It sounds like that was a VERY difficult talk to have but you must feel good now that it's over?! It sounds like she won't be far away. I think your relationship and your kids relationship with her will be better once she has her own place. Congrats for sticking up for what you felt was right for you and your kids and having the hard talk.

Margie122 got a reaction from KeepCalm in Doc said weight loss plan was a waste of time. I need encouraged.
I've lost 106lbs. I have done walking, Zumba, and Yoga. I recently started Zumba and Yoga....it's not like I was 295lbs and hopping around doing Zumba..I couldn't have done it! Same with Yoga! For the first 8-9 months I mostly walked. I just walked whenever I could....at breaktime, at lunchtime, before work, after work.....you get the picture. At first I couldn't do much without being winded...then it got easier. I think your plan is solid! Once you start to feel comfortable with the Water workout...change it up!

@@Sharon1964 - regardless of your mom's health or issues which may or may not be worked out, you must take care of yourself first. That is why on airplanes they tell you put your oxygen mask on first before putting it on your kid or others who need assistance.

She will be about one mile away. One of the things that got her calmed down was my sister pointing out the fact that their relationship (mom and sister) got so much better after mom moved out.

I know how you feel. I lost a pretty decent amount of weight before my surgery and purposely started eating differently months in advance of my surgery. Mostly everyone at work has been awesome. There is one woman though, who is DYING to know EVERY LITTLE DETAIL and it's just the way she asks. It's so annoying. She was walking in front of me one day and turned around twice to look at me. She sits across from me. She turned around and said, "Hey you've lost weight" to which I replied "Yes I have." She then said "You've lost AT LEAST 20lbs". (I had lost over 80 at that point but I did not correct her). I said "Yes I have thanks". She repeated it again....AT LEAST 20lbs!
What is irritating is that I have openly told many people here about my weight loss. They didn't make me feel like an asshat and asked appropriate questions. They let me give them information. I know she knows I had surgery, but she won't ask.
The other day she came over to my cubicle and told me about her GIGANTIC nephew and his GIGANTIC wife who were both having that weight loss surgery. I just nodded and said how great that was for their health. She repeated how GIGANTIC they both were. She then came out and asked me how much weight I have lost. I told her "a lot".
I have to work with her only 1 day a week in the office - THANK GOODNESS. I don't think I could take much more. I sympathize with what you are going through.

Thanks guys. I have my Associates in Criminal Justice and that's what I'm going to get the Bachelor's in. They will call me back a week from Friday to go over some things. Right now I just need to get my transcripts mailed to them so I can see what they will accept for credits. They will take up to 90 credits. I am going to give my manager a heads up too, to ensure that there won't be any issues with reimbursement for the courses.

I'm an academic advisor and this is one of the topics that I speak to my students about. You need to understand time management skills. Planners are great for that, as are wall calendars for the daily visual reminder of due dates.

I agree. Be sure and schedule EVERYTHING: sleep, meals, exercise, work, classes, homework, exams, assignments, study time, project milestones, fun, social time, church/spiritual practice, family obligations, etc., etc., etc.

I submitted all my transcripts to the College. You need 120 credits for a Bachelors. I was given 78 credits for my prior degree and coursework. I can test out of a computer course for another 3 credits and if I submit add'l transcripts I can get 7 more credits for electives for the designations I received at work. That means I need 32 credits for the degree! That's only 11 courses.....I could be done in a year.....WOO HOO!!!!!!!

I was on the bus home the other day and when we passed the high school I saw that they had a sign for Bay Path University. I've been wanting to go back to school and get my Bachelors (I have my Associate Degree) so I looked it up. They have a campus at the high school for their "One Day A Week" college. I talked to one of the Admission's peeps today and I filled out the online application. I even completed the financial aid paperwork, but I know I won't qualify. Luckily my work will reimburse me up to $6,000 a year for classes (as long as I get a "C" or better). The school even has a "deferred payment" program knowing that most jobs won't pay until after you get your grades.
I'm going to start in September. I'm excited. I haven't been this excited since finding out my surgery was approved.
