    Let the rant begin...

I know how you feel. I lost a pretty decent amount of weight before my surgery and purposely started eating differently months in advance of my surgery. Mostly everyone at work has been awesome. There is one woman though, who is DYING to know EVERY LITTLE DETAIL and it's just the way she asks. It's so annoying. She was walking in front of me one day and turned around twice to look at me. She sits across from me. She turned around and said, "Hey you've lost weight" to which I replied "Yes I have." She then said "You've lost AT LEAST 20lbs". (I had lost over 80 at that point but I did not correct her). I said "Yes I have thanks". She repeated it again....AT LEAST 20lbs! What is irritating is that I have openly told many people here about my weight loss. They didn't make me feel like an asshat and asked appropriate questions. They let me give them information. I know she knows I had surgery, but she won't ask. The other day she came over to my cubicle and told me about her GIGANTIC nephew and his GIGANTIC wife who were both having that weight loss surgery. I just nodded and said how great that was for their health. She repeated how GIGANTIC they both were. She then came out and asked me how much weight I have lost. I told her "a lot". I have to work with her only 1 day a week in the office - THANK GOODNESS. I don't think I could take much more. I sympathize with what you are going through.

    4 years post op-vsg

I am encouraged that you have managed to keep the bulk of your weight off for so long. I'm also encouraged that when you recognized the gain you were able to start taking it off again. Congrats on getting back on the wagon!

    Memorial Day Challenge

188.4 this morning. Scale going slowly in right direction. A loss is a loss, I'll take it!

    duplicate posts abound!

I have noticed in the past week that every post with a picture has TWO of the same picture. Seems like a glitch to me as I'm sure everyone didn't mean to double post pictures.
  6. I ordered 1 meatball at an Italian restaurant. I had just been cleared for such foods and I could barely eat it all.

    Realistic Goals

Sharon I think you've done amazingly well and if you want to change your goal weight you should. I am thinking of changing mine too. Set it to whatever makes you feel good/comfortable

    My doc never mentioned this..

I never had "foamies" and I didn't get GERD or acid. This is a board where people ask for help with certain issues they have....There are TONS of peeps I'm sure who were just fine. No one can say for certain - but it's an odds game. Chances are you will be fine. I wouldn't cancel my surgery out of fear of vomiting. Chances are you WILL vomit again in your lifetime....and even if you do after surgery it won't be forever.
  10. Hi Cowgirljane - just wondering how you are feeling after putting some more distance between you and the events. Hope all is well!

    New motivation

No it's not petty....it's just how you are feeling at this moment. You might change your mind in a few months...hopefully - in the future- you just won't even care what he thinks!

    Frustrated - Mini Rant

It's frustrating I know....just when you think you are almost done and they are submitting and BAM you find out that didn't happen. The waiting sucks. Good for you for being on top of it! Keep on them.... Your surgery will be here before you know it!

    My rant for the day.

Yes or they wait until the bitter end to search for coupons....or try to pay the .99 in pennies!

    Finally on the other side.

Wow the results look great already! Thank you for sharing.
  15. MinaDina - I know what it's like to move away for a job and be totally miserable! Luckily for me one of my best friends also moved with me. We both worked for the same company and moved together. I don't know what I would have done without her. I was 5+ hours by car from my other friends and family and it was not fun. If I didn't have her I wouldn't have lasted 3.5 years out there. Luckily you do have the phone/computer to make contact with family, friends, and us here on the boards. When is your surgery? The days you will be in the hospital you aren't going to be much up for visitors anyway......I don't know your families situation but could someone come down and visit you for the first week or so after surgery to keep you company? Did you ask? Best to you....

    Dreaming... about clothes

As soon as the clothes started to not fit I purged my closet. I looked at them and put anything that was still in good condition in a pile to be donated. Anything that was ripped or torn/stained (and probably should've been tossed long ago) I tossed. I had TONS of clothes to donate. I went through my closet, my bureau's, and anywhere else I had clothes. I did wear stuff until I absolutely had to buy new clothes. Luckily (?) for me I had clothes in my closet that I could wear going down sizes. I did supplement with some new(newish) things. I have been really choosy about what I'm letting into my wardrobe. Because I am not at goal and would like to lose another 24+ lbs, I am not going crazy with buying clothes. I have splurged and bought myself some new T-shirts from Life Is Good, and some new pajamas. I also bought some jeans, all new underwear, a couple of bra's, and socks. I need to go through and purge my wardrobe again. I just don't need as many clothes as I thought. I like the idea of eventually getting a capsule wardrobe for work. I also refuse to pay full price for stuff and one of the biggest benefits of being smaller is that I can find stuff on sale! Before - at size 22/22W the only things usually left on sale were fugly (to me anyway!). I am amazed at the cute things I can find now.
  17. You can't control everything that goes on at a party. If your niece and her husband left angry and are truly angry about something they should talk to you. It sounds like your son might be jealous of his mom dating? Families are tough. Good for you for recognizing that you can't talk about it right now because you are on the defensive.
  18. I've never had to have one thank goodness but can't they knock you out just enough so you won't even know it's happening? I would ask! I'm having a colonoscopy in a couple months and I sure don't want to be awake for that. If they can knock me out for the other end they should be able to do the same for you. OH - and FYI - my mom had a LARGE hiatal hernia that they found when they did her sleeve surgery. She had an endoscopy and it didn't show up.

    Hacks, Tips and Helpful Notes

I second @@Sophie74656 - don't buy a ton of stuff pre-op because your taste buds may change. I didn't believe it....didn't think it would happen to me. Had a Protein shake I ABSOLUTELY LOVED and when I drank it post-op??!!! BLECH!!!! The other thing I did to keep my sanity - I only weighed at the doctors office for the first two months. Your body is going to want to "stall" about 3-4 weeks out and if you weigh yourself daily or even weekly and don't see a loss a lot of people freak out and think the surgery was a failure. It's not! You can search "3 week stall" and you will see it's normal. Best of luck!

    How is everyone? August 2015

@@southernbelle256 I totally hear you on it being harder. I was bouncing around from 193-195-193-191-193 up down/up down for over two months. I did let some sneaky carbs back into my life and I had to rid myself of them. I also slipped on making sure I got enough Water. I went on a 5 day liquid reset and dropped 4.2lbs. I am not having the cravings I had pre-reset which is really helping. I also decided I can't weigh myself daily - it drives me nuts. I'm sticking to one day a week, on Monday mornings. Hopefully the scale will continue to move down at my weigh in this Monday. Have you slipped on anything? Let sneaky carbs back into your life? Lost your mojo for exercise? I take Zumba twice a week and Yoga once a week. I need to do more.
  21. They are having a big sale. I splurged on the long sleeve t-shirt but I got two sets of pajama pants for $14.99 each and two tops for $9.99 and $14.99 There stuff is quality but pricey. If I can find them at Marshall's or TJ Maxx I do. Pre-surgery I could only wear the men's shirts!
  22. I got myself the Life Is Good T-shirt I had been coveting.... Oh and I lost 4.2lbs! WOO HOO!
