides, everyone else is taken!

You will find its definitely not easy, but it is very doable. You find that you just can't eat as much but you can have bites what everybody else is having just don't go for the sweets. I found that my tastebuds changed as I was losing weight and things that I left before just work appeal. We go to the restaurants and my husband will order a burger and instead of ordering my own because I know I can't finish it I'll have some of his. You just find it's a different way of life and then your food becomes less important because you get tired of the fullness feeling. Right now you're still feeling the old you, but you will see that the new you and the new stomach does allow you to live just in the lot more moderation. You still cook and eat with the family has you might just eat on a smaller plate! You still work really hard at your job! But you carry carrots or whatever your food choices are instead of eating the Cookies or whatever somebody else's brought. Is there Temptation absolutely! But you start liking the weight loss and you start liking the new you. Just don't get cocky! Just keep taking the steps that you need to do!

Yes. 3 1/2 years post, and the past 6 months have been stressful..buying a business, son getting married, life...ive gained 30 lbs. Back! I am refocusing on me now. Ive pulled out my surgery books, called my dr for support, gotten a list of vs support groups and hitting it hard! It is very easy to stray off course, but now I have to buckle down and look at the whts and, resolve or I will go back. So yes. It is a,fear, but while you think you solve a problem. Life happens and this is one more thing that I think will always have to come first. Dont get me wrong. Im terrified it will keep snowballing...so I came back to this forum too. Everyone here has the same story, different wording and we are here for each other! this forum got me to my 100 lb goal. And it will get me to my 30 lb one too!

I'll be 4 years out in June, 2017. I think because I lost slowly, I had a little skin sag, but not bad! I'm 56. Younger people I know that have had weight loss surgery didn't have hardly any. I've met one person in a support group that had additional surgery for skin. I say, just see how it goes, exercise along the way and see how you feel closer to goal.

NEVER EVER EVER go to the Grocery store when you are 3 days in to your pre-op liquid diet. My preparation left a lot to be desired. I decided that starting my liquid phase 4 days early was a Great idea lol. They almost had to mop up the drool on aisle 9. I wasn't even obsessing over any of the wrong foods but those Rotisserie Chickens were calling my name laying there looking all Sexy. I am Thankful to say that I survived and left the Store felling like Conan The Barbarian all Rough, Tough and Victorious.

Well, I can't help but I can sure sympathize! I am seriously girl-challenged in the makeup and fashion. People probably think I wear black to look thinner. The truth is I have no fashion sense so I wear black to avoid looking like a clown.
At age 16 my mom suggested I start wearing makeup. 31 years later I still am resistant and challenged at the art of it.
As far as colors I would suggest wearing what makes you feel good. I love the color red, but every time I contemplate a red shirt in the store I just can't imagine wearing and feeling confident.
I will be following this topic so I can get help too!

Lisa O reacted to The New Kel in Egg & Cheese Bites recipes- Delicious protein!
    Hi all!
I am 4 months post sleeve. My tummy still prefers softer Protein. I went to Starbucks and had their Egg Bites. They are delicious! This inspired me to create my own version at home. My version is made in muffin tins and baked since I don't have a Sous Vide cooking device. They turned out so good! And you can add fun stuff to make them even tastier. Recipe follows:

For 5-6 Egg Bites (I eat only one at a time but they store well in the fridge, so I have them for the whole work week), you will need:
    6 eggs
1/3 cup half & half (or whole milk)
1/4 cup cheese- I use Gouda, but any kind will do.
    Dash of salt & pepper
Add ins: I use green onions, roasted red bell pepper and crisp bacon pieces and cream cheese. (You could also use spinach, kale, green chilies, turkey sausage, the sky is the limit!)
    Muffin tin
    food processor or blender

    Process:
Preheat oven to 325. Spray Pam into 6 muffin tins.
Put the eggs, milk or cream, and cheese in a food processor or blender. Whirl and blend until egg mixture is light and fluffy, about 30 seconds.
Pour mixture into a bowl, and stir in green onion, bell pepper, bacon pieces or any other ad-ins you love.
Spoon mixture into muffin tins, leaving a half inch from the top of each cup.
Super yummy extra: At this point, I add a bit of cream cheese into each cup. I use about the size of a marble of cream cheese. I LOVE how these taste with this extra kick!
Put them in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until semi-firm. Let them cool before popping them out of the cups.

    Nutrion (per one egg bite) Protein= 11, Carbs= 2, Calories= 215*
The calories could be cut back (if desired) by using lower fat cheeses and milk and skipping the cream cheese).

    Hi All,
Coming up on my one year anniversary on June 24th. I am happy to see so many choosing a healthier lifestyle here in Colorado!! I am sooo happy I made this decision and know you will too. I am currently down 75 lbs and on a bit of a plateau lately, but that's ok. I know this has to be for the long haul. How are you all doing?
Would love to hear how you have done, or are doing and what got you past your plateaus, or what inspired you to have the surgery? I had vertical sleeve, June 24, 2013 with Dr. Michael Snyder at Rose Medical.
Hope to hear from you all soon.
    Lisa

Wow, you guys are all very brave to really look at what you want in life!! It has motivated me to sit down and think of all the changes I want to do and make. I want to be Active. Plain and simple. I have dreamed of going on a zip line or sky diving.... but over the weight limit..... my husband and kids are so active... I just want to join them. I tell my kids to live life freely... and yet I don't. They travel all over and while I do travel, I freak out before a flight because I wonder if this will be the flight that I have to ask for a seat belt extender.........I want to live life freely.

When did you have your surgery? My Dr told me not to get on a scale during weeks 3 to 6 because your body is trying to figure out what you are doing....another yoyo diet or are you for real. Said to use this time to notice the changes in how your clothes fit.....after all isn't it really about the clothes getting loser and not a number? The scale is really just a mind game....after all...I can't remember the last time someone asked me to get on a scale to see if I look better! Haha! Gotta stop the scale mind games and just look at your clothes! That's the real test! You're an 18. Yay! Not a 24 anymore! Get rid of those big clothes and keep moving forward! That is such an accomplishment!

Hi! If I'm having just an ounce if Greek yogurt I throw in just a tsp. Of unflavored Protein powder. Same with cottage cheese and other things like that. It doesn't add a ton of protein each time but during a whole day it helps me get my protein in. I don't like gritty....so for me I just started out with a half tsp....saw it wasn't bad...then added another half....I actually like the Isopure unflavored protein powder. Many do not...but I mix mine with skim milk. And add an once of toscana sf syrups to give it a different flavor each time.....I try to start my day with the shake and it normally takes me till lunch to drink the 12 oz. But that gets me my first 60 in for protein...then for lunch I have Greek yogurt...that has 13 grams of protein per 5 oz, plus I add the protein powder that (for 5 oz I usually put a tsp per oz). So that gets me a little more protein....then for dinner usually chicken....and safe my sf pudding for my dessert, but still add a tsp per oz of protein to that too. It becomes a game with me....how can I sneak my protein in with this? I am having a hard time with liquids...working so hard on the protein...always full....gotta wait to drink.....a vicious cycle! I was sleeved on June 24th and down 23 pounds. My Dr told me I most likely will not lose much between weeks 3 and 6 because thus is about the time body says hey wait....is this just another diet or is she really making good choices? We've treated our bodies to so many yoyo eating habits....doesn't know the stomach is not the same etc.... I thought that was a great way to put it! Sorry for the book!
