  1. Headed to the hospital to see if my SIL will get a new liver. Fingers and toes crossed that she is doing better and gets her transplant.

Djmohr I'm sorry she's not a good candidate. I'm praying for her recovery.

  2. My stress-induced weight loss seems to be slowing. Two mornings in a row now with no loss, which is a big relief!

That's good! I hope the stress in your life is getting better. I went through a period of about a year where my work stress was killing me. I was able to find a new job, thank goodness, and was so much happier.

  4. Working, weighing, resting, repeating. Routines can be comforting. If nothing else, the post wls living can be a simple path to follow. I guess the challenge for me is getting out of my own way and doing just that.....keeping it simple. What's really cool is that if I do my best, my sleeve's got my back. Hoping everyone has a great weekend and stays on track with their losing.

Dub, I'm trying my hardest to follow a good post-surgery weight loss strategy with my sleeve. My sleeve is working fine it's my brain sometimes I need to fix. Hope you and everyone else had a great weekend.

  5. My run tonight went fine. Can't believe how out of shape after just two weeks of no running. But my foot still feels 100% normal. Not even a twinge of pain.

I wish I had that problem! Right now I am losing, but it's very very very slowly. I just have to be patient and keep on working on it.

That's good. It is amazing how long it can take to get into shape....but how fast it is to get out of shape. Sort of like weight loss....hard to come off...easy to go back on!

  7. This weekend couldn't be going any better. I got up at o'dark'o'clock yesterday and threw a suitcase in my car and haled arse back to my hometown....some 5 hours or so away. I slipped into a table at Mom's favorite breakfast restaurant and was waiting on her as Dad walked her through the door and guided her to the table. She had no idea I was coming and I haven't seen her since January. She walked in and went to her table and saw a strange teared man sitting there smiling at her. She turned around and told Dad that someone was at their spot.....he said, "Well who is it ? Look at him". She turned and looked back and saw it was me and started yelling out once she recognized me. It was awesome. My Sister was hiding and filming the whole thing. Absolutely hilarious. Mom has had a heap of health problems these last two months and I am so glad to be her visiting with her. I cooked breakfast this morning and am about to get ready and go to church with them. We've had a great morning over coffee and their dogs have adopted me as their long lost brother. Life is good, folks. Yesterday was a great day, today proves to be even better. Life is good.

Wow Dub your own mom didn't recognize you at first! What a great surprise for her on Mother's Day. Glad you had a good time with your family.

I was impressed with the surgeon's office and responsiveness. I will definitely keep you posted on how it goes. I'm going to search the plastic surgery forum again and formulate all the questions I will need to ask :)

  11. Is wondering when the nice weather is going to be here! I'm frickin freezing. Thank goodness I bought a little space heater for under my desk at work. Who knew I'd be using it in May?!?!

Couldn't we just all meet at the Great New York State Fair by the butter sculpture? I promise not to lick it - it's not on my "diet". Are wine slushies ok with the sleeve?

proudgrammy - I didn't know you were from Syracuse! Or did I? I worked for The Hartford in Da Cuse for three and a half years....lived in Baldwinsville and Liverpool. You are right, it aint gonna happen in Syracuse. Interestingly, a co-worker of mine told me that statistically Syracuse doesn't have many bright cloudless sunny days...it's because of the lake. Too much moisture!

JamieLogical - I'm always cold too...I was hoping that my body would regulate itself, but it doesn't seem to want to. My space heater is a lifesaver. I now keep a couple of sweaters at work too, because more often than not I put them on.

  14. Got my foot checked out today. It hurt way worse after I tried running last night. The are worried it's the start of a stress fracture so I have to wear a boot for 2 weeks and no running.

    1. Margie122

      Margie122

That stinks! Glad you went to see the doctor though and got it checked out.

I agree with GibbsGirl - your body needs time to heel. In a few weeks you hopefully won't even remember how cruddy you felt!

Let us know how you like it. I have a fitbit, but I am looking to upgrade. The Fitbit Blaze is a contender but I'm hesitating at the price for now.

  20. Well....hopped on bathroom scale this morning...322 on one...went and used the HD scale and it read 325. This officially drops me from a 58 BMI down to 39. 153 lbs lost and the ship is still sailing. Feels damn good... so grateful for this sleeve gift. So grateful for the friends found here at Bariatric Pal.

  21. Ouch! Today I had surgery to remove an implanted neurostimulator from my spine. It was an old one and had the leads secured to my spine so I now have 2 old scars opened and one brand new one. They had me so hopped up on drugs I cannot sleep at all, every time I fall asleep, I feel like I am suffocating. So here I am on BP.. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. With less pain medication.

      Margie122

I'm so sorry to hear about your pain. I hope today is better. If your pain isn't under control I would call your doctor and have them get you something else. I never understood why hospitals are so quick to let people out, but I guess it has something to do with those DARN insurance companies!
